1. The Antique White 44-01 looks great too! Si
2.
I'd say jazz soloists are their target market, yes, with all their singlecut stuff etc. In a band context that requires solid no frills playing I don't see how a Fodera can beat the tried and tested J or P or MM, honestly. Note articulation up the dusty end is a non-issue. Mind, you can also spend a lot of money on such basses - but typically less than 5000k... I might be wrong though.
Sure, although I think thats why they introduced the NYC basses, a more 'trad' vibe. I guess there are also plenty of people who can quite happily spend 3-4k on a new Alleva Coppolo, Sadowsky or a Stenback (even more surprising to me), which is fundamentally a Fender Copy, albeit very well made. The basic price of a USA Sadowsky 5 string, before options is $4275! But if that person is happy, then it's worth it right?! Si
3. Yeah I've heard a lot of stories about Music Guard using every excuse to not pay out. Si
4. Omnomnom SI
5. Well I certainly didn't mean for this to happen haha Si

8. Oh I don't care about someones opinion on a brand . If a bass feels and sounds great to its owner, its worth it. There's bound to be plenty of people who don't understand me hating Rickenbackers......but nor should that opinion have any effect on anyone else, if it does, that's their problem Si
9. ACGs are their own thing, no point comparing them. They're fantastic, and whilst you can order a similar spec, it won't feel or sound like a Fodera, which is a good thing. I should know, I own a 33" singlecut ACG lol Si
10.
What you ordering?
Matt Garrison Standard
I have to say I agree - if that's a signature sound, it's pretty generic. On the other hand, the playing doesn't exactly showcase the sound - I played the first minute, then skipped to near the end - does he just keep doing the same thing all the way through?
To be fair, that's just Vic performing at a gear show, probably for a bunch of fawning bass players I imagine. He's the first person to state that it's just 'fireworks', and whilst it partly pays his bills, he's perfectly aware if what it is (or isn't) Si
11.
and suddenly your sale threads make sense!
Haha, exactly.......so plllleeeaaasseeee buy something Has to be said, when we were trying to sort it out, the guys at Fodera were replying to us on Saturday & Sunday, not many companies can say they do that Si
12. I think that was probably the Rainbow Machine (pink, crazy sounding thing).....not for sale I'm afraid Si
13.
Apparently, on more than one occasion someone had then gone away and sold all their basses to fund the purchase of the Fodera they had just played.
Dammit.......I'm stereotype Si
14.
Si, if you're in Slough you are welcome for a cup of tea and a fiddle
An ideal evening in my books! Will try and sort something out over that way Cheers bud. The La Bella Low Tensions felt great on the Precision I had a quick play on, but as mentioned, the the TI's have more options for gauges. Cheers Si
15. A nice Sunday night gift for someone? Si
16. Treat yourself to a pre-Christmas/Sunday present Si
17. Hey all, I have an Allpartd Fretless Precision neck which was sourced/modded by Bass Doc and is a joy to play. Maple with ebony fingerboard, lines which are slightly fading in places as they are painted, not wood slips. There is some wear from the round-wind strings, but nothing that effects playability in anyway, there's a reason I chose an ebony board, hard as nails . Re-profiled and finished (slight vintage tint) by Howard. It has a 60's era Fender Precision logo, and includes nut & string tree and reverse 'Kluson' style tuners, make unknown however working perfectly. Anyone looking to convert to a Precision necked fretless? This is an excellent place to start! As mentioned, there is some wear on the fingerboard from the round-wound strings, however it's barely noticeable when running your fingers over it, and certainly doesn't effect playability when strung. It actually looks worse in the photos because the light is catching it: SOLD Cheers Si
18. I had a similar experience to a few people, thought they looked great, understood that they're boutique and high-end, but never played one that made me go "oh wow"............until last week. As someone else mentioned in the thread, I got surprised by a Fodera that I just didn't want to put down, it made me want to play more than I already did! That's the point where you go, "I'd actually pay this money for this bass"! Si
19. I tuned C, F, Bb, Eb for years.....forget gauge, it's all about core size. I used Newtone 45-105 and got an action and tension similar to that of a standard tunes bass. Why? Because it was a larger core. Granted you can't then tune up to standard, but I was touring in that tuning, so wasn't necessary. Si
20. Still a whole bunch of pedals left! .......good stuff too, it isn't a 'all the popular stuff has gone first' deal here. Si
21. I haven't weighed it yet, I'm taking an educated guess in the early 9lbs range That said, the bass is currently sold pending payment. Cheers Si
22. Well Phil & Jass this is the perfect bass for you guys Si
