1. I've ordered the 4-string..... now it's just the waiting game!
2. I've just ordered the HoneyBurst one!

4. Would the 'Concert for George' count as a whole load of covers of George Harrison songs? If so, there were a lot of fantatstic covers.
5. Anyone who covers a Bob Dylan song does it better than Dylan - especially Joan Baez. (IMHO, of course!)
6. Sorry this is a bit late.... I've only just seen the thread. Would this be any good? http://www.stewmac.com/Luthier_Tools/Tools_by_Job/Truss_Rods/Truss_Rod_Crank_for_Tele.html
7. The same with router bits - cheap ones go blunt and tear up the wood. These are the only two router bits I've used for guitars... and they're still going strong after 14 years: http://www.stewmac.c...-_Set_of_2.html
8. I can't get a Handel on these puns.
9. Ah... I remember back in the late 70s going to see Sabbath in Coventry. (Van Halen were support!!). I got down to the front, up against the stage, right in front of Geezer's rig. I could feel my chest move and my ears rang for three days afterwards. Happy days!
10.
What's the return policy like? How much does it cost are you returning to Germany?
The returns policy is fantastic.... http://www.thomann.de/gb/helpdesk_moneyback.html ...but I'm not sure how much it would cost. As it's a light-weight and small head then if it's £10 or so then it might be worth it to be able to do a direct side-by-side comparison. Just a thought.
11. Get them both....and send the one back you don't like! Simples

14. From eons ago in a blues band I was a guitarist in for a few years... 9am Sunday morning after a Saturday night gig witnessed by the usual half-dozen punters...the phone goes...I get out of bed to answer it....it was Dennis the singer... Singer: "Great gig last night." Me (yawning): "It was OK - not many people there, thought." Singer: "I thought you played really well." Me: "Thank you, Dennis." silence......... Singer: "I thought I sang really well, too." Me: "Yes Dennis. Can I go back to bed now?"
15. It's usually measured with the string fretted at the last fret and 1/8" (3mm) at the bass side and 3/32" (2.5mm) at the treble are the values given in Dan Erlwine's Guitar Player Repair Guide. EDIT: top of pole piece to under-side of string.
16.
I was just wondering if that bunch had been mentioned... my vote would be for Hey Jude, which seems to have entered into mass consciousness... my little daughter knew it when she was five or six.
That's always our last song.... and we do the "OK, all the bridesmaids now..." na-na-na-nana-na-naaa etc. Very cheesey, but it goes down really well.

19. Damn... and I thought I'd got myself sorted. I was just about to build my own speaker cab for the Eminence 2512 driver I've got, then GB come along with their new Focus range of lightweight cabs, and now Ashdown do this. Bugger!
20.
When I first saw the MiBass stuff I thought it would work really well in that capacity. I love my Promethean 1x10 Combo, but want for a little bit more natural low end, something a 1x12 would deliver nicely. I also would love to be using British gear, albeit British designed gear - built in China or wherever.
Exactly how I feel.
I was considering maybe getting a MiBass head with 2 of their VS112 cabs, but I wonder if they'll be doing anything cab-wise to match up specifically with the MiBass heads and combos?...
"The Mi10" and Mi12" MiCabs produce 250 Watts 4ohms and 250 Watts 8ohms respectively." Looks like they will.
21. Oh no! Now I want more stuff!! The 1 x 12s are just fanatastic - and with upright bass as well (not that I play upright)..... 22. For difficult stuff I find it helps to break it down in to obvious short 'blocks'... and then start with an end block, say, the last one in the verse or the last one in the chorus. Then learn the one previous to it so you're always playing into a part that you know. This means you don't always get that 'aaaaaarrrrrrrrrrgggghhhhh' feeling when you inevitably mess up - which then becomes very negative. I find this way gives positive reinforcement to what you've achieved.
23. You're fine... we're all (supposedly) 230V. Since 1960, the supply voltage in UK domestic premises has been 240 V AC (RMS) at 50 Hz. In 1988, a Europe-wide agreement was reached to unify the various national voltages, which ranged at the time from 220 V to 240 V, to a common European standard of 230V (CENELEC Harmonization Document HD 472 S1:1988). The standard nominal supply voltage in domestic single-phase 50 Hz installations in the UK is still 240V AC (RMS), but since 1 January 1995 (Electricity Supply Regulations, SI 1994, No. 3021) this has an asymmetric voltage tolerance of 230 V+10%-6% (253-216.2 V), which covers the same voltage range as continental 220v supplies to the new unified 230v standard. This was supposed to be widened to 230 V ±10% (253-207 V), but the time of this change has been put back repeatedly and as of 2007[sup][update][/sup] is set for 2008 (BS 7697). The old standard was 240 V ±6% (254.4-225.6 V), which is mostly contained within the new range, and so in practice suppliers have had no reason to actually change voltages. The continued deviation in the UK from the harmonised European voltage has been criticised in particular by light bulb manufacturers, who require tighter voltage tolerances to optimise the operating temperature and lifetime of their products, and who currently have to continue producing separate 230 V and 240 V versions.
24. Hi Ken, Great to meet you and Joe on Friday - and just to let everyone on BassChat know that they can deal with you with complete confidence. Great guy and very understanding. Colin
