You’re happy to take 4 kids, 2 cats? You’re not having the wife though 😉

Seems about right. Yamaha serial numbers are frigging bonkers.

@Al Krow no - I keep thinking about 5’s since working on @lee650’s 425 - But with the music I’m doing, that B would…ahem B in the way…
-
It’s lovely, a good weight and sounds good. No real need to sell currently.
-
Ah the 350f converted into a 350 not f. it’s red with gold hardware
-
Ah well. Bb300 on the way to Dublin. Happy it’s going to a friend who I’ve recorded for who wanted “the bb sound you get…” And then comes the debate…does the 350 stay. It’s different enough to justify.

There’s one for £1200 on eBay - looks great https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-TRB5-PII-5-STRING-BOUTIQUE-BASS-GUITAR-NEAR-IMMACULATE-CONDITION-/284473576662?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0

Have looked at both ideas. the BB424x in silver or blue flake was going to end up £450 ish as a refin. So I stopped. And the MM sound is good, but I’ve found with the right bit of eq and switch changed to a blend, you can get quite close to a MM sound - my 350 with the reverse P even more so.

They seem to fetch £1300 - £1500 here, don’t come up too often. I had one about 5/6 years ago in bubinga and I regret selling. Think I got £1450

Another, nother deal. My Tune went across the pond and some money and a Yamaha came my way. hHe’s a legend, and has a very healthy bass collection 😜
-
Ah yeah. Forgot about that. Can’t remember how that came about. Don’t think that was ever mine

Wow…Hahahah. wow. Just. Yeah. there we go 😉

And that packaging routine isn’t cheap 😂

Just listed this - it’s lush, but I’m being sensible and the 350 covers the same ground. And as the 350 is sidelined because of the 1600…it seems futile to hang onto it.

Taken in Trade against my Tune. Its absolutely lovely as these old BB’s are, effectively a P bass but with a reversed P. I want to keep it as a flats thumper, but in all honesty, the need isn’t there as I don’t play anything requiring it. I have a bb350 too which is the same bass with an added J, so I can’t even make the excuse that it’s a sound I haven’t got covered. ”M” prefix serial number is 1986. Neck is a beauty, like a slim ish flattened P bass neck. Birdseye grain throughout. Black finish shows a little swirling, but to be fair - it’s in great condition for 35 years of age. Knock on each side and one at the bridge - a bit of a buckle mark on the back, but not gouged. Machineheads are modern 424/1024 units. I don’t have the original tulips - how I got it, and in fairness I know the originals are a bit of a joke (and heavy as hell). weight - scales battery has died, feels solid - 10lbs is my estimate (I know my 414 is 9lbs dead). Shipping can happen at your cost and risk. I have no spare cases or bags so would be a bubble wrap job in a box. Collection from me in sunny Manchester is fine too. Offers are welcome (sensible ones) - not really after trades of any sort, but I’m susceptible to them…an at risk gear monkey.

Think £350 is top dollar on these - think I listed a couple for this but they had a brand new £60 Gotoh bridge apiece and new strings on each and I think a choice of pickguards. anyhow - someone may pay £400 if it’s a specific model they’re after.

I always take picks. While working on new ideas with the Band, I’ll dig one out and give it a go. But as I’ve moved away from regular use I find I’m really clumsy with one so don’t bother much

Just done a Rod tweak on the black bb300. These old bb necks are just like home to me. Bloody brilliant, it’s got flats on it too. I don’t have anything with flats on…hmm. Might be handy…🥴😵💫😂

eBay has some

Alpher made knobs for a while in woods - might be worth asking

I reckon if I’d bought one of the first batch instead of a Jack Casady…I’d still have sold it.
