1.
If it has to be Ashdown and it has to be a combo, I'd try and stretch to this
That's what I'd go for, and it's a fantastic price. I've got the 1x15 550 combo, and it's an absolutely cracking amp.
2.
bit like discovering good sex with a really hot woman
Best analogy ever.
3. I'm actually off to Orkney at the end of May for the folk festival... Should I drop him an email?
4. I'd say keep an eye out for another used Yammy BB. Great basses and always a bargain!
5. Still a little bit of interest in this... open to offers, trades of guitar amps (little valve combos), sansamp type di thingys...
6. Best pickup covers ever. Beautiful.
7. Now on ebay here, would still prefer a sale on the forum though...
8. This is really good to hear - I've been buying parts from them for ages but never used their pups, and I've just acquired a strat that could really use some better pickups.
9. Right, putting this on eBay tonight, so will take £500 this afternoon...
10. Gorgeous. Used to have one of these in ash, and it was the best precision I've ever played. Someone will be very lucky.
11.
Tis rare I repeat myself.... The MIM 60's reissues have made in Mexico pickups: part # 0058358000 (neck) and 0058359000 (bridge). Am. Standard pt #'s: 0033753000 (neck) and 0033746000 (bridge). Hope this helps.
Sorry mate, when you said Made in Mexico, I thought you meant the bass. I don't have my glasses on; I didn't see the American part numbers on your first post and don't have a great memory for 10 digit numbers! Apologies!
12. Pre-ebay bump. I need this gone to get my car serviced! Someone make me an offer...
13. Definitely the best looking jazz I've seen in a long time. I think the pups are the same as those in the US standards - that's the score with my MIM 50's P Bass...
14. That's great, cheers Phil
15. Ok, that's great, cheers. So (one more thing) if I was to connect up a couple of these, would the wiring go like this? ...+ connector -> resistor -> tweeter -> resistor -> tweeter -> - connector ?
16.
To me, I think a lot of it is many people don`t actually want to inform someone they haven`t got the position, so either just don`t inform them, or send short blunt messages. So they choose the route that makes it easier for them.
This is the big issue in these situations. All you can do is make sure that you don't act the same way when you have to make the call. I think it's always nicer to be completely honest and straight with people from the start, that way there's no false hope or perceived rudeness.
17. Sorry to potentially hijack the thread, but I've been thinking about knocking up a cheap tweeter box using piezos, and I'm just wondering about the wiring... I'd wire 2 in series, as my amp is 525W, but I've heard about adding a 20-30 ohm resistor in series to kill any frequencies above 20kHz that could potentially damage the piezo. Does anyone know what power would this resistor need to be?
18. Cheers mate, people are obviously skint!
19. Are you interested in any trades at all?
20.
Have a bump for a v decent bass, I should never have sold mine! don't suppose I could tempt you to trade for my nice ACG? worth a try!
Sorry mate, have no need for any more basses!
Anything in mind?
Guitarwise... well, love Strats, but interested in anything with single coils really. As for amps, anything light and small... whether it be in head or combo variant...
