1. My buddy has an Allen and Heath mixer so we are going to repeat your experiment next week. I have full stems for three songs and we are going to have a bit of a mixing session
2. I absolutely want a Zed-R16 now...thanks
3. Mmm. It seems to me that as you're not doing actually any mixing on the console, similar results could be had by simply running the final stereo mix through a nice analogue preamp. And of course if you also run it through an eq and a compressor, you're basically mastering the track. I've got a cheap Behringer tube preamp I use when recording acoustic guitar, I could try and run a finished mix through that and see if it helps "de-digitalize" it!
4. I would love to hear my TC BH550 through a One10. I think I might actually die from it though.
5. This is something I'm really interested in but I need to ask a very stupid question To route the signal from the DAW/computer to a mixer/console, do you need an interface with loads of outputs? One per track? Or is there a clever or obvious solution that I'm missing? I'm starting to do a little more OTB with regard to guitar parts...using an amp sim and other pedals as opposed to plugins. I find the more analogue technology I use in my signal path the happier I am with the results.
6. This thread is not helping me in the slightest. Does anyone want to trade a Gen1 Compact for a One10?
7. I'm going to embarrass myself further and say T1 was mixed in the box and T2 was mixed through a console.
8. I have opinions on replacement pickups...here they are IMHO the reason I don't like the sound of the pickups on cheaper guitars and basses is that they tend to use ceramic magnets. Now of course many people love the sound of ceramics but I'm not just one of them. So with a cheap Chinese tele my first thought would be to swap them for alnico equipped pickups. I think the change from ceramic to alnico is far more important than brand/price etc. I have used Artec alnico pickups in the past and always been very pleased with them but I would literally just get any set of alnico pickups and expect an improvement. However I have no idea what I'm talking about,
9. I think I preferred T2...it sounded a touch warmer to me. My ears are useless though
10. Being a better guitarist than the guitarists. That gets very frustrating. EDIT: Even though I'm a crappy guitar player

My gear

That is an awesome looking rig of doom! Nice one.
12. Well done...congratulations on getting out there! Try to keep the momentum going and do it again soon. Rehearsals are no substitute for gig experience and it won't be long until it will all feel very natural.
13. Yeah...it was a tough call...but I guess I'm more of a Fender man. Or Fender wannabe at least
14. Skipped past the chat...and then lasted about half a second. I agree totally. Take your hat off you disrespectful little twat. The half second of bass playing I saw was awful.
15. Just ordered an American Sound from Aliexpress for £21.51! I've been watching some YT demos and it sounds pretty amazing to my ears. I'm planning to record with it and if I ever jump on guitar for a song, to put it straight into the PA. And now the waiting begins
16. My set neck Retrovibe Aero 2. Really comfortable to play. It's white. I added a zero fret mod. I like it.
17.
The head in the RS210c is an RS series head, which is a very different animal from the BH550, 'though. I love the Markbass LM3 and find it very warm but the guitarist in a previous band had a BH550 head with 2x 212 cabs and I have to admit I thought it made very good sounds. Pretty full. I liked that better than my RS450 rig.
Yeah I think it was the Aguilar cab that wasn't to my liking...I am sure the LM3 with a different cab would have been much better.
18. I get plenty of output from mine...especially with the very efficient Barefaced cab. The TC eq is really musical...a small boost of the low mids sounds huge. As for the Toneprints...I currently use a Windows phone so I'm buggered Actually I have the Spectracomp loaded in the first position and set that at 12 o'clock. I think I have a drive sound on position 2 but I never use it. Very happy with the rig.
19. I used to play a Markbass LMII through an Aguilar 1x12 (I forget exactly which model) and now I use a TC BH550 through a Barefaced Gen1 Compact. The Markbass rig always sounded a little harsh and aggressive to me whereas my current rig is very full and warm. I would absolutely go TC head with a BF One10...especially with PA support.
