New Zoom B3

Still waiting for my B3 to be delivered...
  2.
WTF?! You provide the gear and no doubt do the setup, the hanging around for hours after you've played and the consequent breakdown for the "honour" of playing support? Nah. Don't care who they are, wouldn't be for me.
Yeah, part of me feels that way. But then the generous side of me takes over and it is the reason I kept hold of my old Peavey/Laney set up. Also, fortunately the drummer, lives around the corner from the pub and, knows the pub manager pretty well so we can leave the amps and cabs in a safe room. He'll then collect everything and bring it back to us the next day. Of course if the 2 touring bands turn up in a massive van I'll not be best pleased.
  3.
It`s an update after yesterdays postal delivery. The postman for my address delivers anywhere between 9.30 and 14.30. Some strange shifts there.......
for a second there I thought you still had a decent postal service!
  4.
In what much be well over a hundred gigs between them only problem has been someone's bass cab blew while my son was playing. An issue at the time, wasn't his fault (he knows what he's doing) and they came to an amicable arrangement about its repair (son didn't need to pay in the end). Not sure how things would work if everyone said 'not using my gear'.
I don't have a problem letting people use my amp or cab with prior arrangement or in an emergency. It's when people just show up and expect to use your stuff.
  5.
My set have now arrived. Yayyyyy!!!!!!!
You get post at this time of the morning!?!?
  6. My band is supporting GBH and The Vile (ex Discharge and a couple of other bands) on a couple of weeks. Last week at band practice the drummer, who sorted the support slot, informed us we had to supply: The drum kit Bass amp and cab 2 guitar amps and cabs We only have one guitarist... I might take my nice Ampeg, 4x8" and 1x15" and my Peavey MkIII and Laney 4x10". I could then run 2 rigs for our set and then pack away the good stuff after we've finished!!
  7.
No supplied Velcro with this one! You get 2 little rubber feet to add if you don't Velcro it (rather than ones you need to remove if you are going to Velcro it), but no Velcro supplied.
Ah, I thought it was 2 little bits of velcro. The stuff with the full size pedal was rubbish. I applied it, stuck pedal to board, the next day went to move the pedal and it left the velcro behind...
  8.
Works perfectly as a chromatic tuner on my 6 string, just as te regular one does... And you'd expect and decent chromatic tuner to do so. Screen is large enough and bright enough on stage for tuning as well.
Does the supplied velcro stay on longer than 5 mins?
  9.
I spoke to Jes @ TC about it and it's due tot he space. They had to lob off certain features to fit the board inside. Feedback was that hardly any bassists use the poly mode so they cut that out. Something had to give for them to make the tiny version basicially. No USB for future updates etc either. It is being sold as a 'stripped down' Polytune, in size and features - It's a little cheaper than the full size one and really is for those on a space budget for small boards or that doesn't need as many advanced tuning functions.
Yeah, makes sense.
On a *slightly* unrelated note, does anyone know when Polytunes will get drop D software? The Mini's have it already apparently..
Have you tried emailing about the public beta? "]polytune[email protected]
  10.
Polymode not available for a bass though - so It's strictly only a Chromatic tuner for bassists.
I find it odd that polymode is not available for bass. Although, I don't use that mode on my full size PolyTune very often...

  13.
Keep being tempted by those in Maplins, for the standby.
And the green toggle switch for power? You'd have to have the 2.

    New Zoom B3

Just ordered one. Put some stuff (non musical) up for sale on a different forum last night and sold it all with in 20 mins! Now just have to sit and wait...
  15. Nope. It was a nice Aria Pro II Cardinal Series Deluxe, but I part-ex'd it for a SB Elite.
  16. Due to putting the house on the market and needing to de-clutter, as much as possible, plus I'm not going to have any time to play this for the foreseeable future. I've decided to sell my NXT4. It's in Sunburst (according to NS Design, or Amberburst according to Bass Direct). In fantastic condition, it being only a little over a year old. Currently strung with D.Addario Helicores, but comes with the original D'Addario NS strings. Obviously comes with the padded NS Design, padded, gig bag and the nice and sturdy tripod stand. I'm looking for around £SOLD for this. I can deliver up to 100 miles away from Newport, South Wales for cost of fuel. I'd rather not send it by courier due to the difficulties in packing it safely enough to endure shipping. Piccies: Cheers.
  17. Lots of nice doom/sludge stuff mentioned in this thread!! I'll add Om (starts of medium speed then slows down about 10:30 in):
  18. There's also the fact it's your bass. If you don't like them don't have them. If you do like them, get them and sod what everyone else thinks
  19. None in Wales yet. I guess the Royal Mail are having difficulty with the snow... EDIT: Just for home to find they've arrived! Along with a Rotosound pen and keyring! Many thanks to all those involved!
  20. When my band plays gigs we're lucky if any of us have got a monitor. We just get on with it.
  21.
Why would you have rogue cabs like that available in a rehearsal room? He could at the very least have warned you about it!
No idea. But now I store my amp and cabs down there it doesn't really matter. Of course if the cab was so dodgy to have caused major problems with the amp it'd be a different story. I wonder how a full vale amp would react to a dodgily wired cab (sounds like it could be running lower than 4Ohm) But is has made me a bit more confident in using the Ampeg live...
  22. The drummer's apendix burst whilst quad biking across the Sahara. A 2 week break from rehearsal turned into 9 weeks
  23. Last night I was talking to the guy who owns the rehearsal room we use. He was asking how my PF-500 was doing. I told him about how it cuts out if I use the Peavey 4x10 cab thats in the room. His reply was: "yeah, all my amps, but the Old Peavey Centurion, have cut out using that cab. A MB Little Mark Tube, a Peavey Tour 450, a MB LMII..." he listed a couple of others too. I guess it's his cab that caused the problem as opposed to the Ampeg having issues by itself...
  24. Hmmmmm.... interesting! £160 though...
