  1. I’m about to have my first foray into the Sire world. I’m presently waiting on a Sire V5 Fretless 4 string in tobacco burst. It is due to be delivered next week. Can’t wait!
  2. Hi Gregor, If a potential buyer contacts you by private message are you going to provide the photographs and info that is being suggested in previous posts. It may help if you can give this assurance.
  3. Many thanks for clearing that up for me. Every day is a school day.👍
  4. Bit confused as to the serial number beginning with a ‘V’. That usually shows that the bass is a vintage reissue. The fender serial number site isn’t coming up with anything for that serial number.
  5. I’m almost certain I owned this bass some moons ago. It was an absolute beauty. Someone will be getting a great instrument.
  6. I’ve just purchased a Hiscox case due to the company closing down. I wanted to make sure I got one of the last ones. Fortunately, I got one from a retailer who still had one in stock.
  7. You are absolutely correct in checking feedback. A problem however is that not everyone leaves feedback even when they have benefitted from feedback in a particular transaction. I would urge everyone to take a moment to leave feedback when it has been merited.
  8. I really can’t understand why this beautiful bass is still here at what is an incredible asking price. I have a USA Classic 44-64 Precision. These are hand made, very high quality basses. If I had the money this bass would be on it’s way to me.
  9. My USA Classic 44-64 and USA Series 44-60.
  10. Have just purchased a Mesa Boogie WD800 from Chris. A thorough gent and a credit to this forum.
  11. Wizard also produced a ‘trad’ version of their precision pickup. I have one of these but have not as yet fitted it to any of my p basses. The pickup is from the ‘Andy’ era but I don’t know anything about how they sound. I would imagine they will live up to their name and produce a nice rounded tone reminiscent of pre CBS precisions.
  12. Thanks for the advice Russ. My son and his wife are now living and working in Turkiye. However, it’s still great advice for anyone in Melbourne looking to buy a bass.👍
  13. I’m not great on the subject of ohms and all that. I did take advice from the guy at Barefaced before I added the 2nd 2x10. It gives plenty volume for what I do. I’ve included the photo of the back of the amp. The amp is a Fender Rumble 800. Hope others don’t mind me going off thread for a moment.
  14. Just acquired this rather nice Lakland USA series 44-60 with black hardware.
  15. Just added a USA Series 44-60 to accompany my USA Classic 44-64.
  16. That one is a really good buy for someone.
  17. I believe it’s called white limba.
  18. It is. Well spotted.👍
  19. I am well chuffed to have taken delivery of this ACG Graft 4 today.
  20. Very nice bass. I’m sure it would attract more interest if it was available for shipping.
  21. I’m trying to find out if my old Musicman SUB 4 is still out there somewhere. If you know anything please get in touch. Here’s the pics with the serial number X08353
  22. I know that. The info I offered was the luthier that changed the fretboard, why it was changed and the significance of the inlay. I also included before and after photos. I thought all of this info would be appreciated by the new owner. However, as I say I wish I hadn’t bothered and I will take this thread as a learning curve. Sorry for taking up bandwidth unnecessarily.
  23. I’m sorry I bothered. If I could delete the post I would. I was just concerned that’s all. I was in fact providing information on a bass currently for sale on Bass Bros that I had once owned. The info was all part of the history of the bass that had been converted from fretted to fretless by having the board changed. I thought that history was meant to help sell a bass and that sellers and new owners wanted provenance. But hey, I won’t do that again.
  24. I’m not actually buying a bass.
