You'd be better off buying a reel of copper wire and / or a gold ingot for real investment return http://www.copperpriceuk.com/ http://goldprice.org/gold-price-uk.html
They're perfect for a 'replica project".
Or... you can go crazy and do what I did to mine:

Well there's no denying these are all great bass players, but my brain is smart enough to reject being fed an unwanted subliminal induction about Warwick basses, which this video is all about, it gives me the opposite of gas when I see these blokes (and girl) that can all play bass, and thinking, with their fame and fortune, do they really need to suck up to Warwick so much and talk like they've been plugged into the "Warwick Matrix"?

A fantastic bass, perfectly built, great basswood resonant body. I bought mine in GAK Brighton for £249, amazing that one year on it becomes £100 dearer. My only complaint were the pickups which I replaced with SD's Stacked humbuckers and after that the bass was scary.

I've got some rack patch leads dating 1980 and they still work.

This month's BGM (Bass Guitar Mag) has a very positive review on 2 other Ding's, if you care to read it click below (p.s. ATT All Agony Aunties = I realize it is probably not allowed for us to reproduce articles from magazines, but hey... do I look bothered?) The headstock is an acquired taste. It might be different in terms of looks but it's actually a crafty clever design that reduces weight and has all the tuning pegs recessed or countersunk to give the necessary break angle tension without the need for string tree retainers which would otherwise add weight and spoil the look.
I only just checked this out. I don't usually read Dingwall threads as they are expensive and I want one That is truly superb! Now, how much will I get for a kidney?
Have you heard one yet? 'ckin' amazing they are, I tell ya, try this:

I've found the "holy grail" of P-Bass pickup to be a Lollar, yes it's pricey, but when you hear it, you'll know where the extra cash went. Guaranteed satisfaction. I also have a Lindy Fralin single coil in my 51 Squier CV and that is the nuts too but the Lollar in the ordinary P-Bass is woooshiness, presence, warmth, attack and distinguished clear tone all in one.
I don't know about you guys n' gals , but bottles of Grolsch with the rubber washers on have become very difficult to find around my way. Anyway, ALDI supermarkets are selling one litre glass water bottles for £1.49. These have a lid mechanism very similar to the Grolsch, with a white rubber washer that's just the job for keeping a strap in place. That's nearly £3 for a pair of washers, but it's still cheaper than the Dunlop or Schaller route. Plus you'll have a couple of nice glass bottles that can be used for flower arranging. storing moonshine or making Molotov cocktails.
Try Asda, at £1.76 per bottle would you rather have the beer or the water?

pic added, the offer is there for you, Gareth

Arrange collection at mine of my 2 CV's and you can borrow them both for a month. Got a friend driving to London regularly? Problem solved.

I would think a pickguard would mask that, or not?

Realistically? Put a price to the bass pre-signature, say £150 cause its a 2nd hand Squier, then you must appreciate that Mark Hoppus did not own nor played that bass, it remains in fact Joe Public's bass, and if you are lucky you can add £50 to the value of it, provided that you have means to prove the genuinity of the signature maybe by obtaining an email from Mark Hoppus via his agent that he did sign it and that would be your best bet. Put it this way, music shows where big name artists sign albums and memorabilia are aplenty and all over the world, a signature by someone famous on an item you own doesn't make it big in Sotheby's. My son has had a cheap Ibanez guitar signed by Steve Vai, the guitar is still worth £170 not more. Good luck
It's back now, as it was. Just saving the funds for our upgrade and added a few more things to my list of jobs! I might have a play with the forum again to split it into categories at some point, I like that idea. Cheers ped
The devil makes work for idle hands -
Any idea why the OP should have thought that the 200w version should have been so quiet then? Was it a faulty unit?
Well I don't know, it'd be worth asking the op.

Describe what you'd like to see yourself playing in the next 10 years, also what sort of innovations, advantages you'd like to see featured in a bass 10 years from now? Not just gadgets, like onboard tuner and onboard effects, I mean real innovation in bass building, scale, frets, necks, pickups etcetera? There are quite a few manufacturers who are members of this forum and perhaps by them reading this thread, ideas and suggestion can be made possible, so provide whatever sensible suggestion you might have and let's see which of these will materliaze in the future. Oh and forget the EBMM gamechanger, that is just electronic fudge. Manufacturing and playbility innovations is what this is all about.

No worries it's a good echo, keep it going so it won't be just a bunch of us understanding it but more and more people. What baffles me is the fact that people think that unless they have 200 to 500 watt they can't gig an amp, yet the 30 Watts this thing has seem to be a lot louder than you expect and manages to get away with most average sized venues and when you need more there's always a D.I. output that will save the day.
