I love the picture of the upright - it looks human...hand on hip leaning on the wall...

Unplanned, incoming dream bass forces extremely reluctant sale but c'est la vie, Grizelda enforces a strict limit on me bass-wise. Much loved Mex P with professionally fitted Wizard Thumper / new CTS pots - probably still got the original pup too which I'll include if I can find it. Also comes in a gig bag (not the one shown in pic that has now been removed) with a spare s/plate too in a sort of cream colour which makes it look quite vintage. It is strung as IMO - all Ps should be with a set of TI flats (about 2 months old). I've also lined all the cavities with copper stuff to make it hum free. I kid you not, this is as good as any USA P I've ever owned (3) - it has a fantastic neck with nice low action and it's in superb condition. The only issue is that a bit of the finish came off when I fitted the bridge cover but this can't be seen with the cover fitted. This bass cost me nearly £400 with all the ugrades - you can have it for £285 ono Will meet / deliver within a reasonable distance / ship at your cost etc. No trades at all. Pics...
What Bergies ?. Can I just add that I've had a couple of encounters with Steve, and he is a really nice guy to deal with. Both of these Accugrooves were originally mine, they really are fantastic cabs.
Mint condition HT112 and EX112.

That sounds brilliant Dave. We had a great night in Kendal - played at Bootleggers, a really good venue with it's own PA & lights. We weren't looking forward to the 10.30 start but the place was absolutely heavin'. Solid first half with an appreciative audience then the Landlady came to us in the break and said she was sorry cos they were a 'funny crowd' (seemed ok to us) and asked if we could get back on soon because the pub was likely to empty. It didn't - it got fuller and there was a real party atmosphere for the second half. Everybody dancin', which is how we like it. Landlady was happy and gave us a £40 bonus - home by 2.30am - nice one.

+1 for the R500, I will have one...one day soon...oh yes. Having said that I haven't heard a Shuttle but I've heard a lot of good things about them.

I've owned 3 'Rays (all 4 string 2 banders), 2 Bongos (5HS and a 4HH) and 1 Sterling c/w Nordstrand pup. Take it from me they're all bloody marvelous. The Bongo is the best all round tonewise, playability, versatility but yeh (groans...) - the old cliche - not everyone can live with the looks. The Sterling has a lovely neck profile, it's lighter and IMO - punchier than a 'Ray (mine was at least). The 'Ray is a classic and desevedly so but not everybody can get along with the neck (big mitts help). In my experience, you need a good set up on a 'Ray to get the most out of it. If I was to buy a MM now it'd be a 'Ray 4 HH.

Both But if I had to pick one, it'd be a P.

I don't care what make my bass is so long as it's comfortable to play, stays in tune and sounds good. Along my well publicised (and criticised) route to finding basses that fit into this category, I've had some quite expensive stuff including an American Lakland but I've now settled on a Korean bass and one from Mexico. I could go out and buy a Fodera or a USA Sadowsky but what I've got works.
