1. Almost can't believe Im doing this, Ive only had the bass just over a month and its a beauty! but I just cant get the aggression I want out of it. The spec 34" scale 26 frets 5 piece laminated mahogany, white sycamore veneer neck maple f/board two way truss rod carbon fibre reinforced neck medium jumbo fretwire 2mm black side dots satin lacqure on neck / fboard mahogany body burr imbuya part curve top 6 bolt recessed neck polyester basecoat wet look gloss topcoat black hardware individual ABM tuner bridges 20mm spacing at bridge Delano JMVC split coil pickups Shuker 3 band eq (vol, pan, treble, mid, bass. Internal circuit gain control) neck width at the nut : 38.6mm neck width at 12th fret : 57.4mm neck width at 24th fret : 66.5mm neck depth at first fret : 20.0mm neck depth at 12th fret : 22.6mm With the EQ flat the tone is big and warm as you'd expect from a mahogany body, The EQ is very versatile and the bass will produce almost any sound you want it to. Pan up to the bridge and the tone is full but keeps its punch and doesn't become wooly, pan to the bridge and its bitey and snarly. I found the sweet spot to be panned slightly back with slight bass and treble boost. She's an absolute dream to play, as close to ergonomical perfection as I've ever found with a seriously low action and seriously low weight at 4.5 kg (roughly 1/3 the weight of your average ash bodied Jazz). 6 hour rehearsals are easy with her. The weight makes the fullness of the tone hard to believe, I can't even begin to fathom how such a feat was achieved, light weight and full tone without chambers. I'm really only interested in trades (possibly with cash adjustment) but if I see a bass I like on here I'll put a for sale price up. Trade wise I'm thinking along the lines of EBMM Sterlings and Bongos, maybe even 'Rays but it would have to be the right one I have no use for more than 4 strings, I don't mind what the pickup config is. No real use for piezo though. Hit me up if you're interested, even if you have something else to offer as a trade. Worst I can say is no. Advanced warning though, I may come to my senses and withdraw it. edit - This bass will be at the Cardiff Bass Bash, test drives encouraged. I make great tea

The 1100 on here has dropped again! I'm really tempted but I'm putting myself off because I've never felt comfortable on a Fender P. Even though I don't think it was the sound I didn't like, more the lack of anywhere to put your thumb when playing close to the bridge.
3. I know a guy who has a custom T-bird, Gibson refused to put their TRC on it because he's not an endorsee.
4. I don't know about anyone else but to me those playing positions are pretty useless, if I rest my thumb on anything it's invariably the bridge pickup.
5. Temptation! Gotta love a good faker, is the tone as you'd expect? Or not?
6. f*** me! I can't wait to see the finished product. Does the guy have a site? I may have a job for him :)
7. That's a seriously good looking Faker! Is the thumb rest original?
8. Anyone have a Yamaha BB they wanna bring?
9. I have a headless singlecut bolt on 4 that is the mutts to play. The spec of mine isn't remotely similar so I can't comment on tone but ergonomically these basses are amazing, they feel tiny (my 34" feels the same length as my Hofner)! Buy it someone? I'm bored of shukers ending up on the scrap heap for long times.
10. That's a lot of bass for very little wedge.
11. If only theyd put a 4 up headstock on it!

Anyone got any more experience of the 1100s? I'm quite taken by it

Wouldn't fancy a trade or trade with cash adjustment would you?

Good news!! So if I was to look around for a tidy second hand one preferably active, preferably (but not a massive problem if not) bolt on, what models should I be looking for? I really wouldn't want to spend more than £500 and wouldn't want to buy new.
15. Just googled 1987 bass guitar and I got a Kubicki ex-factor and a Thumb NT. What a great year to have been born!

So I've been watching YouTube videos! According to James Lomenzo, Glen Hughes, Nathan East, Leland Sklar and various other big names there is little point playing much else other than a BB. If all this is true why have I never seen anyone play one? Having never played one it's hard to judge. Do we have any enthusiasts, players, owners, ex owners, haters or lovers in our community? I love the look of them but have never had the pleasure Share your experiences....... GO!
17. Rotosound Swing bass 45-105s. Best strings ever!

Oh it will have no lack of quality input. I shall be touring my SB and either my Wizard equipped jazz or a T-40. Given that I havnt sold them all and bought something else by then. I'd take my Shuker but the band dont think it fits in with our image.

From the pic it could be a heart rock.

Glockenklang

I dont know exactly, ive only seen pics, the heads all look pretty much the same to me, it has a 2x10 and 4x10 cab though. Are they hi-fi sounding? I'm really excited about it! How will it compare to my SVT 4 pro and 8x10 rig?
21. So I'm going on tour to Germany and using a Glockenklang rig while I'm there. Anyone got any advice/experience/info on them? Any help would be appreciated.
22. I really like this!
23. Incidentally does anyone else use music box for rehearsals? I know v8bass does and I do.
