Hi guys, Interested in the opinion of guys who have specifically used both the new La Bella Low Tension flats as well as any flats in Thomastics range. I ask because I've historically never liked the tension of flats, but trying the La Bellas was a bit of a revelation. However their options in gauges are prohibitive, for those who have tried, how do Thomastics flats compare from a tension point of view? Many thanks Si

Good stuff, I've updated the database Si

Hi guys, Here is my 2003 Fender USA Jazz bass, the first Fender I owned. It's been through a lot, is heavily gigged, and is the bass I took with me to Wooten Woods earlier this year. Yes it's been played in front of Victor Wooten, Steve Bailey, Felix Pastorius, Anthony Wellington etc Anyway, its a brilliant bass, however it does have plenty of wear, dings and chips etc. Obviously full pictures asap, but all the wear is honest play wear from a LOT of gigs and I believe the price is reflective of this. That said, it plays and sounds great. The biggest patch of wear is the lower bout on the rear. This is down to the wood and exposing the black paint that Fender paint around the edges of their basses to make the blacks.....well....blacker I guess. Hopefully the photo shoes this. This model has the graphite reinforcement rods in the neck, the S1 switch (actually useful on the Jazzes, not so much the Precisions). 60's spaced pickups. Fairly light (weight pending). The tort plate is a replacement official Fender, as the original was white and horrible, as such there is a couple of screw holes that don't have corresponding holes in the body. There is one screw missing from the scratch plate unfortunately, and a couple could do with replacing as looking a bit rusty/discoloured. It can be supplied with a basic gig-bag or a padded Ritter bag for an extra £10. As such, collection or meet up only on this in/near High Wycombe / Welwyn Garden City / London. No trades (Sorry about some of the orientations, TinyPic is working its wonders) Thanks Si

HI All, Up for sale here is my ACG Finn Classic Single Cut, purchased on here from Eude. This came to me strung with a low B, however I've had the nut changed and restrung with a high C. The original nut will be supplied if you want to have it changed back. Here is all the spec etc on the ACG site, including a number of photos: http://www.acguitars...assic-5-string/ This will come with a padded Fusion gig-bag, but as such, collection/meet-up only in or near Welwyn Garden City/High Wycombe or sometimes London Simply after what I paid for it (so not including the setup etc) - £850 firm Would consider a part-ex with a short scale bass, Squier Mustang, Gretsch 2220 etc Preferably not over £200 of worth Cheers Si

Hi guys, Up for sale is my Yamaha 615 bass in 'Old Violin Burst'. Very good condition, couple of little impacts but nothing thats easy to capture. Strung with Dunlop Super Brights. Really comfortable neck, Yamaha site below with full spec/features: http://uk.yamaha.com...asses/bb/bb615/ Included is a basic gig-bag. Hi guys, The cull continues Here is my 1973 Precision, serial number 424563, with OHSC. I purchased from Si (0353203) on here around a year ago. The bass weighs 8.2lbs with a beautifully playable neck (B Profile/size)..playing with a nice low action (although I've raised it a bit) plus plenty of life left in the frets. Pot codes and neck stamp both date to 1973. Plenty of life left in the truss rod. The bass shows signs of playwear, with dings / dongs etc. The body rear has some marks where the bass has been left laying on a cable (I suspect)....difficult to photo due to the colour, but worth a mention. The case is in ok condition...the latches work fine. The handle has been taped at some point and the ends have wear....as does the tolex. Still does the job, however. So overall not mint by any means, but if you are looking for a lightweight early 70s P with that classic thump and low action, this is it! Collection or meet-up (within reason) preferred. Full collection of large detailed pictures, guts, dings, disassembled, pickups, pots, neck heel, serial etc available via email upon request. £1900 Would consider a part-ex with a short scale bass, Squier Mustang, Gretsch 2220 etc Preferably not over £200 Many thanks Si

Hi guys, Continuing my gear cull, I've had this amp for about 8-10years, serviced by Ashdown around 4 years ago, after I stopped touring, however not really used since then. When I took it over to Ashdown for said service, they told me it was UK built and in brilliant condition internally. It has some little knocks/scuffs externally which I can try and capture if interested, but works nicely. I'll give it a good clean before it goes to a new owner Better photos are forthcoming pending some sunshine (good luck?!): SOLD Cheers Si

Yes I'm going to have to shift around a few ownerships on the database huh?! Si

I have 8 OC2s because I went a bit nuts for them, still love the pedal, nothing like it really! Did you see the serial number database I started (see effects forum). I'll be keeping 3 of the 8, so thats why the OC2s listed are a little vague right now. There are 2 Octaves for sale, but the 3 Octavers for sale will be confirmed when I decide asap. Cheers Si

Sibob replied to silverfoxnik's topic in Events
I managed to collect my raffle prize from Mick at the weekend. Thanks very much guys, was a nice surprise to get that PM later that day, funny that I only mentioned a couple of options to Colin on my way out and if not re-draw it, managed to get my first choice. Lovely stuff lol Si -
Damn right I should be told.........do these OC-2 owners not know who I am? lol Si

South East Bass Bash No.8, Surrey, Saturday 1st November 2014
Sibob replied to silverfoxnik's topic in Events
Thanks Nik, the top board is just my main gigging board. The bigger board I put together for the bash which is largely ambient sounds and looping. Si -
That's none of my business. He's a mate, I'm not his business manager. However, I do have his mobile number if that would be helpful. PM me if you would like it.
It was more of a rhetorical question to make a point, I have his address, email address and number and ignores them all (so far anyway) But thank-you anyway Si

Yeah I had my ACG Finn SC 5string there, it was in the 'quiet' amp room, with my looping setup etc . Partly spotted in this pic I took on the day: Si -
Serious Question To Those Who Use A Full Stack
Sibob replied to MindGoneBlank's topic in Amps and Cabs
I can't think of anything worse than owning two 4x10s. 8x10" speakers? Eugh. If there's a monitoring issue then angle your can up at yourself (plenty of gadgets for that). My 'full stack' is a 1x15 & a 1x12 and I bet I can get as 'loud' as two 4x10s. Actually I lie, the above config is what I use week in, week out.....my FULLfull stack is two 15" cabs....very rarely get to use it, that's proper tone with a P-bass though. If I was made to own a 4x10, I'd perhaps consider a 2x10 (eugh) or a 2x12 to sit on it. Unless your 4x10s are super lightweight, good luck not getting bored with 2 of them every gig Si -
I understand that around the middle of this year Mr Apple did indeed collate as many outstanding BC member orders as could be found at the time. He then passed the information on to the Doc for his attention.
Since then, Howard has seemingly avoided contact with BillyApple, myself and all other members attempted to make contact. Si
I saw him on Saturday and he is OK. But he was laid low for a while with a virus and may still be working his way through a backlog... I think you could expect a PG for around £30.... depends really!
Perhaps you could enquire as to why he hasn't replied to me since 26th May 2014 regarding a job I paid a deposit for on 21st October 2013?! Si

Will get these added tomorrow Si
