  1. It looks like some coucil officers are not applying said law for what it was intended for.
  2. I found this article online about a musician who it appears is being picked on by a london borough council for practising at home. Petition below. What do you think? TV allowed as is Radio but live music practice banned. Sounds like a new dark age to me. https://chng.it/wvPxLLLHwr
  3. I have plug cutters but never thought about using dowels cut across instead of with the grain unless to match an existing grain in a body someone fd up. Thanks for sharing this priceless tip.
  4. So how can you play that nice interesting Jazzy style when wearing a Rolling Stones T-Shirt? 🤣
  5. Just found this thread this morning. Hip hip hurrah for the way back machine What a differance a valve makes
  6. Another Watford valves user here. always been happy with the choice and what I recieved
  7. I thought at first glance of your 2nd photo the timber was badly cut but having blown up said photo I believe songofthewind is spot on with diagnoses and solution
  8. Ralph Princes Risborough Buckinghamshire. String replacements, set ups inc truss rod adjustments, bridge saddle height, intonation, Fret levelling and dressing, crown and polish. Neck shims. Some soldering work but not active systems. I don't do routing or spraying anymore as I had to loose my workshop when I moved home.
  9. Sorry I should have read to the end before posting this I came straight here from the photos you posted. Oops Glad you have made progress with it.
  10. From the pictures I would look closely at that nut first as it looks to me like its been damaged and filled with something even right up to the end. Also your string seems to sit on the slot of the bridge saddle rather than in it. Not sure if that is possible cause or not but I would consider it as it limits the contact area between the string and saddle.
  11. Nice link thanks. The chair in timber in the flesh looks much nicer than the bass IMV
  12. I thought the chair was molded plastic but either way your thinking has great possibilities. After all proper skateboards are made in a mold and look at the beating they can take.
  13. Is it a Fender P? Where was it made? Does it do this when you use a pick as well as fingers? Is it possible the other strings are too bright rather than the E string too dull for your tone settings If you didn't buy it new is it possible someone has changed the E strings bridge saddle to one of a different quality metal such as crap instead of brass. Just lobbing in possibilities here. Finally neck cracked or fingerboard de laminating from neck on that side?
  14. I believe you sum up what I was thinking. Its basically a bit of bent metal with a cnc machined bit of wood stuck on it designed to be assembled in the cheapest way possible at an outrageously inflated price. When someone on Alibaba starts to build this idea it will maybe sell for about 30 quid or 100 for the top end luxury model. I actually liked the sound and thought it reminded me of sitar music. I could imagine it appealing to some styles of music. It just looks cheap and nasty construction wise even if it is a clever design. Working on the price estimation a carbon reinforced pick axe handle should cost about €1000. A year waiting list? Hardly a professional product launch is it? Shame really it's a nice product at a stupid greedy price Before you disagree with me compare how much goes into building a car. Rant over.
  15. Most of the major pickup manufacturers have a selection of pickup wiring diagrams on their websites which can be found on Google. Seymours have a good selection to choose from.
  16. That's just a butchered pickguard instead of being cut out nicely to give better access. Why do that on a quality instrument? My guess is an impact driver bit would have fit in there then with a small spanner to turn it. Happy to find out if I'm wrong having not seen it first hand.
  17. This absolutely Plus if you want to give your fingers time to recover while still playing. Cyno your fingertips to protect them in between times. You can also get rubber thimbles to tide you over if they get too sore
  18. For some people it is easier to just plain allow themselves to fail than face rejection. Maybe your friend is one of them.
  19. Good morning Viperpunk. Welcome the forum and world of things bass. Are you actually in Poland right now or it that just where you come from? If you were in the UK there is likely a member not far away that could show you and ease your concerns and confusion. Not sure about how many members there may be in Poland. Here we are almost everywhere. As others have said it is most likely your truss rod needs a small amount of adjustment. As said above be sure to loosen the strings between adjustments. Hope you get on well with it. What make is your bass? It may help shed light on your plight 😀
  20. Lovely looking bass. I think it probably just needs a sprinkle of early Aria dust 😉
  21. Very nice and the William Morris influenced fabrics set it off beautifully 😀
  22. Rusty old Ford. But it must be hand torn from a vintage early banana skin capri or it will sound less lively than a later one which isnt all rust and filler.
