1.
Don't try and get a cat to bark or a dog to purr. If you want P/J then get a bass with those pickups.
+1
2. So today I plugged my 40 into a Marshall guvnor. Bridge pickup in humbucker mode. The sounds was incredible. Like royal blood on crack!
3. You really were! Huge congrats. I'm stoked for you. If slightly jealous....
4.
what kind of price is a red one worth with a hard case but no pickups, might take the pups out of my other basss though
Depending on condition probably £550 tops complete.
5. I'm not gonna be able to make it, I had assumed it was on a Sunday without properly reading the post. I don't finish work until 6 on Saturdays.
6.
Can't wait to hear the Orange rig. I have the RIC.
That was almost too easy
7. I'm in! I've thinned my herd/hoard recently but I can bring my orange AD200 8x10 rig, Lakland Skyline Bob glaub and a T-40. If anyone has a ric they could bring I'm dying to have a go on one
8. Sounds like it would. I've always been intrigued by short scales. Mostly the mustang and eb3.
9. That's gorgeous!
10.
Those headstocks are growing on me.
I agree, it's the bridge I can't get my head around.
11.
As per post above, the price for the 4 string basses range from £1,100 for the standard models to £1,250 with blocks and binding.
I missed that. It's a good price. Although the more I look at them the better looking my Lakland gets.
12. As a big fan of the Skylines I'm pretty excited about these. Hope they come to the UK and don't cost the earth when they do

Choices

Lpb and natural head stock for sure, if it was me I'd go for a parchment/mint green guard and have a tortie knocked up at the same time.
14. Lovely bass this! I had a black 78 that I should never have got rid of.
15.
... Why not make it passive? ...
+1 I don't think I'd ever part with my Lakland. I can't see that it would be a big job to do either.
16. Love this! How's it sound?
17. Gorgeous! Looks really well put together
18.
Growl is such a loose term as it means so many different things to different people - to me, growl is a Precision or Rick being driven hard (think Live at Leeds or early Rush), whereas to some people growl is the back pickup of a Jazz bass. To me that's burp.
I'm with Ben, growl is a P with a pick through a big valve rig with a Sansamp.
19. Pretty much the only thing a 40 can't sound like is a split coil P.
20.
Give me one of your T-40s and it's yours...
My worry is that from what I can gather we have similar taste in tone and basses. If you don't like it there's every chance I won't :/
21.
The only fly in the ointment is Tetsu played on Wishing Well - a Precision, I suspect!
A minor detail, especially since I have a particularly nice p already
22. In an ideal world I'd buy this, lock myself in my music room with some beer and just play all right now and wishing well over and over again.
23. That's lovely! I've had Ray gas for some time now.
24. I always miss these someone PM me when the next one comes around.
25. This must be the bargain of the century
