2. I used a Genz Benz Shuttle and it was nasty. So bad that I;ve erased the sound from my mind The best amp was as above - my GK 700RB II
3.
no 'Love Games' though...grr,
So it wasn't a one-off after all And what else didn't they play? - Mr Pink http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKI8pFqWm0s
4. Right, I've found the cab that I am going to pair with my Trace 2x10" so I really need to get this sold ASAP. I am open to offers as well as trades for the aformentioned stuff and possibly a Hartke LH500 I will be away tomorrow from about lunch time until Friday afternoon so won't be able to respond between these times.
5.
Would go nicely with the jacket on your avatar
Jacket not included
6. I've just priced this up on the Warmoth website and for all the parts, the nut install by Jimmy Moon, shipping and duty/VAT/etc you're looking at well over £1000 to put this together. It has the best of everything, nothing was sacrificed to put this together
7. no one does gold '51 style covers, only chrome ones. That's why I added a later style gold bridge cover
8. MK made a point at the start of the night by saying that they weren't doing any new material
9.
I'm hoping they release a 70th Anniversary model instead.
But it will be 60 years - 2011 - 1951 = 60 If you want it to look original you can fit period correct chrome covers over a gotoh 201, that's what I had on my second one. Now that's a bass and a half with a Lollar pickup. someone on here from Ireland has it but I can;t remember who.
10. I would have thought that the Jazz would be worth about £5-600 ish and the G&L about the £375-400 mark I, of course, could be way off though
11. don't think I've ever seen a horn box, just the 4052H Is there a model number and do you have any pictures? Assuming that the horn box works the same as the bright box you can take 2 outputs from your amp to the main cabs then use the link on one of them to go to the horn box. This will still give you a 4ohm load
12. Just back and they were fantastic. All clearly enjoying themselves and playing very well. Mark was using his TC rig and played 2 different King Basses I don't want to spoil it for anyone who is going to hear them but there were 2 glaring omissions from the set - personally these 2 songs are Level 42 The new drummer is fantastic as well.
13. I have pretty low action and my bass sits on a stand next to the radiator in the living room most of the time. Hmmmmmm, Sprouts
14. So am I the only one never to have had to adjust my truss rod ever? I used to leave my bass in the car overnight in all weathers and didn;t have to touch anything
15. The missing link between the TNT150 and the Databass, a quality combo
16. Bargain for a quality combo - would buy it if I had the cash You want a quality combo with all the bells and whistles? This is it. The dogs bollox. Forgot all about this light weight sh*te this is the real deal
17. If I had the cash I would buy up everything Trace Elliot, similar to Thornybank I absolutely love this stuff. Its such good quality, reliable gear Whoever buys this whether beginner or advanced is going to love it
18. Reminds me of reading through Guitarist magazine in the late 80s and seeing that ad with the Gretsch Country Gentleman and The George Van Eps 7 string. Memories, like the something something something
19. I've built 2 Warmoth ones. Both extremely well made
20. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=105190
21. I would think that you just need to move a couple of wires on the switch
22. I'm sure this has been discussed before but there are 3 pubs local to me that have bands on. If we want more work then we've either got to head south to the borders or north to Inverness and that's a hell of a trip. Especially when I can make 4 or 5 times as much playing a wedding gig round the corner but then again the rock band is all about the rock band thing of hiring a van, driving for miles, playing quality rock tunes, drummer at the wrong gig, having drunk punters shouting for more, the banter, loading the van and going home happy.
