1. Welcome. One piece of advice, do not do what I did several years ago - stop playing, then sell your gear in order to buy something else and spend a lot of time regretting it. Only in the most of extreme circumstances should you ever sell your gear- i.e you need to buy food or something. Best of luck
2. stana stair lift?
3. As you have been sold something that is patently not what was described it may come under the distance selling act if it was a merchant. May be worth checking out and it is always nice to launch the word act of law at someone, they tend to wobble a bit.

6.
I'd bet you could find a s/h cube for £100. Worth looking for.
MMmmmmm. Definitely worth a look around.
7.
I'm afraid not Steve, I still haven't worked out how to record properly on my Mac yet.
Some fantastic gear and an excellent choice in computing. You're obviously a connoisseur. Can't help with the recording problem I'm afraid, haven't used my Mac for that yet. Got a little gadget called an iMic that plugs into to a usb port and has a 3.5mm jack the other end, but as I say haven't done anything with it. You may have already done so but you could always try the support pages on the Apple website if you've got a few years to waste trying to find something relevant to what you are looking for.
8.
Never knew Eden did practice amps. What is your budget buddy?
Around the £100 mark so the Ashdown and Marshall sound good options. The cube is very tempting but a bit too much. Thanks for some really good info and links.
9. I was going to buy some new gear this weekend but I don't think I'll bother anymore!!! Perhaps I'll take up fly fishing.
10. I'm with everyone else you did the right thing. Total support.
11. Just got back into playing again. I'm currently borrowing gear but want to get my own. Looking to buy some sort of practice amp. I can't have anything big due to the size of the house and I need to be able to hide it from the kids ( suffice to say the youngest pair are available to tear down houses if you need anything like that doing). Just wandered if anyone had any suggestions.
12. A funking brilliant purchase!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

14. Pretty much starting from scratch again myself. Had a jam with a mate who's a drummer and a guitarist he knew, went ok, but i'm as rusty as an old nail. Want to actually learn to play bass this time rather than just thrash out root notes for 5mins, perhaps a few jars may help me!!!!!!!!!
15. thanks fellow newbie
16. Agree with those who say play with others. It's the best thing you can do. Then combine that with learning scales and all the other 'boring' stuff.
17. Hi there Just signed up to basschat as it seems to have a lot going on on its pages. Have picked up the only real musical instrument again after a 15 year gap, although when I was 'playing' previous was a bit of a 3 note dud. Currently borrowing a Vintage V4 from a drummer. Must admit struggling a bit on returning to playing. Would welcome any advice or tips.!
