    Yeah for years. We were always fine - have tried to involve him in projects since our old band broke up. But he’s lost the passion a bit.

    We recently advertised for a guitarist and singer. We didn’t specify a gender/age, but made clear mention that we were in our mid-late 30’s and had family commitments to consider. We had a few younger applicants who were obviously interested but realised that We wouldn’t be sat in the back of a transit up and down the m6 drinking beer and partying til all hours. Eventually got people in a similar age range and it turned out to be 2 blokes. We had a couple of women get in touch and send demos, but they didn’t come back with anything after the initial interest.

    Could’ve been an off day, I’m sure. Had heard that was the consensus on VM though.

    I know someone who worked with him...said he was a “repugnant little sh*t”. So that will do me - said person is the most chilled “get on with everyone” kind of guy too. Interestingly said similar of John whatsisface of ‘Yes’. Said ZZ Top were ace though. Particularly Dusty.

    Yup. I worked in a guitar shop when these were released and we’d just got a ray classic in. My option was take the ray as it was there, or wait a month for a sabre to be delivered. In typical “me” style, I took the ray. I should’ve gone Sabre. This is beautiful.

    Just had a mad unexpected bill. Furious with it to be fair. Have been enjoying this and the Sadowsky, the sadowsky has edged it throughout (for me) but everyone who’s heard it prefers the Status. Its a factory Relic 2tsb. Decent job actually...and I’m a pain for calling out crap relics. Made for Starsailor’s bass player James Stelfox, and it’s been through a fair few hands. My assumption is that like me, many have found it impossible to resist and bought it - but it’s been the last in, first out bass for a fair few people. Now with added East preamp - much like the Sadowsky pre, but less coloured in sound. The only reason it’s this instead of the sadowsky is the 20 (rather than 21) frets. Hiscox Status case, Bass is around 9lbs. Newish Ernie Ball stainless strings - brand new batteries. Manchester (M27) collection. shipping isn’t impossible but have to insist on insured.
