  1. Beautiful bass. I like the look and idea of a Thunderbird but for me it would have to be the wood showing version.
  2. Alternatively you get the yellow ones in supermarkets with the green string polisher on the back.
  3. What a lovely cave of temptations that lot is. I got no room, too much already and have now got to play with IEM. Sigh of escape. 😁
  4. If you look at his feedback he magaged to sell this some time ago fender 51 precision bass Mike Dirnt Signature Series and Gig Bag. (#403526555673) Buyer: 4***6 (1034) £525.00
  5. I had a combo similar. Boxy piece of tat. Never got a good tone out of it. 399 That should be pence not £ 🤣
  6. Looks like he doesn't or may not ship to UK. Shipping might be more than the bass?
  7. I thought Westone thunder as weĺl at first. I do think it's some kind of uncle mats. Don't like the neck/headstock repair much. Could becone a headless project. Fancy letting a through neck of that quality get in that state. Bstewards
  8. Just do it. I took time out here and there for years at a time due to work pressure, family etc. I regret not just getting on with it and had I done so would be far better than I am. Find others to play with. Be encouraged. Its a great thing to be able to play music. Don't throw away the time and effort you already put in. Build on it and keep going. 😀
  9. Is that neck hollow or solid ally?
  10. It is difficult to tell from the photos but my OCD tells me the bottom of that heel may have curled away from the body where the dovetail ends. When you look from sideways on at a right angle to the join does what you see confirm this? Is that a straight line at that point. Maybe you can photo that for us to see.
  11. You most likely all know this but just to be safe. Never leave finishing oil cloth laying around even just overnight. Soak it in water and put it outside preferably in a bbq or incinerator. Not in the bin! It can spontaneously combust.
  12. I did do a test with powder a you did but found two issues as you say it came up canary yellow and the powder also drops into the grain. The juice from the rubbed on fresh root did neither of these and can look bright but oiling afterwards does tone it down.
  13. Just bought Toms last Smoothhound yesterday. He got it out the door and in the post straight away. A very nice purchase from a very nice man. I am delighted as you will be buying from him
  14. I really like that and the oak? bath sides. Far to much plastic around these days
  15. I gather he didn't seek your permission before he moved in 🤣
  16. The intonation on this one looks about right to my eyes and too far forward on the other one
  17. Oi live in the country where we have nice gardens with lots of grass, bushes and hedges to cut etc. Both my neighbours cut theirs as do I mine. After we moved in we nicknamed it machine row as at the weekend there is nearly always some machine or other being used in the area to cut something. Often in the week as well We asked the neighbors if our music disturbs them and they say no we cant hear it. One of them likes motorbikes and quads which he test rides around his garden sometimes. 8.30 Sunday maybe. We choose to live and let live which is great. In the original article it is apparent that the complainer is a music teacher having a dig at a fellow female musician who she admits she can't hear if she shuts her door. Yet the ar*e from the EHO has insisted in making this order without any decibel readings or other justification. This threatens the girls livelihood. I hope he finds himself in the same place.
  18. Very lovely bass Lear, lear ,lear Dribble, dribble Mentally slaps oneself. Congratulations on a great find
