Fender Aerodyne Classic Precision Bass Special 2006

Very good condition (a few little marks) OBC115 in limited edition white. 400 watt, 8ohm, 100db sensitivity, 30 kgs. This is a lovely sounding, growly fifteen that's really loud due to it's excellent sensitivity. I'm selling due to back problems; I need something a bit lighter, and I'm going back down the 4x10 route. I bought it new only 6 months ago. Includes Orange branded cover. PS. The amp isn't for sale! EDIT: Extra pictures

This has made for very interesting reading; I'd like to try one of these out as I'm thinking about it as a backup to my AD200B. Regarding the not-so-powerful eq... Is it passive like the AD200B? If so, I find that tone stack to work well, but you need to know how to use it creatively. For example, if the bass needs boosting but it's already right up, turning the mids and highs down and the master up works a treat!

Fender Precision 1970 reissue CIJ SOLD PENDING
guybrush threepwood posted a topic in Basses For Sale
Here we have my CIJ Precision, 1970 reissue, ash and maple. It's one of the premium models with US pickups. It was purchased last year from Far East Guitars, and I'm looking to trade for a yummy sounding, light 4x10 (or any other cab that could be used as a standalone on loud gigs, which isn't too big or heavy). Alternatively, I'd sell it for what I paid, £550. It's a very chunky sounding P-Bass in pretty good condition, but it does have a few little dings here and there, all of which were present when I bought the bass. I've photographed the worst (they aren't too bad at all), which are on the neck. Of course these don't affect the playability in any way, and they don't overshadow the lush piece of ash used for the body, and the quartersawn neck. The action is very low, and it has a very slim neck for a precision - 40mm at the nut, so it's lovely to play. I put the white pickup covers on, but I still have the black ones in the drawer, so I'd include those. It's currently strung with Chromes flats, and sounds ace - very old school! The serial number dates it to 2005-2006. The reason I'm selling is purely down to circumstances - some little chav slammed into my car a couple of months ago, and this bass is now too heavy for my back. (My bathroom scales say it's about 10 lbs). So, I'm currently putting together a parts-precision, which will be lighter... -
Yup. I've had a bass for some 27 years & still a beginner
I know this feeling far too well... Anyway, enough time spent on here, off to do some practice!

That's a pretty bass, especially for the money!
Bump for a classy looking ray.
Cheers mate. Trades now edited for more detail; preferably looking for US reissue 62 jazz, or Road Worn / MIA / CIJ with cash my way. Or anything jazz shaped, be it Lakland, Shuker, Sandberg, etc. as long as it's passive! -
Very pretty I would trade it with my fender jazz (japan)* in an heartbeat, but I'm based in Holland. * http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/1199/dscn1689ug5.jpg http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/3823/imag0011cg.jpg http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/797/dscn1666cb0.jpg
That's seriously nice... I really want to trade in person though; want to make sure I'm getting a cracking jazz! To be fair, I bet it would be as it's Japanese, but I just want to be sure. Sorry mate, this is just a really good bass, and I don't want to end up with something which is good, but just doesn't have the same quality feel as this, and I end up selling it a few months later. And of course, that's a two-way street; feel is such a personal thing. -

Here we have an absolutely lovely Stingray, bought this new last August so I'm preferably looking for trades - I don't want to lose too much on the money side of things... It's an absolutely cracking bass, fantastic build quality, superb tone, gorgeous sunburst finish over swamp ash, with a rosewood fingerboard on a quartersawn maple neck. Feel-wise it is fantastic; rolled fingerboard edges, quite light (which is pretty unheard of for a Stingray), a really fast, satin-finished neck and really comfy and responsive to play. I've set it up recently as I've put roundwounds on it; it has been wearing flats for the last few months. The action is nice and low - a smidge over 2mm at the 17th fret. The sound is great - really snappy, lots of growl, punch and bite, everything a good Stingray should be. And it doesn't have a weak G string! As for it's condition, I'd describe it as 9.7/10 - it really is 'as new' but with a few scratches on the pickguard, and a tiny little scratch on the base. This isn't nearly as bad as it looks in the photo, (damn you flash photography...) There are no 'dings' to speak of. It also comes with the Music Man hardcase. I absolutely love this bass, but I just cannot get on with active electronics nowadays - my OCD won't let me stop fiddling with the EQ! Therefore I'm looking for a good Fender Jazz, preferably a straight swap for an American vintage reissue 62, or a road worn, standard US or Japanese with a little cash my way. If you're interested, let me know what you've got, but I'm not looking for anything with more than 4 strings, a battery or no fretwire. As I said above, I would prefer a trade, but for a sale I'd be looking for £900 ono, as it really is in fantastic condition; you could pretty much think of it as saving £400 on a new one! Sorry for the flash photography, the lighting in here isn't great for photos...

It'll be back up and running once it gets a little warmer and the paint is fully dry!
Buying a bass looking like that means that you have too much disposable income. Try spending it on something sensible like mind bending drugs
Perhaps that's the reason for the purhase?
