1. tihS man, sorry to hear that! I'm sure everyone will keep they're eyes peeled!.......................thats a gross saying!! Si
2. Its not that I'm not persevering with the fretless My Shuker EUB takes care of that! Its my project P-bass and i fancy it being fretted now, its been fretless for a good 5 years, so deserves a change. Si
3. I have the Headrush E2, great fun What i would say about using it in a band context is make sure that the Drummer can hear the loop loud and clear so he can stay in time with it. The Akai has a tiny tiny time glitch when it reloops round, which basically means if you were to play along with a drum machine (which has perfect time), it would go out of time pretty quickly. It isn't like the newer midi loopers that can quantise the loops. I just use mine for solo playing, which works fine because you're just looping with yourself, nothing to go out of time with. Si
4. Just give Mike over at The Bass Merchant in Witham, Essex a ring. Nice guys, Mike did all the electronics work/modding on my Thingray, and thats awesome! I've never tried a Zoot but i hear good things, if the preamp is anything like the one he put in my bass, then it sounds fantastic Si p.s. I to have no affiliation to Zoot or the Bass merchant other then I've had some work done there.............and i used to live in essex
5. 1 Main Bass, 2 for FSOF 1 Spare Bass regardless 1 Amp Head 1 Cab for smaller venues, 2 for larger venues or FSOF gigs 1 Boss TU-2 Tuner 1 Aphex Compressor DI box which i use, but could also double as a backup to my head as i always go through the PA 1 Set spare strings Tools, Fuses, Batteries etc 1 Set of ear plugs 1 Spare set of plugs Thats about it i think Si
6. Who cares, we're not there to be on camera, we're there to play bass! In any case, its about performance!! Most of those bass players were session guys who don't move around much, or Indie bass players who...........don't move around much. You take the guys who are fun to watch....flea as a random example, they're on camera all the time. Si
7. I would never attempt it myself, absolutely no woodwork/craft skills at all, and accepted that a long time ago lol Thanks for the links though. Si
8. I've got a fretless neck on my project bass, and i want a fretted neck on it Would it be cheaper to get a replacement neck, or have someone refret it!? Any ideas? Cheers Si
9. All kept in cases in the living room on account of them going out to gigs 4 times a week :-D. Ones always in me room though, gotta play! Si

11. So if any companies want to endorse me, i have about 55 gigs left this year to come and see me at hahahaha: Fender Ashdown Newtone Do it! :-D My friend has a warwick amp deal, he plays for steve harley and tours all over the europe etc, and he doesn't get stuff for free, heavily discounted though. Nice one though, if i'd known u were at LGS nate i woulda come said Hi. Let us know when you have a band gig! Si
12. Perhaps on the Deluxe i guess But my Standard USA, although 2nd hand, was absolutely mint when i got it, someone can't wear down the saddle screws that quick surely!? Well i've emailed Fender UK, so awaiting an opinion from them Si

BOSS ME-50B

I've used an ME-50B for the last year or so, although I've just stopped using it in a band setting as I've just got a standalone compressor. The Compressors in the ME-50B are great btw Yeah the FX are cool! I assume that most of the technology is based on the single pedals anyway, so its going to sound good. The tuner is my only real gripe, again the technology is probably the same as the TU-2, but its got less LED's, and so therefore is less accurate. I only really used it as an analog pedal, thats how its layed out, but it does have digital elements such as saving patch settings etc. But i have no time for that haha, much prefer my analogue stuff. And so if you need different FX during or between songs you need to physically bend down and turn the knobs or, like was mentioned above, get a latching footswitch. And you would need to program the settings for each effect to be remembered. However, if you literally only have 2 or 3 sounds for the band, that don't vary, then its perfect!! I use mine just for solo playing now. If i was giving it a score, i'd go for a 7/10 Cool Si
14. Its just a bit weird, that a couple of guys above said that a 1/16" should fit, but it doesn't on both basses. Do fender have their own sizes? Probably just email Fender UK in a sec Cheers Si
15. Damn...i really thought I'd snagged a Lakland for a Pickup there! :-D Si
16. So i went out and bought a 5/64 allen key (19p lol).............to big!! Which means, on an imperial set the 1/16 is to small and the size above it, said 5/64, is to big!!! I asked the guy in the hardware shop what 1.4x40 meant, and he didn't know lol In the Immortal words of Timmy "Please help me!!!.........GOBBLES" Si
17. Mate, you can definitely find a Stingray for cheaper then £1400!! Just keep looking around! With regards to Yamaha, in my opinion you're not going to get anything close to a similar tone to a MM SR with any model, they're stuff is all well built and solid, but I'm not a fan! Si
18. ok cool, cheers well i was in wilko's briefly and saw a key set that was measured in inches, brought it on the offchance for 99p. The smallest size is 1/16" and is to small! :-s How does the measurement 1.5 x 40 fit in? On the Maplin imperial set above, do people think it would be the 5/64 size i need? Si
19. Oh really, didn't know that! Maybe the SUBs weren't selling well? Oh well, at least you'll e able to pick them up even cheaper now....discontinued model and all! :-D I use an OLP, albeit heavily modded hardware & pickups/electronics, for Drop C tuning in my band (until fender give me an endorsement....yeah right), and its wicked. But yeah, about 1 in 5 are any good. Mines got a slightly slimmer neck compared to alllll the others i tried when setting them up in the music shop i worked at. Si
20. 3 Klondike Bass straps on my 3 main basses. Nice and wide and thick.........completly the opposite of me :-D Si

22. Beautiful bass, if only i was in a position to buy!! Let me know if u'd take trades on..........ummmmmmmm...........hmmmmmmmmm........... ....... i got some scratchplates for sale!!!!! :-D Good luck dude, fantastic bass!! Si
23. Like Funk says above, it depends on your budget, but i'd go for a SUB (or any of the above suggestions) over an OLP..........unless u can try a load, they're a bit like mexi fenders, some are great, some are godawful. Si
24. Yes you need to have a CRB check, which the school provides the forms for, it costs about £10 i think, although my school payed for it. They take about 3 weeks to a month to go through! Oh and as far as i'm aware, you need to have a separate check for each establishment you work in! Si
