1. The Rob Allen stuff looks great, i know it was in the list on the previous page http://www.roballenguitars.com/info_mouse.html I play a Fender Bronco, but strung as a Piccolo bass, its 30" scale but doesn't feel that odd, i guess because i'm playing it in a different mind-set to a Bass Guitar perhaps. In the same way my EUB at 36" doesn't feel that odd, its such a different instrument that it doesn't really compute. Good Luck Si

3. Nope, we couldn't sound less Irish if we tried! :-D The drummers parents are Irish, but he was born here, thats about as far as the connection goes! Si
4. What gets me is that in the 'Cupids Chokehold' single, the guy singing the chorus isn't even in GCH, its the singer from Fallout Boy lol So they're first single is a cover with another singer, difficult to follow methinks, but we'll see! Si

7. Tell your Stepdad that Jazz's can be just as cheap as Precisions The Vintage Modified series does look impressive for low bunce! A precision isn't gonna give u a Timmy C or Flea sound........a Jazz will! Seeing as they both use them Si
8. Let me know if you fancy just selling the neck lol Si
9. The white 4 string jazz plate is now SOLD, cheers Pete, glad my Avatar helped lol Tortoiseshell 5 string still available! Its a 10 hole scratchplate, no screw holes for finger-rests/ashtrays etc, i guess because no Fender 5 strings have these. Its still in its original (but wrongly labeled) packaging which for some reason says '62 Jazz' on it, i guess thats why i have it spare, it didn't fit my 4 string that i bought it for in the first place Anyway, 'Hit me up and ting' Si
10. My Project P-bass is an Encore, but certainly to my eyes and hands and good solid quality one, it was my first ever bass back in the mid 90's, am i right in thinking that when encore started, they were actually quite a respected brand? I know its an older one because the headstock is pretty much a duplicate of the Fender headstock, whereas now they're not. Anyway, to the point! I just want to know if people think that generic replacement necks, like those from allparts will be a good fit at the neck joint? Were all those copies generic sizes? I've put up a post in the wanted section for a maple jazz neck, but if the sizes are all skew-whiff, then my other option is to have Mike at Bass Merchant apply a new fretboard onto the existing neck (which is fine quality wise) so its a good fit. They would be around the same price! Cheers Si

12. I was thinking the other day, that fundamentally i'm not particually fussed about having active EQ's on my basses, but for some projects, mostly live, i like the extra grunt and output they afford. Would it be possible to take a passive bass, and have someone custom wind some pickups really hot so as to get a similar output to an active bass?? Cheers Si
13. Hey mate, i was there, riiiiiight down the front lol. It indeed was an awesome night, yeah his bass and vocals were quite low for the first tune, but the guitar was even lower right until maybe the 2nd from last song. But Richard was definitely on top form, and his band were fantastic to, i have a lot of time for his percussionist!! Well all of them! Great trumpet player. Well, gotta wait another year i suspect until he comes back Si p.s. Would love to see the pics and vids Mike, my phone ran outa battery, so couldn't get any myself
14. Umm, how about in the middle of the ramp? or is the logo textured/embossed, because that might feel weird on the fingers if you're playing over it. I like the idea of it being in the tuner recess, but it might look a bit squashed/busy Si
15. I beg your pardon! My bad I'm sure i saw a post that you made saying you were a teenager lol, i should have my facts straight next time! :-D Yeah, it was that issue alright. Maybe i can scan it and send you the article Si
16. Right so who's tonight?? (18th). I might be going on my own (various people lamed out) So gimme a shout! Probably going into London about 11am ish and having a mooch around the various bass shops/denmark street I'll be at the gig in a black, over-sized beanie and a 'Pimp That Snack' t-shirt! :-D Si p.s. Obviously I'll be wearing trousers as well, but they're fairly nondescript
17. But then he was probably doing it before you were born lol I think i saw it in his Bass Player mag interview a couple of years ago Si
18. Hey there! If the Stingray isn't gone, or falls through, then i might have a friend whos interested! Funnily enough he's also in Luton Si
19. Isn't that the technique that Ryan Martinie uses? He said he picked it up after watching his dad play classical guitar Si
20. Who was the luthier? Where/who does he work for? Cheers Si
21. Doesn't sound to boomy to me, although sounds like you've panned the guitar hard right, and the bass hard left, try putting them closer to the middle to get a rounder mix!? Umm, and also the guitar sounds out of tune!? Cool man, keep it coming! Si
