1. Two of my best friends were learning to play guitar. Then we all decided to form a band and I was left with either drums or bass (I don't sing, on principle). So it was bass for two reasons 1. I didn't have anywhere to put a drum kit. 2. I wanted to be a musician! (how pretentious).
2.
+1 Rounds. If I wanted my bass to sound like a bass, I'd take lessons.
Rounds. I need lessons!

7. Even if you don't play a Fender (like me) you have to acknowledge that without the man things just wouldn't be the same. Full respect to Leo Fender.
8.
Before: After: Before: After: The sign of a true genius. Do you do commissions?

10. middle age spread gets put on everything - wagon wheels. farley's rusks - two of my fav foods, must have been spread with something cause they are a lot smaller now.
11. Saw them twice in the early 90's. Once at Milton Keynes Bowl then at Wembley Stadium. Never really into them but they were bloody good live. Better than some more established acts!
12.
Bargain!! Can't get much for around £1.50p an hour these days. Well, not since I became too old to be a rent boy
oooh eer! I'm not sure what I've started there
13. BGM is a bit like bass players themselves. Understated but fulfills an essential duty. Wish it was a bit longer finished mine by 3pm yesterday only bought at midday!
14.
Nah, go faster stripes are the way forward. My points on this are. 1. Tell her ASAP and offer to have it repaired. 2. She might be more pissed that you put a pic of her on a site full of men. 3. She is hot and I would, (optional)
Very married couldn't possibly comment. More
15. The common consensus, and I'm with that, is confess your sin. Good thread by the way enjoying this one a lot
16. Anyone know where I can find either the tab or notation for Women by Free. Trawled the usual tab websites with no joy. Thought I'd ask on the off chance. It's not particularly important, just mucking about with some songs thought this one might be alright know!
17. Didn't see this guy on the NME poll!
18. Surprised that they have actually got talented players on the list. Don't know about the rest of you but where is Andy Fraser? Only mention it as I'm listening to Free right know (no pun intended).
19.
don't be soft, Just play!
That just about sums it up
20. Pure filth. You know you posted it on the wrong forum it most definitely belongs in Gear Porn and well you know it. Shame on you. Not that I'm envious or anything.
21. just bought an ibanez sr and the neck is very thin. Haven't got the best hands for playing so find it the most comfortable bass i've owned.
22. Good. And they are from the southwest. See we're not all straw chewing idiots! I am but they aren't
23.
NME? what a f***ing waste of a good tree.
+1. Suprised it's still going. Complete pile of s@*te, that it is.
24.
If you've got a good LMS that's decent, honest and not too pricey then you're in an enviable position. We're fast running out of those where i live. Most seem to be opportunists now, displaying stock with no price tags and making prices up on the spot based on how much they think they can get out of you. I showed a lot of loyalty to one shop in particular (about £3,500 woth of loyalty) only to be repaid with botched repair jobs, ordering incorrect items and refusing to take them back (cos i didn't have the original carton the cab came in) and ripping off a few of my mates.
In that instance I too would be off to the internet. My general rule with anything know is scr@w me over once I'll go elsewhere.
25. Went into LMS yesterday. Actually got some gear I'd been looking at on the internet cheaper in the shop. Quite busy in their as well, and the staff, cannot fault them. Their was a young chap in their buying his first guitar (he must of been only 11) and the staff went through everything with him. Obviously they slipped up a little because they let him buy one of those 6 string affairs that make that horrible squeaky noise. This is then the catch 22. Are we to be selfish and for the sake of £10 buy online or support LMS, because let's face it when they get it right a LMS is a lot better than the internet i.e for those just starting out. What do we do?
