1.
I don't play an upright but on the AER review I'd expect the reviewer to have actually tried an upright through it. I'll stop now.
Do you want me to try it out when I'm at JHS HQ?
2.
Where did you pull that from?!
Good god. Memories!
3. Check out 'Hurts' and you'll spot our very own Dave Marks playing bass. (for IOW fest anyway)
4. Right, might be there. All depends on companies, however.. .. I'm bringing my new toy up regardless of who I demo for so you can laugh at the brand then fall in love with how it plays.
5.
Ken Smith Ate My Hamster!
You don't know how tempted I am to get that printed on a t-shirt.
6. Sick!
7. That's sick dude!
8. I really want to watch him play to a click. I'm not the best slap player, but I'd like to see how he copes at having to be dead in time 100% of the time..
9.
If i volunteer as "the slap police" and tell off anyone slapping can i go free? Il even wear a no slap t shirt and il have a flashing light on a hat but ofc that could be an issue with any pregnant ladies who may want a wee
Does double thumbing count under the same category as 'slapcrap'?
10. Just sent an email off to my 'peeps', I'll see if they're there and if so what I'm doing for them.
11. Depends what I'm gigging with. If it's the 79' then it's the hardcase. If it's my J then it's a gigbag.
12.
I think we're all forgetting something here. And that's that I was the first to comment on the thread. Do I win some sort of prize?
#310 Prize for me? Please..?
13. This thread has been so epic, I'm thinking we could make a movie out of it. "One mans quest for a new pot. Escalated beyond words. Coming summer 2012"
14. Welcome. I'm from Pompey originally! TK
15.
"f*** off pal, you're having a Turkish" and he'd immediately say "Well, I can post it for a quarter of the price" and you'd immediately say "Well do that, you muppet".
That just made my evening! Haha!
16. I think I've got two left, at 3mb for the two?? I'll use flickr from now on to ease the space on you guys
17.
I came there purely because of a crap fest like this one.
If I'm being honest, Ken, BC is by far the best moderated forum I've ever been on with a very accepting user-base. If you think this is a sh*t storm, this ain't nothing.
18. I'm in for SE one. May run one down in Portsmouth if I get enough interest..?
19. In addition to my previous post - I bought a replacement switch for one of my DigiTech pedals, $20 (whole unit and some extra bits just incase) and their postage (which was stupidly fast) was about £5 ($8 something). And it was delivered by UPS. So.. how come they get it cheaper?
20.
Either way I haven't seen anything that explains how a small electrical part costs $100 to ship.
This. I shipped my amp to Russia for less than that.
21. I've got at least 50 I could play note perfect at any given time. God knows how many I could blag through because I know the changes or spot a pattern and remember the form and for the rest? I've got an extensive pad.
22. Think you can get a MultiComp for under £100 2nd hand, seriously good bit of kit. That said, the Aguilar one ain't half bad either..
23. These videos got sent to me by someone from Lairat basses at MusikMesse - I was just trying to get to grips with the immense bass at the time. Seriously, nicest bass I've played to date. ps. sorry for the ball-ache intro, I now realise it's.. er.. overkill. Three days in at that point, I was flagging like hell.
24. Full details here; https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=119305981487524 It'll be bass madness, and expect a lot of cool gear on show! Would be nice to see some of ya'll there.
25. Get notation down, then go through the grueling task (or not so) of playing through a Simandll double bass methods book. Your fretboard knowledge will be so much better after, you'll be amazed. Also, if you can, get a lesson with Joe Hubbard. He's the don, seriously.
