  2. I am surprised by this! Not run any maths but from my gut the ally would strike me as stronger and more resistant to bending ... bad gut I guess! Sam x
  3. Hi Jon, I've a couple of Ibanez and am happy with them (But they are sub-short scale and there is nothing else out there like them) Not sure if you've come across Low End Lobster, he does a series of bass reviews on youtube. In his review of the SR300 he rated it as 2/5. Sam x
  4. Very sad news I did not know Nick personally, but we had a lovely chat when he bought a bass combo from me. Sending thoughts to his family. Sam x
  5. Andrew contacted me about my Guild, we chatted a few times (and I learned a lot!) then he paid, we met up the next day at Brighton Station for the handover. Such a lovely chap ... top BCer. Sam x
  6. Rather than drilling, could you epoxy them together? Sam x
  7. Would two of these side by side work? 30 mm x 15 mm x 2 mm - Aluminium Rectangular Tube https://www.aluminiumwarehouse.co.uk/products/30-mm-x-15-mm-x-2-mm-aluminium-rectangular-tube?pr_prod_strat=e5_desc&pr_rec_id=ac5f5ceff&pr_rec_pid=6895305949372&pr_ref_pid=6895305851068&pr_seq=uniform Sam x
  8. For setup I keep going back to this set of 4 videos Sam x
  9. Only the tiniest of brushes for me. For a year or so back in 1999 I lived in a flat that was next to 'The House that Jagger' owned (My partner at the time was flatsitting long term for a super well off college friend). On a couple of occasions, we were kept up into the wee hours by the sound of partying and the smell of weed (Jagger had bought the flat below the one we were in and turned it into a music space. About 7 years ago the ukulele band I was in (playing ubass) got the chance to perform on the main stage at the Brighton Dome (OMG it was SO much fun!), where ABBA won Eurovision ... and to top it off, we were assigned the same dressing room they had used ... jättebra!! 10. The power rating (watts) of a resistor just tell you how much power they can cope with, it is fine to use a 1W (I presume the original circuit called for 1/4 or 1/2 watt?). If it were me, I'd try running something really simple (ignoring the footswitches for now) to check that your wiring is OK ... This example seems pretty useful and basic. https://docs.arduino.cc/built-in-examples/communication/Midi/ Sam x
  11. Not ideal. How is your computer connected to the Stomp to send MIDI ... can you not use the computer MIDI in and run a MIDI monitor program on it? You mention Logix Pro so I'm guessing you are Mac based ... this is the MIDI monitor I use https://hautetechnique.com/midi/midiview/ Sam x
  12. Oh my goodness @skidder652003, that sounds horrible! I hope your singer is OK. Defo a place to avoid in future! Sam x
  13. I think it is a matter of how much you need to shorten the strings ... my experience has been when cutting longer stings to a (sub) short scale is that they tend to unwind/unravel ... I suspect is is if one needs to cut them shorter then the 'silk' winder portion. Sam x
  14. Perhaps I'm spoiled in Brighton/Hove ... 30 mins each way is my limit. Sam x
  15. Nothing significant ... I lost most of them in my fire (They were local saves only) Sam x
  16. All the designs I've done of late (Bass/Pedal/MIDI Controller/Pedalboard/Etc) have started as a pencil sketch and then are completed in Fusion 360 using the free account. Sam x
  17. After a few years of multi-fx I've discovered (mostly) what f/x I like to use and decided to have a go using physical pedals. Took it along to a jam evening on Thursday to have a play and it does produce some really nice sounds. I'm using 9v batteries for power (button batteries for the tuner) to save the weight of a PSU. It could do with a volume pedal and perhaps a chorus & reverb ... tho at that point it outgrows the pedalboard I've got and also starts to come in quite heavy. Sam x
  18. The title says it all ... I'd love to hear about the various ways you use. Sam x
  19. OMG ... brilliant! I've a 3018 (tho I still need to clean it up from fire damage) this would be a great first thing to try it on post refurb! Sam x
