  1. My Dwarf audio processor has both types of USB. One is used to connect to a computer and is used to access the web interface from a browser on the computer. The other is designed to have a USB 'Device' plugged in, such as a memory stick; this port can take the M-Vave USB cable and receive MIDI over it, it also provides power over the cable; this is the port I use to connect the Dwarf to my Morningstar MC6 via the MC6 USB port to carry MIDI and power. 2. The USB port on the M-Vave and the one on the Zoom are both designed to be connected to a computer USB port (USB Host), they cannot be connected directly to one another, they are both USB 'Devices', like a mouse or keyboard. The bluetooth dongle is also designed to plug into a computer USB port (In this example it just plugs into the power brick), but it also has a socket that looks like a computer USB port (USB Host) and the Zoom can then be plugged into this. This guy has a tutorial. Sam x
  3. Not something I've ever considered, I seem to get enough (info and GAS drivers) from BC and other online sources. Sam x
  4. Some videos I've come across recently to share the power of the Dwarf! As you may have realised, I'm a huge fan ... are there any other audio processors that support effects, audio playback, synth generation, neural modelling and IRs all with multiple (Unlimited!?) pathways/chains? Sam x
  5. I concur ... I've got S-Locks on my three basses and two straps, they can be a bit fiddly to clip/unclip (and are not cheap) but they are very secure IME. Sam x
  6. For me it's a Tuner Compressor (Based on MXR Dyna Comp) Frequency Split @ 200Hz High goes through Octave (Based on OC-2) Distortion (Based on Dude pedal) then joins the Low and both enter Reverb for some 'room simulation' All of the above run on a MOD Dwarf audio processor (https://mod.audio/dwarf/), as does an MP3 audio player for our drum backing tracks. I'm starting to build a plugin that aims to behave like a Beat Buddy to drive a cajon generator to replace the backing tracks. I've also a Morningstar MC6 MkII and a small expression pedal to MIDI the hell out of the system. It all sounds sweet running into a TE Elf -> PJB C4. I've recently acquired an amp head that has direct input to the power amp which is very neutral, so I am starting to play with some neural models of different amps/cabs on the Dwarf. Sam x
  7. It strikes me that a seed for randomness in generating a random sequence for scatter winding is not important, in fact I can imagine that each scatter pup being randomised in the same way could be an advantage. Sam x
  8. You sir, are a fabrication GOD! Sam x
  9. She is thank you! I'm considering stripping the gloss coat shell off Quinn and oiling her. Sam x
  10. Quinn - GSRM25 Fyra - GSRM20B ʻElima KALA California 5 string fretless ubass Sam x
  11. And I'm out! I snagged a pair of preloved guitar stands here on BC, they were free ... I only had to cover postage so I was going to throw myself on the mercy of the judges. but Then ... somehow ... a MOTU M4 Audio Interface fell into my basket and I bought it (A cracking bit of kit!). Sam x
  12. Hi Dave, welcome to BassChat! I'm also a lover of shortscales and lightweight cabs (Bad back innit!) Sam x
  13. When I was looking at 3D printing a body, this was one I really liked (Tho I'd choose a different colour) https://electricflapjack.com/builds/phase-two/algen/ Sam x
  14. Which particular Scarlett model? 2i2,4i4, somethng else? Sam x
  15. OMG ... I've toyed with that too! Sam x
  16. Hope they can sort it quickly for you! As you mentioned, I'd definitely sort a similar issue myself, but my Dwarf is no longer under warranty. Sam x
  17. Nice review, thank you! I LOVE PJB gear! Interesting that the low B sounds OK as PJB quote the X4 as having a range of 72Hz – 15KHz, I guess it is the harmonics coming through. Sam x
  18. I was the fortunate BCer who snagged the Elf that @FinnDave mentioned, what a wonder it is! It rattles windows thru my PJB C4 and sounds glorious! @asingardenof, my power socket also shifts back and forth about 2mm ... odd, as the photos linked to by @ossyrocks seem to show some sort of sealant on the top of the socket that presumably should prevent this Sam x

  20. I first started playing bass (About 2016) as a member of a ukulele band. Loved it! Playing a ubass evolved into playing bass guitar (Sub short scale) and I was off. Sadly in early 2023 'artistic differences' led to me leaving the band (They booted me out ... still not sure why) I'm trying to start a new band but it is not going well, just two of us at the moment. Once a month I do get the chance to join in a local jam group where 15-30 folks uke to the max and it is fun, but I really miss the buzz of gigging. I am finding it so hard to practice without having an aim, a gig. Sam x
