  1. Yeah the pod go appears to be it’s own thing and not quite as flexible in the choices offered in the HX kit

No problem it’s a shame Aguilar didn’t do a comprehensive manual and explain how the unit reacts with the gain engaged.

The TH is a great unit and can do a really nice crisp clean tone but you can also make it a bit more edgy. If you haven’t seen this blurb already have a read of my post in the link- post number 7. It’s originally from Eubert on Talkbass and it’s really useful for getting the most out of your TH if you want to get it a bit more characterful and introduce some drive/warmth!
  4. I don’t use chorus much beyond messing about at home but this would be the one I’d buy if I used it on a regular basis. MXR Bass Innovations make some tasty units.
  5. not sure about configure but if you use the <Page> arrows you can access further parameters depending on the amp/cab/effect type. Pressing the knob resets back to what the original value was (from memory) on each of the three displayed values. The manual or quick guide is worth a look but I’m not sure you can assign anything other than scroll through.
  6. The mods actually remind me a bit of the pawn shop series basses Fender made and I think they would have been feeling pretty smug and clever with themselves if this type of ‘pawn shop’ mod was their idea. In my head it makes perfect sense!
  7. My jmj has a thicker headstock but I believe that’s a feature of the 60’s version it was based on. Probably ‘helps’ with the tone?!?
  8. Love that wee tone knob hiding on the scratch plate. Very nice!
  9. I know the weathers pretty bad today but…😀
  10. Only if it’s the DI overkill game!🙂
  11. Small tweaks to mine. It won’t be triggering any ‘events’ in the immediate future even with all the transformers involved! 😀 A comp, a preamp/EQ, some tubes and transformers going direct to the desk (and IEM’s) but also routed to the amp via a dirt pedal for when I take an amp to gigs. I may tidy the board…but I’ll need more of that grippy stuff. Looking forward to the next few chances to get it tried out. Sounds bon at home!
  12. Another vote for the spark booster - an always on type of pedal which can be set just so. In saying that I also have a Fender 'Trapper Bass' Distortion and it can do a wider range of tones from very minimal/just a hint of grit to much more full on. If you're after some versatility it's a very good option and I haven't really seen too much fanfare on here for it. It has a clean blend and a cross-over on one of the channels and another less involved (Gain Tone Level) side which can then be stacked for additional gnarl! The clean blend channel really lets you dial it in - a big bass sound without sacrificing low end and requires minimal effort.
  13. Price drop bump
  14. I’ve been rehearsing again and it’s good but we just can’t lock in a reliable guitarist. I’m told we have three auditioning next week! Is the new stuff original material or similar stuff to the JBC stuff? I’d looked at some original material bands but the stuff wasn’t really grabbing me.
  15. Has JBC called it a day or are you off experimenting in pastures new? I’ve started in an 80’s thing and I’m looking forward to some of the legacy synth stuff just to see if it’s useable although I’m hooking the iPad to moog app with convincing results! The update link on the last page has info on all the versions where the updates will work. I’d imagine the Go will get the same update as the rest. No reason why it shouldn’t. Update. It looks like it’s only HX kit so I guess the Go isn’t included.
  16. Yeah they’re fun for the soundscapes stuff and losing half an hour but I’ve dialled in some go to patches for my needs. It’ll be fun trying the Bassmaster out.
  17. The ongoing support/updates has been good.
  18. Mines been in the gig bag for a couple of rehearsals. I’ll have to get it plugged in today and updated. I was wondering when we were getting an update.
  19. I’ve tried the Noble/Cali combo and it’s a really good pairing. You’ll struggle to make your bass sound sweeter especially with the low cut engaged/bass boosted. It just adds the right kind of lows.
  20. I sent Sean some money and he very promptly sent me a pedal. Top notch!
  21. Quite like the form factor of this new Zoom.
  22. A lovely bit of Lakland history! This would be sold in minutes if it was on our American counterparts bass forum!
