  1. Bar all the past reliability issues of the previous models( apparently all great now).....the Ampeg 7 pro is supposed to get as close as to SVT 2 as can be . Thoman have them at a fantastic price atm. There is a lengthy thread here https://www.talkbass.com/threads/ampeg-svt-7-pro-club.901448/ Thinking of trying myself
  2. Would you consider postage on the head?
  3. Pretty much brand New! I thought I'd try a bigger gauge for drop C tuning. Opened them today put them on my p bass , played 2 mins hated the bigger size took em off and repackaged. £14 posted ( the title should read 110-55 btw)
  4. That looks beautiful 🙂 what's the volume like on it? could it cut it with a loud rock band with a 6x10 cab? im quite intreuged by these heads
  5. lord this is bloomin lush! wish i had the dosh
  6. the same (sweet spot)setting i always use on the VT, makes any amp great
  7. Bump for these Superb tuners. Have them on both my basses
  8. One of them kitchen sponges with the green pad on works an absolute treat as well for thinning the gloss on a neck
  9. I thought it might be nice to have a thread for people to look at cost cutting tips when it comes to bass maintenance, accessories, gigging logistics, storage, stage care and any other thing that makes life easier 🙂 If we can put just 1 tip per post it would help scrolling through easier.
  10. It would be quite good to start a thread for bass hacks on budget? Wish I knew loads.
  11. Be great to see what Yamaha bring to the table, would love to see a 200w svt
  12. When I first got my CL head I had the eq all at 12 and was very underwhelmed, after playing with the eq and ( as mentioned above) playing in a band context I understood why it's the classic. Maybe a lot of negative comments ( only talking about the valve heads mind) are from people who have tried the head on their own and not with a band?
  13. As a lot of you I try to do most of the set up and repair work myself on a bass ,especially set up as to an extent its quiet personal to your playing style(bar neck relief, levelling ) I use roto rounds strings and they scratch the hell out of frets. I've tried the different grit fret rubbers that you can get which are ok but take a lot of time and work........but one of these fits the bill perfect https://www.wilko.com/en-uk/wilko-nail-buffer-4-in-1/p/0348223....ideal for getting scratches out and buffing back to looking new without taking Much meat off of the frets, £1.20 as well 🙂
  14. I think stage nerves can also effect cramping up
  15. Bump for the EBS fuzzmo, absolutely stonking fuzz that's easy to cut through the mix with.... whoever nabs it won't be disappointed
  16. Awesome heads. I played one for a few years... i always found it to be a little bass heavy (obviously dependent on the style of music you play) i used to roll the bass back to a quarter, bump the mids and high a little, freq selector in the middle with the ultra's engaged then i was in tone heaven 🙂 ( never been able to fully replicate that sound) Totally agree on letting the thing fully warm up to get the best , plus i always left it in standby for 5-10 mins before switching off. good on you :-).......just wish i could put up with the weight again
  17. Are you sure it's not dollers? I've just watched a American guy asking the mooer man chin about retail price and he said $699 Still pricey mind
  18. Or Tom at cog effects
  19. trade pending
  20. i'd definitly be interested in how this sounds ( quite fond of TECH21).but any Artist's signiture/endorsed gear looks ever so much better without massive signitures and/or self portraites splashed over the product, imo subtlety is better for non fans who want to try the gear...i thought my markbassTTE 800 looked cool but ruined by having "randy jackson" splashed on it . im Not a big rush or Geddy fan (nice tones and playing though) , so having his mug over a pedal could probably put me off buying one (fickle i know)
  21. I think it has internal trim pots for each channel volume inside the pedal as well
  22. I wonder how much dedicated bass models and effects it will have? As they don't seem to have much for us in a lot of their other ranges
  23. That medium roast knob looks so close to the foot switch, I imagine it'll be a knightmare clicking it without catching your setting
