  1. German Carve; pronounced step (concave) carve on the edge of an instrument…a la Rickenbacker/Fano/Ibanez Artist and Kramer 650b 😉
  2. there’s one on bloody eBay “collection only” in London 🤬
  3. Tonight’s rehearsal reminded me of how important it is, originals wise anyhow. We record everything with a zoom h4n - and I’m the lucky bugger who transfers it all to the WhatsApp group - I don’t mind this, I do it with a few beers and as I use GarageBand it’s all a matter of Bluetooth and review. The laughs we have - Jesus, honestly. We have a great time, we learn our parts and play them, but then develop the tunes in the room. But from my point of view, it’s a time away from being “just” dad and “Mr Travis” at work. I adore my one night a week - a bit sad really, but it’s me being me. And listening through it all - I have a sense of pride the band is developing. Anyhow…rehearsal really works for our band, I know other settings/bands don’t work that way - but I’ve done the “here are the chord sheets, transpose it to B flat” gigs and I really don’t want to do them again. I use it as a social thing. 4 hours - 3.5 of which is playing music.
  4. Now… I’m in no position at all. Ive coveted these basses more than any other without having ever played one. I’ve owned loads of stingrays - these have eluded me. Goddamn it.
  5. It’s stunning - I know I wouldn’t get on with the sound (presume piezo only?), and definitely don’t use the fretless I have enough to justify the expense…but damn it’s a looker.
  6. I really enjoyed figuring out how to use the synth pedals I had (Korg g5/Digitech BSW/Ibanez SB7) as instruments in their own right - how to “play” the pedal. I agree an actual synth/soft synth would be better, but I enjoyed changing my style to play “synth” with a bass (timing/phrasing/pick/fingers etc). No call for it now I’m not doing 80’s/90’s pop covers…but still, I enjoyed it.
  7. That’s bluddddy lovleh.
  8. That photo shows when I was experimenting, I do engage the eq - but not as extreme as that.
  9. Well that’s something special Bri. wow. Wow…WOW! Love it.
  10. Enjoying mine. I will say I was more impressed when I was running an EBS Reidmar 750 into it…but, live and learn. Not sure what I’m doing about amp at the moment. I found it a bit lacking in clarity, wound the horn up and then backed it off a bit, half way through my 3rd rehearsal with it and a bit of a tweak with amp eq and it was doing what I wanted. Listened back to the recordings and it fills the room with warmth better than the EBS410 it replaced - while keeping the clarity and volume.
  11. He used to use a (borrowed) Carlo Robelli budget MM style on certain tracks;
  12. A MM sterling classic - eventually they did a joe dart sterling etc.
  13. It does exist - but it costs. Sadly, as with many things…driven by price.
  14. Had this a few times. I go for the “drop off” option now. Just a minor inconvenience to take it to the local post office, but means I’m not waiting about.
  15. 🤷🏻‍♂️
  16. £275 collected in Manchester. Ive dipped into the Christmas present pot and need to top it up (the wife won’t stand for just a box of milk tray this year - don’t worry, the kids are sorted 😉)
  17. Signature of a signature of a signature…it’ll be reet…
  18. They do signature Les Pauls 🤷🏻‍♂️
  19. That’s unbelievable, @MoJo think it’s time mate.::
  20. Based upon Yamaha BB2024Mx Reverse the P. inlays white - not black, white Pearl pickguard… VVT 2 Colours Available Orange Metallic (like my 414) Shelby Blue Metallic (like the late 90’s AES800b) it Would be made in the Indonesian facility (effectively a 1024) would come with that ace yamaha gigbag, be about £799/£899 and I’d want £50 a bass 😉

    Jeez…taking every ounce of willpower not to ask if you’re passing Manchester
  22. What colour? 😂
  23. Yeah, I thought that too 😂
  24. Has there been any “I played my old one so much I realised that the Jaydee sounded the best” type conversation from him? I know he used the original for more recent recordings etc… I always fancied a downsized version (I know the mk3 is smaller - but it’s still as big as a bb) the mk1 is HUGE hahah.
  25. Message Roland UK - they may do out of warranty repairs, They used to. But I haven’t dealt with them in about 8 years.
