1. Just tried one in PMT Manchester in the exact same colour. It sounded great and the necks are amazing! If I wasn't being so picky about what I want I'd snap this up, this is more than half the price of new one! A lot of bass for not a lot of money!
 2. Hi Guys I'm selling my Mexican Fender Deluxe Jazz. It's a great looking and sounding bass, with an active EQ and a Badass II bridge. I love this bass but I need the cash to fund either a Warmoth Build, Custom build or Sandberg, I still haven't decided which one yet It's been gigged and has the usual scuffs and scratches, and a bit of buckle rash on the back for added mojo! I've tried to show the worst of these in the pics below. But the scratches aren't visible in most lights, and the buckle rash is on the back so you hardly ever see it! It will come with a Fender soft case, Fender strap and dunlop straplocks. I'm looking for offers around [s]£400[/s] NOW £350 shipped!, these sell for £670 new and don't come with the badass, straplocks or mojo Will trade for Sandberg cali PM or JM but I'm a bit fussy about colours! I'm near to Manchester city centre, collection is preffered but I have a box I can ship this in. 3.
Good point! A straight cash sale would be fine, one wife costs me enough without adding a second! Could always consider an indecent proposal i suppose!
Nah she doesn't play bass
 4.
I'm in the process of selling various stuff (including a kidney )so that I can get one! getting there just need one or two more deals to push on. I played on a couple at PMT m/cr recently-I was really impressed on everthing about them. even though they were right handed.
Do you remember which models they had in PMT? I'm seriously thinking about selling some gear/the wife to get a 'berg
 5. Alex bought an LH500 from me. quick payment and good comms. Would be happy to deal with him again in the future.
 6. We start first set with a Proud Mary/Think/Kiss medley, then 2nd set with All Right Now, seems to work well. Last wedding we did there was a circle around a couple having a Tina Turner dance off on the dance floor, and that was the first song!
 7. Another good tool jakebass introduced me to is irealb. It's an app that has loads of backing tracks, and you can create your own. you can play jazz standards with our without the bass, I've been using it to practice arrpeggios over chord changes and ii-v-i etc.
 8. Sir Duke and I Wish are great, defo helped me. I'd say for me it's been: Things I've learnt that have helped me to become a better player: Sir Duke - Stevie Wonder I Wish - Stevie Wonder Never Too Much - Luther Vandross Canned Heat - Jamiroquai Hey Joe - Hendrix You Got the Love - Joss Stone's Version Things I should probably learn to improve my playing: School Daze - Stanley Clarke Anything by Jaco Loads of Jazz standards The entire standing in the shadows of Motown book Good Times - Chic Now I just need to quit the day job and any bands I'm in. Then I'll have time to become a better player
 9.
pmd
and replied, therefore under offer!
 10.
Easy dude How long have you had it? Also if arranged and paid for courier collection could you box it up? Cheers
Hi I've had it about 2 years, I could fashion a box and have it ready for collection if needed. Thanks Pete
 11. If it's still around then it's yours :-)
 12. On 2nd thoughts £250 is probably a bit too much in the current climate, reduced to £220
 13. Hey Guys My LH500 isn't getting much use since I got my new amp. So it's time to move it on. It's been used but not abused, I've kept it in the 2u flight case since the day I bought it. It's got a class A tube preamp and 500w of power, I've used it both with a Hartke 410 XL and a Barefaced compact and it sounded great, punchy, with deep lows and clear mids/highs. I't comes with the manual, the rubber feet (I had to remove these to get it in the flightcase) and a spider ABS 2u flight case like this one: http://www.spider-en...sp?id=2846-6631 all for £220 collected from just outside Manchester city centre, or I can deliver for free within Greater Manchester (I'd rather not ship as it's pretty heavy) Here's some stuff Hartke say: Hartke LH500 The Hartke LH500 500W Bass Amplifier Head for Hydrive Cabs. Packs a big punch in a portable, roadworthy package. The Hartke LH500, like its big brother LH1000, has a classic 12AX7 Class-A tube front-end design with a solid-state output. Developed with the HyDrive cabs in mind, the LH 500 bass amp head has more than enough power and tone control to drive any cabinet on the market. This bass amp provides you with Treble and Bass Shelving to give its warm tone a little edge. Or use the Brite and Limiter switches to further sculpt your sound. Its intuitive front panel also makes adjustments on the fly a breeze. The Hartke LH500 Bass Amplifier packs a big punch in a portable, roadworthy package. A two-rackspace metal frame chassis, steel faceplate and handles allow for easy, safe transport from gig to gig. With the needs of modern bass players largely centered around volume and versatility, the LH500 is an ideal solution that gives you plenty of options to create the exact sound you're looking for. Hartke LH500 Features:

Packs a big punch in a portable, roadworthy package
500 watts of power
Classic 12AX7 High Voltage Class-A tube preamp circuit
Bass and Treble Shelving, plus mid-peak EQ controls
Selectable brite switch for added high frequency response
Selectable limiter switch with LED indicator
Front panel XLR balanced direct output
Rear panel 1/4-inch effects loop
1/4-inch output connectors
Two-rackspace metal chassis with steel faceplate and handles
14. Just seen this on twitter, very interesting.
 15.
I had a smaller HK system, 600 watts with a central sub and two satellites and found in the smaller venues we used to play the sub and drums vyed for the same space. Very nice sound however. No experience of their more powerful ( and quite expensive systems) however.
I bought this system off Yorks5stringer it's great for smaller venues, I can only imagine the larger more expensive systems would be great. If I could justify the outlay I would probably get one. Thanks Pete
 16. I was on the course with Mike when he bought the bass. It's a beautiful colour and Mike is a stand up guy. Buy with confidence guys!
 17. I've got one of these: http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Ulitimate_Bags_Stands.html Nice and light and plenty or protection etc, and the shoulder straps zip away. I prefer it to the Warwick luxury bags that I've had loads of problems with, and I have a Fender one which I have no confidence. I've seen Jakes Mono and it's really nice but double the price! So I guess it depends on your budget.
 18. We hire in PA for Weddings etc as it's less hassle, we get lights and a sound engineer. Plus me and the drummer ride in the van with the PA and sound guy as we're already paying their petrol. We all live in small flats/houses so we have nowhere to store anything too big -plus we'd have to get a van. For pubs, clubs and smaller functions we use one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HK-AUDIO-SOUNDHOUSE-ONE-600-WATTS-RMS-PA-SYSTEM-SPEAKERS-/150772662240?pt=UK_ConElec_SpeakersPASystems_RL&hash=item231ac03fe0 It's nice and loud and fit's in the back of my astra with my bass gear! I picked one up 2nd hand for about £400. You haven't mentioned lights, if you're playing venues without lights you will probably need at least a basic sound to light system.
 19. Hi It depends on the type of music, but we play Fesh Bar in Macclesfield every couple of months: http://www.fresh-macclesfield.co.uk/, and we've played Hogan's of Hale: http://www.hogansofhale.com/ If you find anymore let me know, I relly struggle to find venues. Thanks Pete
 20. Thought I'd get my tuppence in here! I did a HND in Pop Music Performance, I feel I gained loads of experience over the two years that it would have taken me years to amass if working as a 'pro' musician. I also gained loads of contatcs as my tutors were real life working musicians and loads of the guys on the course are too. I'm not the player I was when I was studying because I don't practice as much as I did then, but some of the guys who managed to make a name and living from music after the course are phenomenal now (two of the guitarists just bought themselves houses). I now play in a fairly busy wedding band, and I have a full time job (gained with those all important transferable skills) where I earn just as much as my wife who has a 'proper' degree. I would say if that's what you want to study, go for it. Put your all into it and try to gain as many contacts and as much experience as you can out of it. Pick a course where the tutors are actually working, gigging musicians. It's never too late in life to change your career path if you find it's not for you. My mum did a teacher training course at 48 years old and now she loves teaching and wouldn't want to do anything else.
 21. Had my first lesson with Jake yesterday. He's a first class player and great guy to deal with. He gave me some great tips, and knew exactly what I needed to work on. He also worked on the areas I wanted to work on, not just a 'one size fits all' approach. If you're thinking of having bass lessons in the Manchester area you can't do much better than Jake.
