1. Perfect condition, about 3 months old. Selling as I don't really use effects any more. Loads of different effects, can be set up to run as patches, or manually with each pedal turning on an effect. Boxed with manual, and I also have a stagg pedalboard case I'll throw in with it. Takes 6 x AA batteries, or 9V adaptor (not included in sale). Interested in a trade for a Sansamp VT Bass pedal.
2. Still brand new, sealed in box - got them free with a bass I bought a few weeks ago; I want to get some flatwounds, so these are a bit redundant.
3. That is a beaut! The case is a wee bit plush too!
4.
I use a Behringer mixer - the inputs are described as line inputs but the gain available is quite sufficient to bring an instrument-level input up to line level.
Ah ok, so do you bypass the preamp in your amp then?
5.
Why not just use a small cheap mixer?
Can you get mixers with instrument inputs? I thought the jacks were always line level
6.
The BDDI Deluxe has two stomp-selectable inputs, each with access to three stomp-selectable presets with user-defined EQ and Level, plus a few other goodies (like being an excellent DI box, etc.).
I used to have one of these, but I didn't like the way it scooped mids... It sounded amazing for recording - just plug in and go direct, but for live use, I wasn't so sure. But then again, I love my mids!
7. I love the tone of the little rocker at the start of that video!
8.
If you have more volume than you need through your rig with the P bass, could you not just roll the volume off on the instrument to match the jazz on full?
This is a wise, wallet-friendly plan, but remember that you'll roll off a bit of top end as you turn the bass down.
9. I'd go down the route of an eq pedal - you can probably pick one up for the same price as a decent AB box, but you could tweak the eq and boost the volume for the jazz without having to change anything on your amp. Obviously you'd have to swap the lead over, but really that doesn't take much longer than changing bass.
10. Bump for one-time price drop!
11. Bump for price drop! A lot of guitar for not much money right here...
12. Did someone say "mwah"?... Bump!
13. Carved mahogany body, with mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard, in ‘pewter’ colour with cream binding. Tune-O-Matic bridge assures excellent set up, and Yamaha humbucking pickups make this an excellent guitar for rock, metal or blues. Fantastic condition and a lovely player - the sound is very Gibson-esque. Comes with gigbag.
14. Crafted in Japan fretless jazz, non-export, 1962 reissue model. The serial number starts with P, so this dates to between 1999 and 2002. Alder body in sunburst, with beautiful ‘vintage tint’ maple neck. Lined fretless rosewood fingerboard, vintage spiral bridge, vintage reverse tuners, tug bar and neck pickup cover. USA vintage pickups, which have loads of growl and bite, but can also deliver a beautifully smooth fretless tone. It’s so responsive and has a fantastic feel and sound. The action is really low and the build quality impeccable; I’ve never seen such a tight neck pocket on a Fender. It really is a flawless bass, and it breaks my heart to sell it, but unfortunately I've just had quite a few gigs cancelled and I need the cash. I have to sell one bass, and this is the one, simply because it’s fretless. It's in excellent condition, and comes with a hard case. It's currently strung with D'Addario half-rounds, which sound quite bright without chewing up the neck. I'd prefer collection, but I can drop it off in the car if you're not too far and cover my petrol costs. However if you did want me to send it via courier, it would be an extra £25, but I'd like paypal fees to be paid at the buyer's end - I hate getting stung on them. EDIT: price and postage details
15. Chuffing heck! I've never heard anyone slap a bass so hard!
16. Cheers mate, unfortunately he wouldn't be interested in the head as he has one identical to it.
17. Haha, yeah glitzy is definitely the word! Obviously it would have to be played on the right gig - might look a bit out of place for jazz... But would go great with a pair of platform shoes
18. I quite like the look of it...
19. Hi, would you consider splitting the two? I have a friend who is in the market for an ampeg 4x10...
20. Ah sorry mate, I totally missed the part where you stated it was a fretless you were looking for.
21.
Great start to a thread. Sum's it up well. I an a convert too after purchasing a 2EQ Ray from a friend some years ago. He said he had one for sale. At the time I wasn't thinking of buying another bass. I had it on load for some gigs and just fell in love with it. Have never looked back. Glad to hear you are a convert, now you need to fully prove it by changing your avatar showing you with your Ray and not the Fender!
Haha, all in good time... Need to get my camera back first
22. To be honest, I don't think you'll beat that Stingray price, I've just paid a lot more than that for mine! However, the finish makes a big difference to the price. I have seen US Jazz basses for £900, I think it was on the gak or digital village website, although there have been quite a few for sale on here, and most of them look 'as-new'!
23. I played through one of these in Leeds' PMT a couple of weeks ago, it was paired with the 15" cab. I can't remember how much it was, but I remember thinking it sounded pretty good for the money. However, it did have a bit of a cheap feel to it.
