2.
If I had the cash, I'd have that off you right now. That's lush.
+1 To that. Shame i don't get on well with 4 Strings. Good luck with the sale Mr S and hows the ACG??????
3. The 2 best pieces of advice i ever got were... 1) It is the silence between the notes that make the notes.... 2) Whatever you are thinking of playing - Halve it. It does kinda work. Sometimes dead simple bass lines are the answer.
4. I would forget about about which basses Cort make for who and try a CORT. They are probably the most underrated instrument available and have "borrowed" a lot of the features from the other lines they produce, eg the switching from G&L. They are fantastic instruments and I would rate my GB75 against anything comparable from Lakland, G&L, Ibanez, Fender etc. All of who they build for.
5.
Also wondered about the Zoots, which seem to have a lot of what I want, but I can't try any,
I've got 2 Zoot 112's. Not the Neo ones. I notice you are North West based and I am in South Manchester. If you fancy trying them, more than welcome.
6. Got to be the new Hartke LH500?? Awesome reviews and there is another posting on the site where they are selling them for about £180. A GIFT
7. I've been using "Power Bugs" for a while now and they last an eternity.
8.
MB1. Massive Mancunian BUMP!
Back at ya MB1.
9. Hi Peter, Some interesting choices but you will certainly get "more bang for your buck" going 2nd Hand. Ibanez is a good choice and also have a look at the Cort range. They make a lot of Ibanez guitars as well as G&L, Lakland and some Fenders. Massively underrated. In the interest of pushing a sale. How about: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=28919&hl=Aria If I was still playing 4 String basses this would not be up for sale. It has one of the nicest necks i have ever played and the 3 band EQ is fantastic. But as I only do 5-String these days, it is sitting around doing nothing. Gives you a spare £100 as well.

11. What a superb collection of players this year. Yolanda Charles and Ricahrd Bona were superb, but T M Stevens absolutely blew me away. What an awesome set and what a character. Nice to meet up with Ped and some other BassChatters. Must get some BC badges nmade next year.
12. Just bought an Aphex Punch Factory from Clarky. Mint condition, as described and arrived the next day. Great guy to deal with and thanks again Clarky.
13.
Bump with price reduction to £45 + postage
PM'd
14. Hi F, Could be interested. Let me know if you do decide to sell it. Cheers, Stuart
15. I got a 1x15 from the same people. They are the manufacturers of Ashdown, (and Trace, Orange, Cornford, Sound City and HiWatt to name but 6), and the deal with these cabs is that they were end of run units. Ashdown changed the design of the handles from rectangular to oval and these cabs had already been CNC'd. The result being they were loaded up with Celestion drivers and sold off. I got mine with a Celestion 15" neo and it was awesome, (and quite light). OK you don't get the Ashdown badge and the red piping is amatter of taste, but genuine Ashdown kit all the same. The company is run by ex-Trace/Ashdown employees and they reckon this was the best cab they ever made.
16.
That went down like a lead balloon. So is the Spector market saturated by the Sound Control fire sale, or is that just a very unrealistic price?
I think there could be an element of the Sound Control situation as anyone who "lives" on this forum will have clocked the fact that Rebops were going for £300. I was one of the fortunate ones to get a Euro 5 so I am a happy chappy. On t'other hand it could just be general lack of money at the moment until we can all get our funds out of Iceland..... Had a look at Homer's ReBop a little while back and they are awesome basses. Good luck with the sale.
17. Wow that is really nice. Come on give us a Ball Park figure!!!!!
18. Another +1 for Interparcel (TNT). Had to send a bass back to The Bass Centre and not only did they collect the Bass but the same guy dropped off a Zoot Cab. Normally it would be 1 delivery guy and 1 collect guy. Someone really got their act together. Oh, and the Bass arrived safe and sound.
19. Having quit one of the bands a couple of months ago here is how it went. I had decided to leave as the relationship between myself and guitarist, (HIS band!!!!), had deteriorated so that we were hardly talking. I decided to tell the band after 1 particular Gig, (out of respect for my other half who sold it), and also there was a 3 week break due to holidays etc . We were using a Dep drummer that night but I told our regular Drummer beforehand as I have the greatest of respect for him and we got on really well. When I came to make my announcement the bloody guitarist pre-empted my announcement in the car park when we were loading by saying, "Stuart, I think we need to talk". My reply, "Well actually A..., I have decided to leave the band so not sure there is any point." I said I would not drop them in it and would play any Gigs they wanted and help find a replacement. Not heard a word since, (which suited me), other than from irate venue owners who haven't had their usual courtesy call before the Gig and "Where are the Posters!"
20.
You will not do any better than these : I-Solutions I-Color 3 and even better if you have a band member prepared to use the foot controller you can get some great light shows. We've had loads of comments on how great the lights are. We use the i-Color 3 set, granted it will cost you about £400 for the full set including the box but the bulbs only cost £1.00 from the DIY shop cos they are std halogens ! PROLIGHT WEBSITE
Cheper alternative is the NJD Quartet or Spectre. Same idea but less expensive. We use them and the are ace.
