Can you explain this in easy words so I can relay it to a curious old person. thanks!
They make the individual bass, guitar, drum, vocal audio tracks available. If you have recording software such as Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase etc, you can import the individual instruments you want as a backing track, and play along. The suggestion here is that you can load everything but the bass part and 'be Joe Dart' for a bit I'm seeing them in London tomorrow, thought I was going to miss it due to playing myself, but gig got cancelled......hooorray! I put the Hipshot version on a JV Squire Jazz maybe 6months ago, I felt it made an instant positive difference! I actually have a lot of time for Hipshot products, they seem to nail it every time! Si

I've gigged with just a Midget and they're deceptively loud (with my Markbass Little Marks)!! They obviously benefit for a bit of elevation closer to your ear. A guitarist mate has a couple of the Treble N Bass amps, slightly older, with the original cabs (which were 1x15 I think). I've done some recording through them, and I don't think it's the cab situation that will be your issue. They're just 50 Watt tube amps, so putting bass through them, they're probably going to start breaking up before you get to a medium gig volume.....which might be the tone you're after. Si

I should say that I'm not suggesting "buy the MXR, it's all you need", just that it's my experience that it's brilliant. I would actually also say "buy them all" and see which you prefer, if you buy used, you won't lose much (or anything) if you then sell them on. Si
-
Because the MXR has a clean blend, it helps retain all of your low end, which is what a LPF would typically do. Agreed, a band-pass with no clean blend would be a bit pants. To be fair, the MXR can do a lot more than 'quacky sounds', they're the sounds I really dislike from envelope filters actually, that whole generic slap funk filter sound. I use it to get nice slow and low vowel sounds. Si
-
I've gigged a few and my personal favourite is the MXR. Whether it's what you need.....don't know, but it sounds perfect to my ears (and for my needs). Si
-
Most of these sentiments seem to be similar of my experience with the MS-3. Most of the sounds were great, loved having the Defretted and Slow Gear sounds back after selling my ME-50B. But I found the workflow quite fiddley, gave up doing it on the unit as it took too long, so did it on the Mac Librarian software.....and even then couldn't get it to do what I wanted.....oh well. Great sounds (mostly), but just a bit difficult to use. Sticking with my Line6 M5 for now. Si

All done, VT1-Pro incoming (When ready of course) Cheers Si

Standard stuff, pickup, tuners, bridge. I had one years ago, it was fine.....think I'd prefer one of the older Squire Vista series though. Si
Dave, How would the Spitfire version look in the original plane's colours?
Generally speaking, a pedal screen print will stick to one colour, once you start adding more colours (which many builders do of course), the price rises. So I suspect we're limited to one colour against the colour of the enclosure. Si

I have a couple of M80 cases and think they're excellent, best balancing case ever when you're carrying using the side handle. I don't have the discomfort when wearing both straps, but then i'm not overly broad and only 5'10", so very comfortable to me. My only minor gripe is that I wish they had a tad more padding in the bottom, but I think that probably just means I'd be a littler better suited to the Vertigo. Will look at that closer if and when they need replacing. I also have a Fusion F1 bag which is excellent for the money, really good alternatives to the M80, although not quite as comfortable strapped on for me. Si
Guys, I just want to show you the final design for the VT1 Spitfire BASS pedal that's been discussed here and developed. All the switches are now mounted on the top of the unit and no punches pulled - this is a banger of a pedal. A swiss army knife that's got you covered in all situations and sounds a delight. Get in touch with Dave if you're interested, very easy to talk to and there maybe an opportunity for the introduction price. ?subject=VT1%20Spitfire%20BASS"]
With absolutely no disrespect to your hard work, I did prefer the previous artwork, but then I'm not a fan of union jack anything really. Is this definitely the final design? I wonder if the Spitfire badge/logo might look cool instead? Obviously not in my hands, just my opinion . Certainly is a fully featured pedal, still very very interested! Si
Cheers Si. Basschat, without doubt, should be renamed "the Slippery Slope" I've get new: the Rode NT1A bundle is £142 and the sE Electronics X1S bundle is £159 (both from Gear4Music). Not very much difference between the two in price terms. If you were going for one or the other, would you have a preference / recommendation?
It's difficult for me to be completely impartial here, as Focusrite distribute sE Electronics in the UK, however they are genuinely very good....as are the Rode mics obviously. Maybe try and have a word with Mike Flynn, if you're friends with him on Facebook etc. He's just finished some recording with the X1S and seemed very happy with it from what I gather. For balance, I'm certain you'll find NT1A users equally happy with their setup, it's all subjective Si
Cheers Si - good to know! Final newbie Q, if I may! How much difference / advantage is a condenser mic going to have over a normal performance mic for vocal recording? (I've already got a performance mic, but would need to buy a condenser mic). Is it a "must"? If so, which condenser mic would you recommend?
It's a slippery slope, you'll get better 'studio' sounding results with a condenser, which are just a lot more sensitive than a dynamic mic, but you'll then get better results by using a reflection filter, and better results with an acoustically treated room etc etc. Fortunately a decent condenser can be had for not much money. Lots of people rave about the Rode NT1A as a decent place to start, the sE Electronics X1A & X1S (especially the X1S Studio Bundle) are also great places to start. Si
I'm bringing one of Ewan's headless ACGs for you too dude. You're not allowed to take it away I'm told, though he never said I had to take it back to him.... 🤓
Yes, thanks very much for that bud!! Si -
There should be no issues with hot pickups with the Gen 1 6i6. The only Gen 1 Scarlett that some people had an issue with in that regard was the 2i2, and that was changed in the Gen 2. I can't really add anything to what Tech Support told you above, so enjoy Si // Focusrite Media Relations

Totally, I'm just trying to ascertain whether the wireless is actually needed or not. Si
I've literally just bought an original knightfall!!! If only I'd known about the seaweed one, i really wanted one with a clean blend to be fair it sounds great without it! I live by the sea too
Have two Si P.s. Eugh, inadvertently bumped within 36hours, I should know better. Won't be touching this thread for a few days now, so PM me if interested in anything.
