1. Lovely, I have an A5 myself. To crack out a tried and tested cliche this is an absolute tonne of bass for the money, have a bump on me.
2.
don't suppose you'll be posting any pics ?
Dear me...
3.
I have this amazing trick where I take a really nice bass and amp, and make it sound exactly like a steel dustbin full of spanners falling down the stairs.
I rather enjoyed this post
4. Oh yeah, the 2 a side, or 3 and 2 tuners on headstocks is a very good one that I left out. All on the same side looks pretty ridiculous IMO. No-one hating on thunderbirds yet as well, surprising, no?
5.
For one horrible moment I thought it was going to be another clip of that Japanese bass playing transvestite again......... Nice playing!
Hah, EXACTLY what I was expecting it to be.
6. Inspired by discussion in another thread, I got to wondering what people REALLY like and REALLY dislike aesthetically when it comes to basses and bass-related stuff. As the title says, this is all about looks, and nothing to do with sound, or anything else. Try not to flame anyone for anything they might say, it's all about opinion. Love Natural wood finishes Thru-neck construction Individual-string bridges Beautiful elaborate inlays Silked strings (especially with different colours for each string, especially when coupled with an indivdual-string bridge) Thick black leather straps Coloured LEDs on pedals (i.e. anything other than red) Big, MXR-style knobs on pedals Graphic EQs on heads/combos Orange amps and cabs Hate String trees Massive headstocks (eg. Fender) Chapman Sticks LEDs on a bass Gold hardware Over-the-top finishes on a bass 'Vintage' or 'relic'd' anything - seriously, WTF? Basses finished in ridiculous colours, eg. shocking pink, or lime green Open-coil pickups with massive coils, e.g. musicman style Strings sticking out loose from tuning pegs Wonky jazz pickups Pointy basses Single-cut basses Completely un-labelled pedals Coloured patch cables This is all I can think of off the top of my head. Lets have some opinions.
7. Hey, nice bass by the looks of it, seems like a lot of bass for the money, especially new. How come in the picture theres a 5 string bridge, with 5 string pickups, and 5 strings down at the bridge, but only 4 tuners and 4 strings spanning the fretboard? Haha EDIT: Also, would this be your first trip into the world of bass? And where abouts in devon?
8.
I know it's frustrating. But nature didn't just single you out. It sucks, but there are worse things happening to an awful lot of people.
Yeah come on mate, grow up a bit, its hardly the end of the world. Also, 4 DAYS?! How is that a problem, 4 hours would be plenty more than enough time to get it figured out.
9. That a recent pic of the looper? Looks to be in absolutely perfect cosmetic condition, that accurate? One last q, will it take a battery as well as an adapter? Cheers mate.
10. Bought a SansAmp BDDI from Gary a while back, very smooth transaction, item exactly as described in mint condition with box and booklet. Unless I'm much mistaken the pedal even had a battery in it, which is still going strong even now, with the pedal on about 95% of the time. Top bloke, wouldn't hesitate to do business with in the future. P.S. Sorry about the ridiculously late feedback - according to that PM that wasn't showing up its been over 4 months! Ooopsie
11. HA, this thread just reminded me that I never got round to leaving you feedback for the BDDI I bought off you a while back. Just checked my PM's as well, and there were messages from you about it that were unread but weren't showing up as new messages - wtf?! Anyway, sorry mate, I'll do it now. Better late than never I guess lol...
12. Hah, very cool idea editing the group shot picture of the pedals, very helpful! Hopefully such things will catch on. Have a wee bump on me.

Soundblox Pro

That sounds really good actually. A pretty intimidating number of options, but it looks like you can get some awesome sounds out of it. Cheers for the link mate.
14. Just picked up a microsynth myself, and I like it so far (not got it properly sussed yet as I only got it yesterday). Also, a new one would be only a little bit more than your budget, so you wouldn't necessarily have to go used.
15. Bought an EHX Bass MicroSynth from Shep. Fantastic communications, superfast postage, and item as described. Perfect transaction, would not hesitate to deal with again, and you shouldn't either Cheers mate.
16. My Woolly Mammoth clone currently has a breadboard in it rather than any soldering, it took about 2 minutes to put it together (rather than the hours that soldering would have taken me - as I suck big time) and I see no reason to change it to a soldered circuit. If anything fries or goes wrong at any time I can swap it over without desoldering, and if I decide to mod it, which I am going to by adding a blender, I can just pop the mod in without desoldering/altering/having to rehouse the circuit on a bigger bit of perfboard/stripboard or whatever. It's a more expensive way of doing it, as the breadboard was £3, but to save on a couple of hours work for a circuit which might not actually end up working due to cold solders or whatever (as you, like me in the past, have discovered to your cost) it's a negligible expense All IMO of course.
17. About 5 seconds on google got me this: Including delivery: here at £4.35 here at £4.29 if you like paypal here at £4.99 if you want a bigger bit Alternatively, and something I would definately recommend, you can get some prototyping breadboard here since you've had problems with the build. Although it is 'prototyping' board there's nothing stopping you using it as a permanent solution if you're someone that really hates soldering. Hope this helps.

Christmas Pedal?

Have decided against the nova repeater, phase looks like it might be interesting. Have also bought an EHX Bass MicroSynth from pantherairsoft, which should be here on tuesday. Any more weird and wonderful (or just normal ) suggestions?

Christmas Pedal?

I've played just about everything except funk, not that I have any kind of problem with funk I've just never really played it. Nope not a fretless player, I have a Cort Artisan A5, if that means anything to you lol... Not dismissing the nova repeater by any means, just not particularly the area I was planning on looking at, but getting some discussion on the matter was exactly what I was looking for. On this though, how does the Akai Headrush (2) compare to the TC in your opinion? I assume you own one of the nova repeaters?

Christmas Pedal?

Very original suggestion, had never even heard of it before to be perfectly honest, cheers! Not a big fan of delay on bass to be fair, don't see any real use for it personally. Good response though, keep 'em coming

Christmas Pedal?

NO idea what I might get for christmas, so since I have no other ideas I was thinking an effect/stompbox/pedal could provide the solution. I currently own: - EHX Bass Big Muff - ZVex Woolly Mammoth clone - Zoom B2 multi fx - Sansamp Bass Driver DI - Tech 21 XXL Bass Distortion - MXR M-88 Bass Octave (-Behringer BOD100) I've been considering the Sansamp VT Bass, and also the EHX Bass Micro Synth, but am not really getting anywhere to be honest. So, suggestions? Sorry for the pretty stupid thread... EDIT: I'm assuming that the VT Bass is going to get a lot of love, which is cool but I already know how good it is, so I guess I'm looking for new suggestions rather than praise for that particular pedal. If you have anything bad to say about it then be my guest, if it eats batteries or something (which I'm sure it doesn't, but still)
