1. Will this new liking for this genre make you GAS for a new bass? If so what's the best bass for metal.......
2. We use a 250W active monitor which has it's own EQ. It is intened for FOH so needs a small purpose made wedge under it to point it up at us (no big deal). We are a 4 piece and TBH only 1 monitor is enough for the various stages we play on. We have vox and guitar coming through and our drummer can hear them both fine. Ours was and ex-demo, cost £150 and HAS plenty of headroom.
3. Had a Boss Bx-4 for years. Much the same thing and great for the same purpose. I use a tascam basd trainer now.
4. Just heard from Mrs Mep about his bass playing. Cool.
5. Hi. As you are a newbie and your first post is selling a bass you should check out the pinned threads for the market place so you are familiar with how this forum deals with such transactions, unless you have already. Good luck & welcome.
6.
I always find the dog barking at me quite off-putting...!
You were lucky to have the dog. Some years ago at a local pub we only had the fruit machine for company at the start of the gig, which the singer was playing whilst singing. Luckiy the place has picked up since then as we recently found out.
7. I too have comadered the cupboard under the stairs in our terrace house. It is completely rammed wirh my gear, the PA power amp and wireless mic case. Practice with my Tascam bass trainer and headphones.
8. Another shout for the Hercules stand. You won't regret it.
9. Some years ago i was in a Stereophonics tribute band. It was a blast, playing songs off the first 3 albums and at some great gigs - especially the student scene.
10. Post deleted
11. What gets me is a request from the landlord or landloady AFTER the souncheck to turn it down. Which part of cound CHECK didn't they inderstand. When this happens we normally don't bother / pretend to tuen down or just make a very minimal effort. Not easy when not everything is through the PA.
12. Bookmarked for later listening. Thanks.
13. My late 80's Charvel.
14. Tapping, nodding, moving! Whatever next? I just stand there looking mean and moody like a bass player should.
15. He was on the one show. It's am old tune that didn't make it on album back in the day. Resurrected for now. Sermef ok but need to listen to it properly. Couldn't hear the bass properly on my tv.
16. I cut some strings down and aim for 3 winds.
17. Boosting the low mids is an option that comes up when thise is asked. It worked for me.
18. Stopped my subscription about a year ago. I now subscribe to Ride Magazine as I also ride a motorbike and get more out of that. Sorry to hear that it hasn't really changed much.
19.
Weren't the Kardashians the nasty aliens in Star trek next generation ? Particularly ugly devils they were too.
I have trouble getting past this every time I hear that name!
20. Can you play Sex On Fire?
21.
I just point blank refused to play Alright Now Its the height of naff.
I agree too. Why are you playing that old dad rock tune for. Bin it and find another song.
22. Hi and welcome to Basschat. You are the 2nd German to introduce themselves today.
23. More great output from BBC4. Enjoyed each one.
24. Good to see one of these. I tried one out back in the day but got a 2B instead with the J pickup. The neck on the 1B was a bit chunkier I seem to remember but still a good bass. Charvel build quality is great and they really last. My 2B is still going strong although it's on its 3rd set of pups as I have changed them to activate.
