1. The bass that I had my eye on is no longer available but I'm still keeping the cab at its reduced price. Up for some trades if money is an issue - PM me with what you have. I am interested in, but not limited to: Epiphone Thunderbird non-reverse, Explorer, Flying Vee or Les Paul Maybe something by Dean Guitars or I may have a go at 6 string again.
2. I really, really want this amp.
3.
Yeah, I buy and sell a lot of basses in my quest for finding the perfect basses (for me). I have sent/received more than 30 basses over the last 2 years, and as long as you put it in a hard case (pack it up inside with bubble wrap) and put the hard case inside a solid card board box, there is virtually no risk. I have never had any shipping problems of any kind! Definitely offer postage if you want to sell.
I can beat that - 60 basses posted, about a dozen cabs, cabinet flightcases and 4 or 5 amps as well as small stuff. My Goth thunderbird arrived from the US with the neck off the body to keep shipping down. There is a sticky that shows you how to pack a bass and I'm sure it goes into detail about how to do it if you have no case or bag for it as well. Now's also a good time to offer postage to Europe as well as the Euro to the Pound is terrible for us but great for countries that use the Euro
4. Really like that - a bit of a Les Paul variant
5. I have the opposite problem - I have something for sale but there must be something blocking people's PMs coming through
6. Does he teach you driving 'the Chinese Way'?
7. The action looks a bit high and the 5th fret seems a lot more worn that the others I had to enlarge the picture to check that it was actually a bass - looks like one of those pictures where they've magnified an everyday object by 100x and you need to guess what it is.
8. about 29kg if you're talking about the 2x10" and 7kg for the 4052H
9. Hmm the HF ones may be the ones for me. I don't want uniform frequency attenuation - I like my ER20s cos they get rid of some of the damaging high end caused primarily by crashing symbols in my immediate vicinity. I've always been very sensitive to high frequencies my whole life so they may be the solution
10. I'll find out when I use it on Friday - its a wedding gig so I would normally only use one of them but f*** it I really want to hear how it sound with both running
11. which bin? I would really like one of these but like most folks cash is pretty thin on the ground The best I could do is a 4 month old GK 700RB II in a Gator rack, Trace 2103H 2x10" and maybe a few cash pounds on top.
12. Is it my imagination or is this really cheap? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vintage-Gibson-EB2-B...=item1e5e76c846
13.
I'm filling up.....
Are you allowed to use a Blackberry at the petrol station?
14. more originals than covers on the voting but more covers than originals on the posts in the thread?
15. An idea I've had for some time now but am unsure how effective it would be. Would it be possible to plug your bass into a small 5 or so watt all valve guitar combo to get a 'proper' overdriven valve sound before taking a line out to your bass amp? Or am I completely barking up the wrong tree?
16. This cab and the 1153 on here would make a fantastic compact stack and exactly what I was going to do until I got my hands on 2 4x10"s
17. Surely it would be cheaper to find the best showroom condition 76 Jazz bass and have the work done by the best luthier in the country and it would still be less money?
18. Plenty of interest in the 2x10" but nothing firm yet - also on Ebay but would prefer to sell here.
19.
MMMM! A Fender one now I already want a Squier now where's that new simley oh yes so whats the craic with this German "bloke"???
He sells sh*te at vastly inflated prices but we reckon its a ruse so that people will check out his parts (ooer missus) and buy them instead
20.
Yes. Quite a lot more. And they may not stack particularly well due to the lack of Feet/cup things... Someone please buy this cab before I am tempted to do something silly. Don't suppose you would accept a thirteen year old boy in part exchange?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvZgwtpPmLY
21.
Looks great!! Here's mine - a Thunder IIIb Fretless, all original. G.
Put that away Dammit. One of the few basses on the forum that still gives me GAS and I don;t even do fretless anymore
22. So is it left or right handed? I'm assuming the neck dive would be so bad you'd have to play it with the neck pointing towards the floor
23.
I think I've seen Level 42. Can't be sure.
Bad acid or repressed memory?
24. it needed to be said. Anyway - GK heads are very good. Never tried the cabs mind though I fancy trying the neo 2x12" cabs but I think 6 changes of bass rig in a year is bordering on silly so I may wait until next year
25. to hear what a 2x15" sounds like with a Gallien head, click here
