  1. Cool. Where did you buy it from?? And what colour? ....... think I'll be getting the black. Please let us know your thoughts when it lands 🙂
  2. Hopefully soon. I get the feeling basstheworld are fairly honest in their reviews from the many I have watched
  3. I never really looked at Cort basses before, assumed most were cheap budget types..... but these look awesome for the price. I'd have one over a sire Any day I think. Hipshot ultralights, barts , markbass pre Plus.....a roasted maple neck( lush ) all just over £500 Think I'll be trying one after rebate
  4. Thanks for the heads up Al, but I'm all good now 🙂
  5. Having to downsize because of new car 😞 . Wonderful sounding USA made cab ( I prefer it to the 8x10)it loves valve heads and power. A few tolex snags but cones are perfect. If anyone fancies a swap for a decent 4ohm 4x10?im Not wanting the ampeg 4x10hlf......... but ebs,Eden xlt, gk etc would be cool. W.h.y Happy to drive in the sw for a trade, but definitely not up for posting.
  6. There is a non pro svt2 for 799 and a pro around 1200 on eBay atm , I've seen them sell around 7-800 on here in the past. And around 350-450 for the 610.... I suffer the weight of my ampeg 6x10 as I love it 😉 I guess 1200 is a good guestimate
  7. Going from ampeg to orange takes a lot of adjusting for sound imo . I had a svt cl and went to a orange ad200 ( same eq as terror) and absolutely hated the way the eq worked, no matter what I did it was very muddy in comparison.
  8. Bar all the past reliability issues of the previous models( apparently all great now).....the Ampeg 7 pro is supposed to get as close as to SVT 2 as can be . Thoman have them at a fantastic price atm. There is a lengthy thread here https://www.talkbass.com/threads/ampeg-svt-7-pro-club.901448/ Thinking of trying myself
  9. Would you consider postage on the head?
  10. Pretty much brand New! I thought I'd try a bigger gauge for drop C tuning. Opened them today put them on my p bass , played 2 mins hated the bigger size took em off and repackaged. £14 posted ( the title should read 110-55 btw)
  11. That looks beautiful 🙂 what's the volume like on it? could it cut it with a loud rock band with a 6x10 cab? im quite intreuged by these heads
  12. lord this is bloomin lush! wish i had the dosh
  13. the same (sweet spot)setting i always use on the VT, makes any amp great
  14. Bump for these Superb tuners. Have them on both my basses
  15. One of them kitchen sponges with the green pad on works an absolute treat as well for thinning the gloss on a neck
  16. I thought it might be nice to have a thread for people to look at cost cutting tips when it comes to bass maintenance, accessories, gigging logistics, storage, stage care and any other thing that makes life easier 🙂 If we can put just 1 tip per post it would help scrolling through easier.
  17. It would be quite good to start a thread for bass hacks on budget? Wish I knew loads.
  18. Be great to see what Yamaha bring to the table, would love to see a 200w svt
  19. When I first got my CL head I had the eq all at 12 and was very underwhelmed, after playing with the eq and ( as mentioned above) playing in a band context I understood why it's the classic. Maybe a lot of negative comments ( only talking about the valve heads mind) are from people who have tried the head on their own and not with a band?
  20. As a lot of you I try to do most of the set up and repair work myself on a bass ,especially set up as to an extent its quiet personal to your playing style(bar neck relief, levelling ) I use roto rounds strings and they scratch the hell out of frets. I've tried the different grit fret rubbers that you can get which are ok but take a lot of time and work........but one of these fits the bill perfect https://www.wilko.com/en-uk/wilko-nail-buffer-4-in-1/p/0348223....ideal for getting scratches out and buffing back to looking new without taking Much meat off of the frets, £1.20 as well 🙂
  21. I think stage nerves can also effect cramping up
  22. Bump for the EBS fuzzmo, absolutely stonking fuzz that's easy to cut through the mix with.... whoever nabs it won't be disappointed
  23. Awesome heads. I played one for a few years... i always found it to be a little bass heavy (obviously dependent on the style of music you play) i used to roll the bass back to a quarter, bump the mids and high a little, freq selector in the middle with the ultra's engaged then i was in tone heaven 🙂 ( never been able to fully replicate that sound) Totally agree on letting the thing fully warm up to get the best , plus i always left it in standby for 5-10 mins before switching off. good on you :-).......just wish i could put up with the weight again
