1. Bump for sound clips that expose my awful fretless playing.
2.
Pmed.
And replied
3. Sorry mate, I cannot ship this as I haven't a case, only a gig bag.
4. Dunlop straplocks, these were on a bass I've just purchased, but I changed them for normal strap buttons as I like to leave the strap on my bass with a Grolsch washer. £10 posted in UK. EDIT:added picture.
5. Sunday evening bump! Be willing to take part trades on a preamp / DI...
6. Bought a Clover bass from Marc and couldn't be happier. Thoroughly nice bloke.
7. Decided to re-list this to pay for a 6 string I've just purchased!
8. It will work fine, but you might find you want the AX7 back in again - it's not really big on a overdrive sound, gust a little bit of grit.
9. Whereabouts are you based?
10. This looks amazing... someone buy it quick before I do...
11. I boost bass and treble, and cut the mids slightly, then turn the bass and mid shift on. With my p bass I had the gain set at about 2/3, sounds gorgeous.
12. Sweet! Make sure the foundations of your house are secure before you plug in
13. Mine had an AX7 and an AU7. I changed them both for electro harmonix AX7s to get a little more break up in the pre. However, I don't know what they have in them nowadays - this is one of the earlier, UK built amps. I actually love the eq; ok, it's not the most versatile but it's passive, and set up right gives a lush thick tone. The one thing I've noticed is that the bass and mid shifts completely change the character of the amp - with them off it's voiced in a similar way to an orange or marshall, but engaged it really does get into svt territory. I guess it is a bit of a one trick pony, but I'm pretty bloody fond of that trick.
14. Cripes, 2 OBC115s? When I had my orange rig I had a 2nd on order but cancelled it when I got the 1st and realised how bloody loud the AD200 is with one of these cabs! Definitely the best sounding 15 in my opinion.
15. I'm sure 330 watts would be fine for most gigs. I've recently got a 550 and absolutely love the tone- I've had quite a few amps and this makes it so easy to dial in a great sound, however I have but some hotter valves in.
16.
Get your £1,000 or so out and welcome to the top table.
Or the bottom table if there are CIJ players present.
17.
There's no problem here. Walk along the rack past all of these Squier and Mexican things until you get to the USA Standard models. Choose which colour you want, plug in and rock. There is no substitute. No other bass will do.
This is ludicrous. I bought a MIM 50's and compared it with a MIM and 2 MIAs in the shop. Although the US parts seem to be better (although I absolutely love the BBOT classic groved saddle bridge), one of the US basses was utter crap - sounded completely dry and dead, and the other was just too modern sounding for my taste. Then there's the feel of the bass, the neck profiles are totally different, and my 50's is light as a feather. Don't be fooled by fanboy hype, and don't play the 'fender lottery' (always try whatever's on offer).
18. Personally, I'd try raising my pickups a little - that should immediately give you more gain.
19. Sorry mate, but postage would be extra. Currently got this on hold for a fellow basschatter.
20. OK, last price drop to a nice round £550. Definitely need to sell this now as I've got a new amp on the way!
21. Bump for price drop, got my eye on something... Also, I'll be round Loughborough/ Leicester way this weekend, so I could meet up down that end of the country...
