I'm pretty interested in this too. Meant to try one at MusikMesse but didn't get around to it. I had a Boss Slow Gear for a while, which wasn't good with bass at all, although my ME-50b has a Slow Gear patch, which is brilliant. So, perhaps opposite to what we normally want, I'm hoping the Mooer is a digital approximation of the original effect (like the ME-50b) and not a full clone of the Boss. Si

Would anyone be interested in an 'FX Trying' area? If I was to bring a lot of pedals, setup a couple of headphone amps and people can chain a few bits together and try out? Or are people not fussed about effects in Herts? Si

The Japanese Octaver has a marginally different sound in that it has a slight dip in direct gain even at max blend, I actually prefer it in the mix, makes the octave pop a bit more. Whether one pays more money for that is a simple fiscal choice. But they 'fixed' that when the name changed to the Octave and you're right, no difference between Japanese Octave & Taiwanese Octave. It's simply the case that people latch onto a change, be it a component change or a manufacturer location change etc. Whether the scarcity of the previous model causes the value to go up is usually a combination of who uses them and luck Si

Hi guys, Got a T-Rex Juicy Lucy for sale. Some gumf: 5 isolated 12-volt outputs Each of Juicy Lucy's 5 isolated outputs delivers 300 mA of 12-volt power – which is enough to keep even the most demanding T-Rex pedals pumping out the tone. With a Current Doubler (not included) you can combine 2 outputs to deliver a staggering 600 mA of power. Many pedals will run on 12v (as most components tend to be rated at 16v anyway), often this gives the pedal slightly more headroom and a bit more Oooomf. Examples of pedals I've run on 12v using this JL: All Boss pedals including vintage Japanese. Cog 66 MXR Filter Fuzzrocious pedals Darkglass pedals Xotic Clones I've built You get the idea I do not have the box unfortunately or any of the official paraphernalia, although as you can see I will include 5 mis-matched power cables of various lengths. The JL is heavily gigged but has not failed me once and is in fine condition overall. Bear in mind that this thread will simply provide you with a long and definitive list of what other people like/own. Your best bet is to take a listen to some demos, pick a few you're interested in, purchase them (one-by-one and second hand if necessary) and try them live. Move them on if you're not happy. [/quote] I wouldn't say so, unless you have a particular need to have it before your drive pedals at the start of the chain (with a daisy-chain power setup). I swapped to it from a Boss TU2 simply because I needed to save some space on that one board. If you have space, the TU-2 or TU-3 are great tuners, although aren't True Bypass if that bothers you (it shouldn't) Si

Yeah there's no reason why that selection of pedals won't 'work' together, however there are some other bits to consider. With regards to MA rating, add up what your pedals draw, then buy a power supply that gives you at least double that draw......perhaps even more if you want to expand at a later date. The TC tuner is digital, and digital pedals can react strangely in a daisy chain (as opposed to when they're fed isolated power), I've got the TC Polytune mini running in a daisy chain, however I have to run it at the end of the chain (no big deal), as it doesn't like being in front of dirt/high gain pedals, gives off low-level white noise in bypass. If you buy an isolated power supply, not to worry, but these are not often seen on small setups. Si

Yeah the TFR is a Green Muff circuit basically and the Darkglass is a.......well, a Darkglass. Very different, get both.......and a Cog, and a Fuzzrocious......and I'm getting prototype PCBs through soon.....get them all basically Si
