Basschat should have a "golden oldies" / Best Threads forum like over on TB. This one is a hall-of-famer, and a person highlight for sure.

I think it's going to cost a fortune and you'll save minimal money for the hastle. Also, 130lbs is ludicrously heavy for a cab.

I simply don't understand why people shouldn't post negative opinions. This site is all about user reviews, and in Shockwave's opinion this cab didn't measure up. I don't see why any manufacturer should have a period of grace for their products "because they're new" - especially ones charging premium prices.

Jamie. Currently going through something similar. Looking for a valve based DI box, preferably with two balanced outputs, preferably with EQ, preferable with compressor, preferably runs from IEC power. Lots of options, but difficult to find exactly what you want. I tried the Summit TD-100 and Summit TLA-50 at Bass Direct at the weekend and was well impressed - the main issue with that is that they're around £400 each, and wouldn't have an EQ sectino unless I forked out another £550.

There are plenty of ways around that the Molan. Frieght forwarding companies, compliant friends etc.

When you look at the cabs you can buy in the £700-£900 category you can buy some really high quality gear. At £825 this Barefaced is competing in the Premier League of bass cabs, and you shouldn't have to make compromises - like it being too flimsy, or being bass-shy.

We're not married but she does give me disapproving looks when I return from Bass Direct.

All this scheming to save a couple of hundred quid - just get it spent and start loving the bass
