1. Since buying a TC Rebelhead, my Compressor and Limiter are now redundant. Already sold the Pedal Board. GLX Limiter. It looks like a Boss LMB-3 Limiter Enhancer, it smells like a Boss LMB-3 Limiter Enhancer and it is made in the same factory as a Boss LMB-3 Limiter Enhancer. Very little use. Boxed, Instructions, Velcroed. £20 posted.
 2. Retail £200 + £70 for the Footswitch, my price only £1500. 10/10 for cheek.
 3.
i'm going down the "blag it" route for those songs that I can listen to enough to get a handle on, already said that Sweet Child is a non starter for tonight (that one will take a bit of learning!) will also take the old band setlist and say "any of those you know?"
I did an audition last week for a Jazz/Blues/Funk/Fusion band. Completely out of my Comfort Zone. Try and get hold of the Chord Charts for the numbers as at least you can follow the numbers with the tried and tested root, fifth, octave system. You will probably find you can then just make it up on the fly. It's amazing what you can come out with when you know the basic structure of a number. Most of all just relax and enjoy it. Remember "they need you more than you need them" Taking an old set-list is a good idea. Good Luck.
 4.
Markbass has less of a 'signature' sound than your Trace gear, a lot more 'transparent' sounding but in a musical way.
I found that when changing to a Little Mark2. I always thought MB Amps to be very transparent until I tried an EA iAmp800 and then a TC Electronics Rebelhead. Now there's transparent. Both make the Little Mark 2 sound quite coloured. Also found MB Cabs to be slightly "warm" as well.
 5.
Wow- No kidding!! that's a whole loada kit in one package- I'll speak with the Guys ASAP Thank you
And believe me for a 500 person venue you will use every ounce of it.... and possibly more....
 6. There you go. Add a mixer and job done. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Gemini-Amp-Speakers-...83#ht_500wt_975
 7.
Right , you can tell by the title I haven’t a clue what I’m doing with recording and midi but basically I want to import a midi file into Cubase , play that back and at the samne time record a bass track over it so ultimately I will have the original midi file with my bass line over it on one file. Should be easy shouldn’t so why was it last night when I imported the midi file I couldn’t get a sound from it. I thought it could use the computer sound card is that wrong Cheers
Funnily enough I had the same problem last night and hadn't had any issues playing MiDi files previously. Not sure if you are using PC or Mac, but i'm using PC and it turned out that the SW Synth Channel on the Master Volume was set to Zero, so no sound. Cranked it up and hey presto. I'm using Windows XP on this particular PC, so went to Programs/Accessories/Entertainment/Volume Control and changed the setting.
 8. That's £110 ONO, so £100 in my books and looks like it includes a case. Even whacking in a cheap pre-amp from Axes r' Us would only cost £20 - 30, so I reckon it is a good buy. If I still played 4 Strings we wouldn't be having this discussion as I would have snapped his hand off.
 9.
From Active to Passive? Financially? Nowt. Nisch. Nada. Pas d'une Fève. Nicht eine Wurst. About 10 minutes with some wirecutters & a soldering iron.
Might be a bit more than "Nowt. Nisch. Nada. Pas d'une Fève. Nicht eine Wurst." The pots used on the active electronics may not be suitable for using passively. That said at around £2.50 for a CTS Pot and a few pence for suitable capacitors, it ain't much.
 10.
Final try at shifting this, otherwise I'll change my cabs and keep it. Offered at £675 delivered.
PM'd,
 11.
Nearly Dan play Band On The Wall in Manchester on Friday 12 February. www.bandonthewall.org Revamped set list for 2010 includes 'Aja', 'Babylon Sisters', 'Cousin Dupree', 'Bad Sneakers', 'Caves Of Altamira', 'Brooklyn', 'Only A Fool Would Say That', 'Showbiz Kids'.
Hope it was a good-un. Gutted as I was in Spain for the day and Band on the Wall is a superb venue since it re-opened..
 12. Hi John, am interested. Could you send details as I have completely lost the plot now.
 13.
Superb! That is just what I needed! If you've done that just for me then... I don't know what to say. I'm extremely grateful. Thank you so much. - martin
Well I for 1 will be using it so thanks a bunch for doing it.
 14. G&L L2500 Tribute. Nuff said. Probably the most versatile bass on the planet. I can't see me ever parting with mine. Blueburst with maple fingerboard it's the mutts nuts. But for gods sake go and play some. one mans meat as they say.
 15.
Muchas gracias, amigos! Out of interest, Doc, is there a specific reason you recommend a stereo socket? The signal's mono, the instrument is passive... I guess there's no harm putting in a stereo socket, and it future-proofs the bass against installing active circuitry in the future. But is there another, fundamentally obvious, reason I'm overlooking? Also (and I'll search myself, for sure), any recommendations on a UK-based supplier? I'm loathe to spend as much or more in import duty and our beloved postal system's infamous 'handling fee' than the cost of the part itself!
If the jack is recessed into the bottom of the body, chances are it's stereo barrel jack anyway. I am pretty sure they don't make a mono version in 1/4". Don't order from a Guitar Parts supplier, go to Maplin. They are only £1.99 and they are Neutrik sockets. Here's the details. 16. I've had similar problems in the past and have solved it by adjusting the pick-ups. If you have, or can get hold of, a mixer. Plug into a channel and play each string in turn with a similar force. Watch the output meter, or LED's and a combination of raising the pick-up on the G string side and lowering on the E String side solved my problems. Last resort would be trying to sort it out with a compressor.
 17. And Here. http://www.preloved.co.uk/fuseaction-adver...7/00546c1f.html
 18. You'd stand a better chance of selling in the For Sale section
 19. I got my Copper Sheet and Copper Tape from here. £5.00 for the lot. http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/stevent1358__W0QQ_armrsZ1
 20.
Hi all I'm a newbie that isn't playing bass, and hasn't done for 6 months due to a new born being er born. Wishing I could find time to start up again but I just cannot get near my poor dust covered bass. So the next best thing to playing bass is talking about bass, so here I am. Speak to ya all soon!
Welcome On Board, or should that be "Bored" I'm just down the road in Altrincam and there are plenty of Northwesterners on here.
 21.
Thanks for that, good suggestion. Neck is 7.20 KOhms, bridge is 7.25 so I reckon that's close enough. Some of the soldering on the 460 isn't great either - it looks like I did it. They don't call me 'blobby nobby' for nothing you know!
I think mine were 6.8 and 6,85K, so same sort of ball park. If the soldering on the blue connector is as bad as mine, (sounds like it), my assumption that it had been tampered with seems wrong. They must have has some cack-handed solderers in the factory.
 22.
Is my SB330 the only one of these to have an adjustable pot on the pre-amp circuitboard? I just had to twiddle that all the way in one direction with a screwdriver and the bridge pickup volume issue was solved. I keep mentioning it but haven't noticed any replies about it!
Hi L, I did reply on Page 8. I could not find a pot on mine at all only a DIP switch that seems to be some sort of pre-set gain control. The pre-amp seems to be split into 4 distinct parts, each attached to the controls. They all come together on the Blend Control with a clip on wiring harness going to the battery, pick-ups and jack socket. I'll try and take a picture later.
 23.
Sounds like the way to go. Can you recommend a supplier, and what did you do about knobs for the concentric pots?
Hi Pete, I got mine from Axes R Us. Tis on this page. Artec SE3-A. It comes with the concentric pot knobs, but you need to order 2 matching knobs for Vol and Blend http://www.axesrus.com/axeknobs.htm There are some cheaper alternatives, but for £36 posted I reckon it is a good buy. I have used the 2 band version before and it was really good. One thing to try first is to meter the pick-ups in case that is where the problem lies. If you have access to a multimeter, the harness that goes into the blend control is a plug in harness. Just remove it and meter each pick-up and check they are the same reistance. mine were spot on and it was at that point i decided on replacing the electronics.
