2.
Hi 73 Jazz , I had the refin done about 6-7 years ago and I think it was about £350 for the body work . back then there was a 6 month wait for the guitar to be returned . I was talking to Mark Foley who runs Fatboy Guitars here on the Isle of Wight . Mark specialises in ageing scratchplates and pickup covers and other small items for guitars , and he knows Clive quite well and says he now has a 3 year wait list and you are probably looking at £500 for a refin . Best idea is to contact Clive himself for price and waiting times . Mark did a brilliant job of a authentic torty shell scratchplate , he has them cut in old style nitro cellulose by Martin Sims of the Sims Custom shop and then ages them for you , very handy guy to know . Best Wishes Martin.
Thanks for your answer. We have a really good refinisher over here, but as i am thinking abpout refinishing, i try to explore what is possible and whats out there too.. Benthaus He is working also for sandberg and some other luthiers, as far as i know honestly i haven`t seen any good tortoise pickguards, except the originals may you have a picture of yours? maybe via pm..i don`t want to hijack this thread thansk in advance Martin

 10.
Looks amazing
Thanks guys. Here is an older Clip, strung with Bellas 760FL if you hear mistakes..leave them there:) recorded at home, i am no specialist with that..so you may have indulgence with me Soundclip The bass has a great flexibility in tone, for instance with the elixir it has more bite and is more aggresive and different to what you hear in this clip. But i think you get an idea of what kind of baby she is..
 11. As i am going for another 60`s P Bass, this one unfortuneately has to go to compensate a little bit the money. It is an all original Fender Precision from 72/73 in Olympic White, ash body and rosewood board. The black pickguard has been replaced. Strung with Elixir Strings, recently set up by legend Uli Kurtinat, who has been doing instrument jobs for Rolling Stones/James Hetfield/Robbie Williams etc. (www.ulikurtinat.de/cm/) He said this bass is an awesome P Bass! Rare colour for these years and rare wood of ash for early 70`s ..and yes, the bass sounds like it looks it would sound. I am located in germany, shipping in Europe will be no problem. Of course the bass will be shipped more than safe, so there is no possible concern about getting harmed. If you like to collect the bass, you are more than welcome to do this and while you are playing her, i will serve you the best coffee you ever had. You have further questions?please do not hesitate to contact me, i will answer them immediately. I have 365 feedbacks on ebay with 100%, see also my feedback thread here on basschat kind regards some Artwork done with this bass
