1. Oh yes, the time is right and the moment is ripe and, errm, lots of other stuff basically meaning 'yes let's do it'
2. No... she got pissed off about a perceived sexism issue a while back, and disappeared completely. AFAIK she hasn't been back at all since. Shame.
3. I'm slightly further out in the sticks, in Nailsea, but hey it isn't far into town
4.
Epilepsy isn't like fainting.
Sheeeit, you aren't wrong there. I'm amazed she managed to play at all -- whenever I've had a seizure in the past it's taken me hours, days to start feeling right again. Christ, it takes me a while to even remember my own name, never mind how to play.
5. I want them to make a fretless 5 just like this. Perhaps if I asked them nicely they would. Please Squier, make a nice fretless deluxe Jazz V, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease
6. Bristle? 'Tiz a big zity near Port-Zed and Nelzy, 'nit?
7. You'm learned the krek waiters peak Bristle, 'av 'ee? Gert lush!
8. Hi Pete and welcome, from a fellow Bristol bassist also in a big soul-r'n'b-pop-funk-lunacy band (see sig for details!) There's a whole load of us Bristlers on here, we're going to have to organise another BC-Bristol night on the ale soon!
9.
Bass Cellar... I gave up going there after getting fed up with either their total indifference or else being made to feel as welcome as a turd in a swimming pool.
+1. They will never get any of my money.
So I was wondering are there any bass only shops/ guitar shops with big bass sections that you walk away form with a big grin on your face EVERY time you go in.....
Yes... the Bass Centre, in Wapping, circa 1986 *sigh* ahhhh those were the days, my friend...
10.
Also, look in the BC For Sale section.
+1, definitely a good place to start. Buy in confidence from one of our august body!

13. 1. Is a light bass cabinet important to you? Y 2. Would you be interested in a smaller designed cabinet for maximum portability? Indifferent 3. What is the weight of your current rig now? approx 40 Kg 4. Have you ever had portability issues with this cabinet before? N 5. Would a Neo speaker make the amplifier more appealing? N 6. Would you want casters on the amplifier for added portability? N 7. Would you want the input to be in the back? Y 8. Would you want the Ohm rating to be 4? N 9. Would you want the power rating to be over 200 watts? Y 10. Is a metal grille cover attractive on an amplifier? Y
14. The "people who play in covers bands aren't musicians and have just sold their souls etc" thing is pure snobbery, and the sort of attitude that pisses me off quicker than almost anything else (with the possible exception of the Daily Mail, wasps and Simon Cowell). Anyone who trots out that line is basically a twunt of the highest order. Pete summed it up for me when he said
the integrity lies in using whatever talent you have to produce the best results that you can and in doing that, giving your audience a good time
EDIT: NWOBHM = New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. In the main, it was pretty much as dreadful as it sounds. With the obvious exceptions, e.g. Johngh's band, whoever they were.
15. That's gorgeous. Me, I'd have had the back woods on the front, if you see what I mean. But even so, that's very lovely. Hope you can last 10 days without chewing your nails away to nothing
16. Nice one. Looks like a bloody good 200 quids' worth.
17. Hey, each to his own and all that, but the wooden scratchplate thing just isn't working for me... I can't see the point of having a lovely wood facing and then covering much of it up with a slab of less interesting wood... Apart from that, sounds like a really cool project! Will be watching this with interest. And FWIW, my vote is 'yes LEDs, no blocks'.
18. My main cables are a pair of Klotz ones (Klotzes?) which I bought in 1987... they're still going strong, never a single problem, but when they do die you can bet your ass that none of my money will be going to the Monster people.
19. Well it does have a solid top. Anyway, I doubt very much that tonewood will be much of an issue on a violin bass strung with tapewounds!
20. A Shuker case?? Me want, me want!

Ye gods, I'd hate to see his idea of 'shoddy'.
22. The only Lakky I've tried is P-T-P's white DJ5... it was absolutely {insert superlative of your choice here}.

24. I had a beautiful Sei Flamboyant for a while, and now have a Shuker. I priced up the Sei using the old price list, and to have it made new would have cost roughly double what the Shuker cost me. It would also have been at least 1k more than a thru-neck Shuker Elite built to the same spec. Lovely bass though my Sei was, it wasn't 1k(+20%) better than a similar Shuke would have been, and definitely wasn't x2(+20%) better than my Shuke is.
