I'd probably replace the signed plate & keep it safe for if & when the day comes to part with it. G.
Thanks Geoff, I'm going to order a new plate and do exactly that. Something I didn't think of. Cheers
I think you'll maybe find that the three notes didn't 'sound a bit like' He's So Fine by The Chiffons - they were in fact the same three notes. The song that Harrison actually had in mind was Oh Happy Day by the Edwin Hawkins SIngers I believe after the court case Harrison bought the rights to He's So Fine.
He tried to at least. The whole case apparently took until 1998 to be settled in full.

I heard a great story told by Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics. He was in the studio, thought he'd come up with this great new idea for a song. He played it to everyone else present, who all turned and said...that's Fame by David Bowie. As far as I remember it's melodies that hold copyright, nothing else. Beaten to it

The red burst Elwood and Jake models look really rather tasty. But I've spent all my bass tokens

A very positive review from Ed Friedland, and he's reviewed enough basses to know. Seems to be a winner to me, even if one were to buy a new one of these basses.

It'd be interesting to find out prices to the Uk as there's no outlet here.

...as well having his male appendage firmly planted on his forehead he also seems to have a huge chip on his shoulder. http://www.theguardian.com/books/2013/oct/18/noel-gallagher-fiction-waste-time
I like Noel, he's an intelligent geezer. But he's in danger of becoming a parody of himself if he carries on like this. He needs a change of pace.
He's nowhere near a parody of himself because he is, and always has been, an arse. He's one of the mascots of the Zoo and Nuts magazine yob/lad culture of don't read books and don't learn anything that might open your eyes to a different way of thinking. He's the sort of person that seems to want to keep those who are from his background where they are and not bother trying to achieve.

A dreadfully written piece that misses one fundamental point...record companies are businesses, businesses that seek to make money like all other businesses. They're not philanthropic charitable organisations there for the whim miserable musos who want more of 'their sort of music' being signed. Record companies are signing acts that sell downloads and cds. Fans of other music don't buy music they download for free...why would a record company bother signing any of those acts?

Some of the basses on the site look very nice indeed.
Yup the white for me too. Are there any passive options or are they all active?
They're passive and active...there's a switch -
Eurovision entry - under achieving as an art form

I do feel sorry for the two people singing this...it probably marks the end of any hope -
That would be the discerning and tasteful choice, nicely done.
Nonsense, be different...buy black -
I'm going to be a miserable old git. She's good, no doubt about that. However, her video was put up 2 years after Huw Foster's (who posts on here) yet has received almost 10000 more views than Huw's. No call me cynical but... Personally, I think Huw Foster absolutely nails it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ejj4y-aPC2E

I am disappointed that you're indoors on a saturday evening watching this...go out and support your local bands.
Surely the first question is pretty important??
Answer that one 4th... raise their expectations, then dash them.

Thank you everyone. I can only speak from personal preference and experience...I really do like this bass. I sincerely do hope anyone who decides to pull the trigger on one of these is as happy as I am with it.

Just answer the last 3. They're the important ones

I'm coming around to Snarky Puppy. God help me innit.

Having the hots for the drummer doesn't make the band any better...good grief. I blame 5 string basses -
You were lucky to get a signed one. Having said that, I'm not sure how many he signed... looks like a really nice Jazz. So tempting - I love the white one with maple neck (surprise!). Have to wait for a while though, it's on the list... maybe later this summer. Congratulations on your new baby! I know you did proper research before pulling the trigger, so thanks for doing that so we don't have to! I'm sure these are going to be very successful. Sue Ryder basses they are not. Though there's nothing wrong with those either - at the price point... Seems like the tone circuit makes it very versatile indeed... could be the weapon of choice for function, event and cover band bass players..?
Cheers Mark. My money and I are difficult to part, so yes, I tend to do a lot of reading about stuff before I buy it
Sloppy-in-the-Knobs. It's a small village in Gloucestershire.
I think my brother might live close to it...
If the worst happens just sign it yourself with a Sharpie. Who'll know?
No one .

I was chuffed to get a signed one...perhaps just a fluke. It's got a plastic film over the neck plate to protect it, if that comes off though I'll have to figure something else out

The 4 string weigh approx 9.5lbs. I think that's similar to a Squier CV Jazz, maybe a couple of oz's more than a Squier VM. I own lighter basses, but the V7 sits nicely on a strap and is comfortable. I played for 3 hours at practice the other night and only put the bass down once for about 10mins.
