  1. I'm so gutted that I'm going to miss this tour, like others have said it isn't the band everyone thinks of, but it'll be one hell of a band regardless and I'm sure they'll do a fine job of performing the songs. I'd pay that money just to see Freddie Washington to be honest, he really is a wonderful player.
  2. What a nightmare, thanks for sharing. I'll certainly never use them for anything in the future.
  3. I went to the sadowsky factory at the beginning of the year, and fell in love with a satin finish 4 string jazz. At the time it was approximately £2200, I really regret not buying it.
  4. Yeah I was there, top secret blues festival, is that it? Can't remember it but I was there!
  5. Ah yeah he's lovely isn't he, we played the venue he books about a month ago as well. Hope to meet you if we go back there again!
  6. Ah it was a different stage I think, I play with a girl called Elles, we played before King King on what ever stage that was
  7. Hey Pete I played at Colne on Sunday, so I must have met you or your partner, or probably both of you! Thank you for helping to put on a great festival, and for looking after us so well
  8. I frequently have to leave my amp in the back of a transit when touring, both of them have heavy locks on the back, and are proper splitters, but if someone wanted to get in badly they could I'm sure. I take my bass/basses into the accommodation which can be annoying but it gives me peace of mind. I can easily replace what gets left in the van, it's all insured. My old p bass could be too, but I'm becoming a bit sentimental towards it now...
  9. This is now sold. For sale my extremely used mackie sub. Works as it should, hasn't been used in a long time, but it's always been great. Weighs about the same as a collapsed star/ 50 barefaced cabs. (I just googled it, it weighs 105lbs!)Cosmetically it's not that great, but works well. Happy to meet someone around the Bristol area, or further south on the m5, depending on date and time. I have a telescopic pole you can have with it, for the top to sit above it. Thanks for looking.
  10. This has now been sold. For sale is my Japanese Geddy Lee jazz bass. The bass is in used condition, from the front etc it's pretty clean, the back and bottom of the bass do have some marks, which I will get photographs of asap, which will probably be Friday. It's a lovely bass, but as stated on another thread, it's just not getting any use as I have other basses better suited to my needs at the moment. I have not weighed the bass, but can confirm it is on the heavy side. I'll try and weigh it at the end of the week too, along with the photos. It's all original, with the exception of Black scratch plate, I was not given the original when I bought it. New nut. The rest is original to the best of my knowledge. I do not have a case for this bass (was surprised that it didn't fit in my std ebs hiscox like my other fenders, it fits my older hiscox, not my new one i got this year) so local pickup only please or meetup in Bristol/ South West area. £600 £550 seems a fairer price Trades - possibly a 4x10 or 6x10 high end cab, can add cash if necessary. Or an aguilar db750 or db751, with cash your way. Photos to follow shortly, here are a couple I have on my phone already, thanks for looking.
  11. I currently have 4 basses 1978 Precision with flats US Standard Precision with rounds sometimes, nylon tapes at other times Lakland 55-02 The fourth one is a Japanese Geddy Lee Jazz, which I've decided isn't really for me, so going to list that here in the next day or so! Edit: I play music for a living. Some amazing collections here, thanks for sharing everyone!
  12. Yep if you're in the area, the pizza here is amazing quality and great value for money, I recommend a 14. My recommendation Taka Taka, Magic Roll 3 Queens Rd, Triangle S, Bristol BS8 1EZ Open till 4am This place is also very good, great gyros and souvlaki wraps for under £4.
  13. I was in Mansons guitar shop yesterday in Exeter, they have a buttercream precision in the show room, which I decided to try out based on reading this a few days earlier. It is very nice indeed, sometimes I find it hard to keep in mind the latest retail price of fender basses, in my head a US standard still costs under 1k... this however for £650 is definitely worth the money in my opinion. It was very light, sounded really great and had a wonderful neck profile.
  14. I've just got myself one of these, it's really great, I highly recommend it.
  15. I saw Hamish, Molly Duncan and steve ferrone a couple of years ago, perform the whole album Soul Searching. The main bass was a p bass, and Hamish used a mustang bass on a couple of tracks. The track love your life was similar to the record, a p bass doing one part and a mustang with a pick, and some sort of envelope type filter I think, for the second part. It sounded great!
  16. Yeah a big improvement over the previous site, good work!
  17. If you're happy with how it plays and sounds, I think that was more than a fair price, especially when you look at how much second hand fenders of any age are being advertised at currently.
  18. I've always had good experiences dealing with you guys at the gallery, definitely my favourite place in the country that I've been to.
  19. Got a potential sale on one of these, so could split them now, if someone else wants the other one, let me know.
