4. I was playing early 80s in a pub in Brighton and towards the end of our set the crowd started to point at me and I noticed they were all looking my way, then the drummer stands up,,,,the Marshall 100 was on fire, smoke, and that nasty smell filling the stage, but it was still working, until it was turned off,it never worked again ever..I finished the gig useing the monitor amp Happy days..

6. no wonder that I am so bad,I start by doing scales, that will take 30 seconds then I try to play a bass line to a random tune one off the mp3s,then thats it noodle time, this usualy takes me to about half an hour of playing time,I do this every day...think that I best try harder..
7.
Playing Lizzy' "Boys Are Back In Town" Main band plays in A, dep band plays in G. After a couple of gigs with the dep band my muscle memory is all to cock and I was all over the place back in A
Its not the only song they do thats a little odd..and I thought it was only me??
8. silly daftest thing was to part ex my Ricky 4005 about 20 years ago,she was a late 70s about 76 ex demo model..even now people remenber that bass....
9. I have my own PA and lights, being a singing bassist,I have the tools to do the job, which I paid for. But years ago we all brought into a PA system,we toured with it for years, and I think the guitarist got to keep it,when the band stopped,Thinking about this I must have brought into quite a few systems over the years, and never got any cash back when I moved on. The way I think now is that if your a singer you should have a PA of sorts mic at least,....but Im just an old git. just getting my coat..
10. after 35 years of hard playing yes still learning, still feel like a total beginner some times, so still time to play and learn....

13. Years ago, phone rings a guitarist wants a bass player, promises of great gigs original tunes ect,you heard all this befor type stuff, to cut a long long yarn short..I turn up,they eventualy arrive,I have a half stack a couple of basses, they have one Marshall thing between two guitarists,no drummer, no singer. The warning bells are ringing very loudly, inwardly screeming noooooooo...they can not be this bad,no tune up just plug in and they start playing one in E the other in A they were playing like a pair of super rock stars both at different gigs.I was shure that I had been set up by some one and was looking around for the camera, and awaiting Mr Beadle to walk in mic in hand...had to pretend the amp had blown and run away..thinking will have to vet any future calls very carefully...
