6. Ok... for some reason I'm getting this message when I try to reply to PM's... (!!??!!?) 'You cannot send another PM until Aug 11 2009, 10:27 AM' So ... A bit of info: The bass is in great shape, nothing wrong with it that a new set of strings won't cure! I have owned it since March last year. Bought it off Yorks5stringer here at BC... (a great guy to deal with, btw!) he had it from new & had really looked after it.... (still had the neck swing tag for it!) I have really only used it for rehearsals & one gig since it's been in my possession.... I'm not interested in trade for a 4 string ......but would consider a 5 I paid £350 for it from Yorks5stringer & am moving it on for the same (even though it's probably worth more)
7. PM replied to......
8. ooh, that looks nice!
9.
I'm up filton way so was wondering on the possibility of meeting up?
yeah, sure dude..... I teach at Drum Bank Music (the studio bit over the road from the shop) ... taking august out from the teaching game, but I can use my rented space there...
10.
where are you in Brissle?
Well I'm actually in LA (Long Ashton!) ...but work on Glos road
11. I'm selling a G&L L-2500 tribute... here the string spacing is a little less than on a Stingray... personally, I don't notice the difference much (my main bass is a Ray 5) it slaps well & has lots of different tones....
12. **SOLD**Nice bass, good condition, lots of tonal variety... Just doesn't seem to suit me so I'm moving it on... £350 based in Bristol(...would prefer not to ship) SOLD PENDING THE USUAL

Raggy

Just bought a GK1001RB-II from Raggy.... Top guy to deal with... He obviously looks after his gear, it was in mint condition for a 2 year old amp.... delivered in the original box & with the manual! He even drove from Swindon to Bristol to drop it to me... bargin!.... cheers mate!
14. Pm'ed......
15. ....another one interested in a split here... just the GK..... if it gets to that
16. Sold this yet?.......
17. Yes!...... Price?
18. Ditto.... is this still for sale?
19. I'm also on the search for a good compressor at the moment.... I've got a Tech 21 bass compactor, which I've had for a while now...... but I've realised, after putting it under the microscope at a studio session recently, that it's not a particularly good one... (noisy , distorts easily etc....) After the usual Tinternet research..(!) the Demeter compulator, EBS multicomp & the Maxon CP-9 pro+ seem to get good revues & are in the price bracket I would be able to afford at the moment.... but as always, other peoples opinions may not be relevant when it comes to your own set up & way of playing.... gotta start somewhere though....... I'm intrigued by the U-sound Hipp'o comp & the Fratone Sandwich & would like to find out more about the Dave Hall one... (...prolly coz of the preeety coloured boxes!... I'm a bit of a sucker for a pretty box !) anyone have any experience of these?... So today I tried out the T-Rex compa nova & a Mad Professor forest green comp in Jam Guitars, a little boutique shop in Bristol...... the T-Rex was, as others have stated, not very impressive... the mad prof was more versatile but at £250 I wasn't convinced my life would be better for purchasing it!....... I bid on Ebay for a Demeter Comp but stopped at £140.... (heck, they're £199 new!) it went for £142...!!!! did anyone from here get it? finding this thread pretty useful....... cheers all! So the search goes on.....
20.
Heh-heh!! This was my first bass as well. Mine was white. My was also sh*te!
Oddly enough.... I was rehearsing at SoundBase studios in Wellington & what did I see?..... One of these Jedsons in cream!!.... bizarre! ...it was soo small!.... could hardly get my fat fingers to fit the frets!.... took me back a bit! it had them black tape wound strings on it.... weren't they called tru-bass?
21. CD Baby seems to have no hidden charges etc... CD Baby
