1. I've had a good look on Evil Bay but not much joy.
2. Where can I get a small flight case from, the sort of size for leads and a few pedals etc small case type of thing. I've done a few searches but don't seem to be able to find what I'm looking for, second hand/ used would be good. Fank EEEeeeeeee Ta very glad BIGd
3. Classic excuse for guitarist, can't get i good sound if I set my amp any lower.................... buy a new amp, pedal or sack him and get a real musician instead !!
4. help needed I want to be able to play a keyboard (single notes) and trigger sounds via a foot controller. Will a Behringer FCB1010 do this, if not what will ? I thank you Ta very glad BIGd
5. If music was easy, everybody would be a musician. As X factor shows, music is difficult and not for all. we all have styles etc we don't get or can't get into the grove of............. that's life as a musician.
6. I find it a little odd that some people are saying using a music stand is Un professional, yet forgetting the odd lyrics or cocking it up is acceptable...................... really !! Do we really think Joe Public would even notice if you had a stand or not ? Although they WILL notice forgotten words etc. I never heard some one say "they were sh*t, used music stands", I have heard "they were sh*t, they didn't know the words" or did you hear that cock up when they got lost.
7. I am a bass player , 6 string guitarist , Tuba player and vocalist. When playing with the brass groups music stands are used no question. The big advantage I feel is, we can if we have the music with us play anything. Even music we may never have listened to or rehearsed, something I'm sure most pub/club band couldn't possibly do and have no way of playing without the musical dots, words and chords.. I would much rather go see a band/group play something right, not note perfect (we all make mistakes even with dots) but I think its less likely. I have noticed so called top pro bands use tv monitors to scroll the lyrics etc when playing live. The monitors are usually on the floor and from the front of stage look like speaker monitors. I do feel if it improves the performance, go with it. Nothing worse than a band that forgets words, chord run or finishes to early by forgetting the last verse etc. You might think the audience don't notice, but they really do. Is a music stand really that bad ?
8. Any music group is only as good as the drummer. You can make an average band sound great with a good drummer behind them, a bad drummer will make the best group in the world sound crap. Its the basic thing that music is based on rhythm, not the singer, guitarist or dare I say it us the bass players, although we work with the drummer to make a great band. Listen to any band you really like and think what sells it to you........................................ the rhythm section, built on the drummer. Yes I would leave a group if the drummer can't keep time. Your drummers excuse about moving the beat forwards or backwards is bollarks. Yes you do have movement with the beat but, you need to be able to keep the beat before you can start moving it. Can't believe you have played gigs with this what sounds like idiot. It must sound bad from an audience point of view, especially when as you have said they have even shouted out about the drummers bad playing. Save yourself, leave now and don't look back !
9. The articles on Monster cables seem to say the retailer is at fault not Monster. It looks to me that the retailers are marking up the prices for bigger profit. Monster seem to be in the wrong, and to be honest, can't say I care. 15 or so years looks flippin good value to me, I love um !
10. I've used Monster cables for about 15 years, never had to replace any and quality is top notch. If I was looking to replace I would prob buy Monster again, but if I was looking for a custom size I would go with OBBM . Just because of the recommendation I have read posted on BC for many years, you can't beet a good recommendation. Ta very glad BIGd
11. This may seem a silly question but why does it matter. You say your not used to flats, all flats are smooth that's why they are called flats. The colour of the silk will make no difference at all to string performance. Just buy a good make, I use la Bella but EB, roto or whatever as your first set would be fine. once you go to the flat side, you can never, never go back
12. I fink it nowe is worcing yeah..... fanks for all your elp evribodi
13. Anybody have any ideas as to why Spell checker doesn't work on B/chat. I'm using Firefox and have the Add On loaded. It works fine on all other Web pages/forums I use. Help.
14.
I've tried to love them, I loaned one and gigged it, but it tipped up all night, I looked at others, they had razor sharp metal work, add a rubber ring they all said, so I looked again and the next few had sharp fret ends and crap binding or the finish was bleeding into the bindings, pah I give up
I have a 73 Rick that plays like a dream and G&L ASAT both of these in most peoples eyes have neck dive, neither of my basses have this problem. Although that is not the point I was making. I posted saying if you don't like something, then don't buy it. I can't see the mileage in the "I like/dislike coz" debate. The great thing about the human race is we are all different, and have individual likes/dislikes, that's what makes the world go around. Slagging this Bass against that Bass is pointless, it is just your opinion/taste.
15.
I think we can at least all agree Rickys are sh*te
Wow you are really open to different styles and sounds then, I really admire people like that.
16. It may just be me but. Who really cares if you don't like something ? It just seems a little dumb to ask why you don't like some thing, could be because you just don't, Just don't buy one SIMPLES !
17. When it comes to money, no such thing as trust. Thank you for posting the picture. Ta very glad
18. I'll give you £10..... it's only really worth about £5, but as it's not been played much, I'll take the risk. Ta very glad
19. Look at the drummer in the House band, pissing himself. Saying that so are the bass & guitar player................ What a tit.
20. I don't want to see what it looks like, it needs to be in the flesh...
21. You will have more joy interest wize, if you post some pictures.
22. Smoke on the water, Black Night or Hush all Deep Purple but always seem to go down really well at the end of the night. I know these have been played to death, but there is a very good reason for that................ great tunes, everybody knows them. Ta very glad
23. I don't understand the question, go on run it by me again........ slowly please.
24. I have a back problem and would really stuggle if the bass was really heavy. Although I've never thought much differance between one bass and another.
25. What would you be testing for, is the idea to look at good value, great playability, feel or sound ? Or are you looking to test like for like eg. Squire v Yamaha etc.
