Tbh I only gave it it's first blast at practice yesterday ( where my cab lives) so not a truly in depth mess around with it as I'd of liked.the Vt has always been my safety net sound with my band after playing Ampeg for so long, I'm sure with a bit more playing I could probably loose it?....it just felt like a wonderful tube amp to me ,:-).

It was a shot in the dark with this head as there is not many reviews or demos around....for my kind of style anyways ( drop C pick playing) This Michel leauge demo is a smooth example of the 500.

I've recently received this markbass tte800 in a trade.. In the past it's mainly been tube amps for me, I've had a couple of SVT cl's Orange Ad200 and of late a fender superbassman.After getting my last amp(GK 1001) trying to downsize weight,I sorely missed that tube tone "heft"....so i was convinced I had to have a big valve job again. I was offered the markbass so I thought I'd give it ago since I've never had a lightweight class D head ( late to the party).....and Crikey it's bloody wonderful 🙂 It really does sound and feel like a tube amp...heft,touch,punch...the works! and God it can get stupid loud if wanted. It reminds me of the Orange tube head in tone with a little less gain on tap but with more punch. After Adding a little blended tech21 Vt to the mix .... this is feeling like it might be my perfect amp. I don't know why there isn't more love for these? I get the minimal eq on it might be a put off, but I can get a fair few different tones out of it.....i imagine with a active bass the simplicity would be a plus? It's a winner 🙂

I read somewhere that they are about 800(real) watts? Where are they £250? Quite interesting tbh

I've always been a bit nervous trading by post....swapped my GK head with Rich's Tte800. Absolutely zero problems 🙂 Excellent com's, fast posting ..tip top basschat member. Deal with confidence. Would happily buy or trade with him again

Not at all "wrong" mate 🙂 I've been through many many overdrives ( expensive and cheap)and the bad monkey into a tube amp or VT bass, p bass with a pick is my no1 overdrive :-)(got 2 spares)....... unmodified ,low and high eq just from maxed and gain a quarter, using the amp sim output(mixer) really is a perfect light growley drive for me.

The valeton pedals are cracking little things.i also have the oc10 and their tremolo. I fancy trying their green fuzz.... big muff clone with active high and low knobs

I had one of these when they came out, loved the crayon side but the hot tube side never got much use tbh. Stonking pedal for the price

It would be nice to see more Darkglass demos using different genre's and more traditional type basses.... All I mainly hear is dingwals and metallic sounding metal tunes. I'm sure all his pedals could sound good in other formats. I liked the b3k on lower settings and would be interested to hear what more med type drive this could do

I've been getting major gas for one of these lately https://www.reverendguitars.com/basses/mercalli-4( in cream). Not much in the way of reviews around ze net.....a couple of you tube vids. So has anyone on here played or had experience with one? The spec looks awesome for the price. For reference I play alt rock Drop C tuning 105-50 gauge with a pick.usually use a P bass

Happy for you Paddy. I've had a couple of CL heads ( not the svt2) and you just cannot better the All valve ampeg sound imo. And man! What a price
