  1. I haven't used an amp for a couple of years now. Bass into pedal board including zoom B1Four and Laney Digbeth preamp, straight into desk/PA In ear monitoring for the guitars and vocals and the best bit, a Porter and Davies KT platform for bass and drums. My Ampeg head and stack sits quietly in the garage these days Must get round to selling it..
  2. I found mine a bit noisy so Ive gone back to my trust old boss LMB 3. The difference a compressor makes in our gig level volume negates any fancy compression IMO.
  3. My lad graduates from UWE next week with a 2:1 from exactly the same course. He wanted a macbook pro so we got him a used one for about £300 as I recall. Pretty sure its only 8GB RAM but it handled most stuff they threw at him. Its still going (unlike most of his iphones) and got him through his degree running Logic and pro tools including some light video editing for his final diss.
  4. calling @BigRedX
  5. does anybody actually use reverb or delay at a gig?
  6. Epic pedalboard failure for our guitarist last night. His Golden plexi pedal started smelling really bad and stopped working halfway through the second set. Then he found all his other pedals after that one also didn't work and he thought they had all blown as well, (2 delays and a phaser). So he had to go straight into the amp, no fx, sounded pretty awful to my ears but we soldiered through. I took his pedals home and apart from the plexi they all work fine so its probably a power brick issue or patch leads. He was well relieved when I called him this morning (he's not very good with anything Tech related)
  7. Whipping post is fun.
  8. Open Mic. A barefaced one ten would be an excellent pairing https://barefacedaudio.com/products/one_10
  9. I think any legit message would just ask you to go to their site and log in there rather than click on a link from an email.
  10. Obviously based in Totnes...
  11. actually having another think if you really want to try something for virtually no money get a used zoom B1-Four
  12. another vote for the Laney Digbeth, it sounds great, built like a tank and very reasonable price. https://www.gak.co.uk/en/laney-db-pre-digbeth-bass-preamp-pedal?gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwir2xBhC_ARIsAMTXk84iMLMLOqY2sDoJloqG_tC_0tM-CucXOzdh3aKHxcBNYnXxCiyZ8U8aAiMuEALw_wcB

  14. Played a pub in Exeter, best not not name it. Bit of a spoons look to it and its big Lovely lovely landlord. So maybe 70 or 80 people in there but felt half empty. We played pretty well but just no atmosphere. Couple of punters came up and aked for biz cards and I had run out, typical! Been playing there for years but Im beginning to wonder if its worth it. Good money too...
  15. Macca...only after learning a few beatles tunes, he wasnt too shabby!

  20. Reaper Army in da house! 😀
  21. sold 3 last night, all x Large. If your demographic is older blokes like ours, we pretty much sell only X large and small for their partners. To make it work you need a minimum order run of 50 and keep it strictly black and white. That can get the cost down to about £4 quid a pop. I can recommend Pins and knuckles for great quality at a good price. A card reader is a must. They cost nothing and the commission is very small in comparison to making or not making a sale because punters dont carry cash. Sell them for £15 each, £10 profit per Tee, it soon adds up. we did a day in the studio on the back of T shirt sales alone from the past few months.
