1. A Behringer combo. With the Koh I Noor superglued to the volume knob.
2.
Ad, in the first picture... did you Photoshop your singer's head on?
No. We just used glue like normal. We have to take it off to get him through the door.
3. What a song and what a stage act. Nice.
4.
My own.
Me too.
5.
Algy Ward on the Damned's Machine Gun Ettiquette.
Even though he was the bass player at the time and was credited on the sleeve I'm not to sure he actually played much on the LP. Nice tone indeed though.
6.
I thought Kingston was in Surrey?
It is. But you can charge more for a pint if you say SW London. Play one song with your fingers and someone takes a bleeding photo. Curly lead looks good though...
7. Got the first one back from our last gig. Apparently there are shots with more action in them to come. We're all in the one pic though which is good. Pic © Paul Slattery
8. It's worrying me. All our from the heart, blood, sweat and tears releases from now on will now carry a gold leaf embossed 'Premier Cru' label on the CD. All the stuff we just churn out for money and chicks will be labeled 'Tune de Table' to avoid confusion.
9. I really miss the forearm contour when I'm playing a bass without one. I will concede that many years of playing a Precision have probably shaped my playing position. Especially as I'm a plectrum jockey. I wouldn't be comfortable with a slab body at all. I don't worry about the neck joint. I never get up that far. There are more than enough notes for what I play on the low side of the 12th fret.
10. I haven't seen a bass yet that's as pleasing to my eye as a nicely used Les Paul Junior. Infamy. Infamy, etc.
11.
'Orrible! Take a look at this lot: http://www.loewenher...sh/gallery.html In the design meeting "It needs something...... just a little something extra..... A LION!....... yes!.......that's what it needs"
I thought it was an advert for George at Asda. Then I noticed they all had basses with mock Tudor door knockers on.
12. I had a cheeky punt but £443 is the world gone mad.
13.
.... (of a cadence) consisting of a dominant harmony followed by a tonic.
Stick a double Tanqueray in there and that's as authentic as I'll ever need.
14. Jed Zeppelin. Only half authentic.
15. Frigging sunburst. Apart from that I like it.
16. I quite like a bit of Deep Purple. Oh and Motorhead. The bands in the OP have about two songs I like and they're both by Black Sabbath.
17. If people are thinking of pulling the trigger on a bullet (gets coat) I should tell you they are a very hefty old cable not like the lightweight jobbies of old.
18. Or it's a red and white striped Brentford FC cable as I like to think of it.
19. Never mind. Your cables are still the ones I use for recording. I'm less likely to trip myself up there.
20. Cool. Time to jump on the curly lead bandwagon obbm
21. Nice one Mr C. I'm intrigued waht with having no sound in my underground work camp. I'll have a listen tonight.
22.
The best curly cable I have ever used is this http://www.bulletcab...-30-coil-cable/ I have been using the same one for a couple years, it has traveled with me through about 40 countries and countless shows, not to mention my everyday gigs here in Vegas. Never fails, never crackles or makes odd noises either.
Using the same one here. For gigs as far apart as Brentford, Croydon and Kingston (upon Thames. Not Jamaica) I've got the toothpaste one as it was on sale a £10 off.
23. I treated myself to a nice big Diago pedal board case in November. It's now got a tuner in it and a Bass Big Muff that I use on one song and lots of empty space. I could live without the BBM by just turning up the Tubetone on the TC classic for that song if I wanted. I realised I was using pedals for the sake of using pedals. No real need for them in the music we play. The lid is great for displaying CDs and flyers on the merchandise table though.
24.
Any BCers going to bid on this? I might if no-one else is -it looks a beaut & not far from me.
I stuck in a low ball £75 bid to test the waters and was sorely tempted to keep going. I've since realised that I won't use it and can't justify/afford a sentimental purchase much as I'd love to have a nice example of my first proper base.
25.
Wilko Johnson mentions these in this months Guitarist. He says he always buys them, if he sees them available, but does also say that he views the sound quality to not be too good.
I can't notice any loss of sound quality with the Bullett cable. Very heavy duty not like the old ones.
