2.
I've heard of an incident of that also . But it was on a tribute . I've strung my L2500 through bridge for getting on for 5 years and haven't had a problem That said ... better to be safe than sorry edit . I see yours is a tribute and I'm no way saying that's a bad thing . I've still only heard of one incident
Yep Nick, I'm with you on this one. Better safe than sorry. I do like the strings though, so will be getting the longer ones.
 3.
Wont they even fit your G&L if they're strung through bridge?
Hi Nick, they will indeed, however there have been a number of "reported incidents" of G&L bridges being ripped off when using the string through bridge option. They are only secured by 2 screws. As it is probably the Bass that gets used the most, I am not going to risk it...
 4. Like a complete arse, I bulk bought 4 Sets of D'Addario EXL 160-5's and have found out they are a gnats whisker too short for my G&L. Had I gone to the DA web-site first I could have avoided such a stupid mistake. So I now know I need the super long version, ( which will also fit my Spector), and these aren't much use to me. All Sold. Thanks All
 5.
Perhaps it suffers because its not particularly fashionable? I love Carlsbro gear. These heads are really under rated by all accounts.
Couldn't agree more BBC. Slap the "flavour of the month" badge on it and it's sold in minutes. This whole rig is absolutely awesome, particularly for the money. Shed loads of trouser flapping, bass. The neo driver in the cab give it loads of mid as well. Just check the pice of an Ashdown ABM115 Neo and you realise what a bargain it is.
 6. I have a couple of spare sets of Web-Strings Detroit Nickels. They are 5-String sets 45/65/80/100/130 I bought a good few sets and they are lasting really well so thought if anyone fancies trying them, I can spare a couple of sets. These are they: http://www.webstrings.com/electric_bass_st...oit-nickel.html They cost me around £11.50 a set including P&P and HM Customs share. How about £11.00 a set posted? ******* Only 1 Set Left *******
 7.
Bring your relatives, Silverfoxnik! The more the merrier!
Will be there again this year. Much better venue than the earlier events. Wife uses it as an excuse to go shopping in Manchester. Could be a dear day. Looking forward to meeting up with John & Barbara Lowe, (Gary's parents). Haven't seen them since last Bass Day due to gigging. Anyone having problems with the BassDay site crashing Internet Explorer. I can't get on it at all.
 8.
bump
Great Guy to deal with and as the previous owner of this rig I can vouch for it. The cab IS a genuine Ashdown ABM 15 with a Celestion Neo fitted. I originally got this from the company that make Ashdown Cabs, (and Trace, Orange, HiWatt, Cornford etc.etc.), as it was left over from an order when Ashdown changed the design of the handles. It was put together by the same team and has a compression horn added. Check the price of the speaker on it's own and you will see what a deal this is. Serious trouser flapping bass from this set-up.

 11. As I only play 5 Strings these days this is the last 4 Stringer I want to part with, (the Jazz is a keeper). Absolutely immaculate Aria Pro Bass 101. Walnut finish, Maple Neck with Rosewood Fingerboard. Active with 3 band equaliser. Single Infinity soapbar pick-up. Cast bridge with thru body or top load stringing options. Never gigged. It is an absolute joy to play with one of the nicest necks I have come across. Xmas Price Reduction £125.00
 12. The gutarist we use in one of the bands I play for used to be in Rick Astley's backing band. HOW COOL IS THAT We have great fun trawling through You Tube videos with him on and taking the p*ss.
 13.
but I get sceptical about set necks and through necks that have been repaired. Still contemplating.
I know what you mean. I sent Steve Robinson pics of the crack before I bought it. If he hadn't been happy that it was a clean failure of the original glue and thus a straightforward repair I would not have bought it originally. He has his reputation to consider and I didn't want to buy trouble. Just one of those things. An itch I wanted to scratch and I switched to Bass before I could scratch it

 15.
Schadenfreude
Now that was a Google job for a definition "A malicious satisfaction obtained from the misfortunes of others" Suppose you are right. Previous owners daughter knock guitar off stand and cracks Scarf joint. I get it at a very reasonable price have it repaired and someone then gets it cheap due to MY misfortune of wanting to sell it at no profit. But not to the dealer who has one advertised at £345 at the moment........ Already told him where to go....
 16. Another +1 for Interparcel, (or should I say DHL). Bought an Item off evilbay and the seller wanted £24 delivery with Royal Mail Parcels. Interparcel was £11.95, (with my 5% discount..), and it was here next day.
 17.
Any comments?
Already Got Mine, but am looking to have an ACG Finn built when I decide what woods etc.
 18. Martin is a man of impecable taste and an eye for value. Bought the "Fecker" P-Bass I had just finished building. A very painless transaction and at one point I thought I may end up with the Cash AND the Bass, as he is a pretty laid back character Only joking Martin and great to meet up with you.
 19. Some bits left over from a P-Bass Fecker project build. Chrome Bridge, (not a bad bridge and quite sturdy) P Bass Pick-Up, Vol and Tone pots and Jack socket all wired up and ready to go. All parts are brand new and removed from a "No-name" P-Bass. £12 for the lot posted.
 20. Not sure if any of you have had a problem getting hold of Mike Walsh, (Zoot Basses and Cabs), since he sold The Bass Merchant. As the Bass Merchant has moved there is a re-direct on their line and they have moved premises. Because of this I understand there is a problem getting hold of Mike to check on progress of Basses and Cabs. I spoke to Mike earlier today to check on the progress of a "Cab to Beat All Cabs" and here is his new number. Mike is still at the old address and his new number is 01376 502930.
 21.
That's interesting. Perhaps we are able to specify a preferred contractor (or whatever the correct word is) when ordering.
You can specify. You are given a number of options when booking.
