Squier Standard (Made In China) SOLD

I haven't owned an active bass in years and years, so can't help with comparisons. Ben @ Dwarfcraft certainly is a passive player, whether that means his circuits are catered towards those users I don't know, ask him on Twitter Again, Tom @ COG would be able to cater a Tarkin to whatever you want. Si
-
I just had a real quick google and the results were essentially "Muff-based circuits" (basschat doesn't have enough server space to list all the Muff derivatives ), and the Mastotron. Have a word with Tom @ COG, he made a Fuzz for Shep which had a variable Impedance control, it was probably Tarkin (Muff) based, but dunno for sure Si
-
309 has some of the best driven bass sounds ever! Si
-
The simple fact is that it's a lot harder finding a fuzz to play nice with actives. My advice would be to try a load and pick the one you like (that 'never-ending' fuzz quest). You'll have a much better time with Muff based circuits than Fuzzface based circuits Si
-
Fuzz Face based circuits hate active basses and buffers as they have a similar effect on impedance. So no, you don't want a Buffer .......you want a passive bass lol Si

Hi guys, Selling this for the girlfriend. Crafted in China Squier Strat. It works fine, truss-rod & tuners are fine etc There are some scuffs and some sticker residue, but again, easily sorted, I've tried to capture in the photos. There is also a small Squier combo that doesn't work, the buyer is welcome to this, and is probably an easy fix. The guitar also has a basic soft case. Essentially the whole package is sold as seen, but we'd like to see it being used Not sure if it's financially worth posting it, but we're always around Bucks/Herts/London for pickup/trade SOLD Si

Bear in mind that if the Mooer is true bypass, so even with noise from a power supply, I wouldn't expect that noise to be 'effected', as such, there might be a fault with the Mooer. Si
cheers both - I was hoping that was the case, looks like a white-knob BF-2 is in my future... 9v PSA as opposed to annoying ACA too hopefully...
I've never had a problem running the older ACA Boss pedals from standard power supplied. Some do work with a much duller LED, however this seems to be resolved by Daisy-chaining it from a Boss tuner. Powering ACA pedals direct from a PSA-240 adaptor has worse results. Si

Boss Area has some good info: http://www.bossarea....e=boxes/bf2.xml "Version differences

The BF-2 exists in both metal screw and plastic screw versions.
The earlier versions had all black knobs. These where later changed to the white top knobs. The change took place 1990, very close to the same time that production was moved to Taiwan
There may be some BF-2's in pink. This was the original colour choice, but it was changed to purple in the last minute. Whether some pink ones exists out there is uncertain.
The BF-2's design remained virtually unchanged through its more than 20 year lifespan. The TL022CP opamp was replaced with the Sharp IR9022 opamp at some point but apart from that, the ciruit remained unchanged.
Label differences No pedal has had as many different labels as the BF-2. From its birth in 1980 the label was black. It was changed to green in 1984. When production of the BF-2 moved to Taiwan 1990, the label kept its colour but was reprinted with the new country of origin. In 1994 the label was changed to orange. The CE-2B is the only other pedal to have use the orange label. Orange became pink in July 1997 and the final change happened in 1999 when the dark gray label was introduced" Looks like just the Opamp change, so not a grand difference, some people might claim to hear that difference perhaps. Si

The PSA-230es is rated at 200ma, if the Mooer is 128ma (I haven't checked), with your other pedals, you're probably approaching 150ma in total?! This, in my experience, is where noise and weirdness starts to get introduced as you run out of power to draw from. Think of MA headroom as wattage........you wouldn't run your 200watt amp at 200watts, it's going to start crapping out My rule of thumb is to have half of my supplies rating spare, considering I use a 5amp Gig-rig on one board and a 1amp T-rex on another, I genuinely keep things quiet Si

Yeah I was on the fence with regards to the Mini & the Nano, I went for the Mini just because I wanted a bit more space. I'd prefer some space between pedals, than some extra space onstage. Having said that, I think the Nano, weirdly enough, has a slightly nicer space underneath for power?! Si

Garageband is beginning to p*ss me off! Help needed (again)!

If you want to try another DAW, check out Reaper.....free to use Si -
Because it was a side-man soul gig......not a noise gig?! Si

Owning both seems to be the best idea Si
All those great subs and then the thumpinator to remove them *shakes head*
I know what you mean, but you shoulda heard the room when I first used the OC-2/FX-10/Thumpinator setup......rumbling, but controlled. I'd take the Thumpinator out for a noisier gig, but this needed to be a bit more refined ........I had to stop myself swapping the FX-10 for the Meatbox Si

See I only bought a big-box recently because I had one around 8 years ago and stupidly sold it......so technically I had one before it was cool to have one I've not tried an XO, but you're probably right, any tonal issues that might be obvious in a studio are rarely noticeable mid-gig (unless it's really awful). Having said that, I have heard of the construction quality of newer EHX units being called into question compared to older units. Again, no experience of this, but something to bear in mind I guess. Just a quick PT Mini for a soul/RnB EP launch I played this week, sounded great with Precision! Si

It's actually my worst nightmare lol, I'd rather have more knobs and no trim-pots Si
-
Probably the strongest line-up of pedals in the series so far! . Includes two of my fave pedal building guys! Si

Just put together a cheeky Mammoth clone for myself.....only tested at home so far, but sounds pretty monstrous ....no pun intended: I do like the Dremel for some pseudo-holographic design :-D Si

Horrah. It's a bit of a fiddly kit, the R3 Resistor workaround plus the semi-board mounted pots. But all in all it's great, i've done 5 of them now. Cheers Si
